“Enjoyable stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 September 2013

Just back from 4 nights stay. We really enjoyed our stay after the initial shock of the red décor. Had a room in the annexe but not a problem although the front door entrance key did cause some problems for some as the key needed fiddling in the lock to open the door. Was slightly concerned when we saw a French group of girls staying but they were very well behaved, no noise at night even when using their shared bathroom which was next to our room. Our room, 34, was very quiet at night with no outside noise. Breakfast was OK, usual continental fare and we did eat in the Messner restaurant on 2 nights and enjoyed the great service from the 2 waiters and the waitress who was very friendly and the food was pleasant too. Overall an enjoyable stay at a reasonable price and would stay again when we return to wonderful Venice

Room Tip: If you are going to the airport via Plaza Roma and the bus, use the boat stop Spirito Santo on line...

Very good and comfortable hotel in good location. Staff friendly and helpful especially on Reception. Booked through Citalia. One tip for Venice in general.....be aware of the mosquitoes, close windows at night. A series of bites can blight your hols

I originally booked a triple room for myself, husband and son, but had to change this to a double and a twin as my son brought along a friend. I emailed the hotel and they managed to do this with no problem. When we arrived to check in the gentleman on reception spoke perfect english and even remembered that I had requested the change. He then showed us to our rooms which was a few doors along in a separate building. It was like a rabbit warren - but quaint and decorated very well. Our rooms were quite plain but adequate for what we wanted. And they were clean and quiet. In the evening we ate in the restaurant and considering we were in Venice I was pleasantly surprised when the bill arrived! Lovely food, wine and staff. I would definately recommend staying here and using the restaurant. Breakfast was nice the following morning too.

we arrived at eleven in the evening and we immediately reached the room accompanied by the concierge.the double room was really tiny but we had a real good luck to find a room in venice in the high season just booking two days before.the light of the bathroom worked intermittently but generally the room was noiseless.
Excellent position and the breakfast is complete and basic. Some pigeons disturbed the breakfast in the courtyard

Spent one night in hotel messner mid August. Position of hotel was perfect for walking quickly to Saint Marc's square. The breakfast was excellent. We reserved a quadruple room, ( room 34) and the thing I disliked was the bunk beds provided for the children. there were no barriers on either side of top bunk and the whole bed system was a bit unstable. We ended up putting the mattress on the floor. After that we had a very good night's sleep. the air conditioning was great too. Had to buy some fly spray to kill the many mosqutos in room. otherwise for one night, it was fine.

We stayed for one night in August and it was a lovely position, on a little canal and away from too many tourists......it has a restaurant which was closed unfortunately when we were there as that would have been perfect.

The reception was efficient and looked to be a lovely place, but our room was in the annex and just ok. It was very spacious which is unusual for Venice, with a double bed and bunk beds for our kids. The room was actually fine, but only had about 4 channels on TV. It was clean enough but needed a good mop on the stone floor and the bathroom was very tired. It needed a proper refurb, but was functional and ok - it was just covered in flies. For one night, no worries, but not ideal for a longer stay.

If we return to Venice, I wouldn't not go here (if that makes sense!) but I would look around as I do not think it is amazing. I wish we'd seen some other rooms though as they may have been ideal.

What was lovely, was that breakfast was included, and it was very nice - lots of food and everything you would actually want - that was great.
