After reading the good reviews I booked a superior double room. ground floor. We stayed in room 601. It was quiet. nicely decorated, clean and had a modern bathroom. The only problem with this room is that there is only about 25 cm space at the foot of the bed. Which makes it almost impossibe to squeeze between the bed and the wall with the televison hanging on it, to get to the other side of the bed.

Location is excellent, right next to Piazza San Marco and the place to take the vaporetto. Accomodations are also very nice. Some of them are in another building, closeby, the same place where breakfast is served. The people on the reception sometimes have only basic english. On breakfast they have some wierd table reservation rules, like keeping some table empty for some family with kids without ever checking if there was any guest with that profile.

we booked this hotel based on reviews on tripadvisor. nice clean hotel . usa visitors be advised that usually all europian hotel rooms are smaller than usa hotels.
hotel is minutes to st. marco square and basilica . i highly recommend this hotel. people in hotel next to us paying 380 euros and we will sleep as good and as comfortable as they do for 4x less money.

We stayed 2 nights during February 2014 and really liked this hotel. Located right by the waterfront and in front of the waterbus stop, transport between Marco Polo Airport and the island is very easy. We paid 27 euros per person for a return trip between the airport and venice on the Alilaguna waterbus which is the cheapest option (but it takes much longer than the water taxis). The hotel was only a 3 minute walk from the Doge's Palace, Piazza San Marco and Basilica di San Marco. There are a few restaurants in front of the hotel but they can be on the pricier side. There are many side streets around Piazza San Marco that has many shops including designer brand shops, all of which open till late so its great walking around the area at night. The room was not big, but we found it very cosy. Our room had a little balcony overlooking the interior courtyard. The room had two small closets and a safe that you can store valuables in. The bathroom was small but adequate and very clean. Our room was cleaned everyday and they will replace the sheets and towels if needed. The bed was large and comfortable to sleep in. We had no problems with noise at night. The reception was friendly and service was good. Breakfast was located in the annex building which was about 1-2 minutes walk away. Breakfast was great as there were many selections to choose from. However, the lady in charge of the breakfast room didn't seem like the friendliest person. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the Paganelli and reckon this hotel has good value for money and is great if you want to stay central in venice and want easy access to water transport to and from the airport.

We chose the courtyard view because during carnivale the canal view can get loud. Room was extremely clean, quiet & although small, was exactly what you want to get the authentic feel of Venice. What truly warrants a 5 rating is the staff. We have stayed at high end hotels that charge ridiculous amounts and have not been this happy. They went above and beyond to make our weeklong stay truly wonderful. Incredibly informative, warm and welcoming. We wanted for nothing. Was sad to leave as it felt like we were leaving family. As for the breakfast, there was more than enough food. Croissants, meat, yogurts, any coffee you could want etc. If you want omelettes feel free to pay thousands a night and be just another nameless guest elsewhere. If you want the true feeling of Venice stay here.
