“Cool Hotel, Great Value!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 June 2014

Hotel Pausania is a great hotel in Venice! If life ever takes me back to Venice, I would definitely stay again. The Hotel is in a great location. Not too touristy, but not quiet either. It is right along the canal. It is a really cool hotel in that it makes you feel like you are staying where wealthy Veneitians once slept. If you are lucky enough to be on the second floor in the front of the building, that is the neatest place to be. You're steps from the square where there's a lot of nightlife at the cafes and only a 20 minute or so walk to St. Marks (it really is best to be away from all the tourists there). Also, while we were there, the area around St. Marks had flooded, slightly, but Dorsoduro, the area where Hotel Pausania is situated, was dry. There are fruit and vegetable vendors that are outside along the canal in the morning, so be sure to get some fruit for a snack while you stroll around Venice (you won't need any for breakfast, because a WONDERFUL breakfast spread is included!). Definitely consider this hotel if you find yourself traveling to Venice.

Room Tip: If you can upgrade to the room overlooking the canal, it is definitely worth it!

A very good location, on the water. The room is a bit small and hot, but it fits the weather.
The bathroom is nice.
The reception was great! they gave us everything we wanted - from 2 glasses for wine and an opener, to 06:15 am breakfast service! they helped us a lot planing the trip through venice and have a lot of great advises.
For WIfi connaction you will need to sit in the lobby, so take that in count.
Overall - A great place to stay.

Loved our little hotel's location! By a quiet canal with little passing foot/boat traffic so very peaceful, but only a stone's throw from the charming Ai Pugni bridge and the large, locals' favourite, Campo Santa Margherita which is great for food/drinks and feels very residential. But not far from the tourist hotspots of Accademia and Rialto too, as well as a convenient vaporetto stop, so best of all worlds really. Charming and helpful staff. Hotel itself feels a bit outdated and could do with a refurb but our room/bathroom was an OK size and clean and besides we didn't spend much time in it!

This is a convenient affordable hotel on a quiet canal. Close to restaurants, short walk from Ca' Rezzonico waterbus stop. Beds were comfortable, room, bathroom and linens were clean. Given some experiences elsewhere during our vacation, this is a big plus.

This is a delightful hotel in the sestiere of Dorsoduro. Close to Campo San Barnaba and Ca' Rezzonico. We are always made welcome and the friendly staff are most helpful. There is now a weatherforecast displayed in reception. Staying here you are away from the frenzy of San Marco and closer to the real Venice. There are abundant bars, restaurants and gelateria close at hand and access to the attractions of Venice are only minutes away.
We love this hotel and have already booked our next stay.

Room Tip: The room at the very top of the stair (305?) is probably the least desirable but every room is diffe...

This was a fantastic find, in a quiet area, a few minutes walk from the Accademia into a peaceful picturesque location. All The Staff were extremely kind, helpful and polite. The room was very clean, & we were pleasantly surprised after a days sight seeing, to find our room had been tidied, with clean towels & fresh supplies of tea/coffee etc. The breakfast was lovely and plentiful. Can I say a negative comment regarding this hotel? No! We will be back to visit this wonderful place. Keep up the good work. Thank you,
The Kilker Family, Cambridge, England.

Cannot tell you how in love we are with this hotel. So much character and beauty....... extremely easy to reach from train station and airport. Staff was very kind, even helping with my bags which were beyond heavy from our shopping!

This is place that will truly allow you to experience Venice......stay here!!
