just got back after a short 4 day trip, hotel is great for position, staff friendly and helpful, room clean, shower hot, breakfast enjoyable, we had a lovely stay thankyou . great location on a corner of st mark's square, a short walk from the water taxi stop ( about 5 minutes) and easy to find, I only asked once and was in the right street anyway.

My 23 year old daughter and I stayed for two nights and we were welcomed so warmly and treated so very well. The man on reception was incredibly friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast really good. The location is perfect, as everything is within metres of the hotel. We were delighted with everything and would definitely recommend this hotel! Thank you to Orion Hotel and their great staff!

Great location in the heart of Venice. For E140 you can get a decent, two person room.

Be ready for stairs, rooms start on the first floor (2nd floor for Americans) and go up to the third floor.

The breakfast area is simply charming and the staff work hard to make sure your needs are met. If you are lucky and are a couple, you can get a charming 2-seat table that "hugs" you in a little inlet as you enjoy a romantic morning cappucino. Delightful.

The staff are generally nice, just don't ask for too many maps. If you need help with your bags, a tip is always appreciated by the counter staff who will take care of carrying them up or down the stairs for you.

The hotel is next to a church and Cartier store and there is water and gelato at two places 5 meters from the hotel for you.

Overall, a good comfortable stay.

Room Tip: Try to get a room on the 1st floor.

We stayed for four nights at beginning of September. Ideally situated about 50 metres from north east corner of St Marks square and is really very easy to find. Hotel is small but very clean. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast had most things one would expect with a continental breakfast although the breakfast room felt a bit cramped. There is no elevator and stairs are steep so would not recommend for anyone with mobility problems. Everything in Venice is expensive so relatively speaking it is very good value. For location you will not beat this hotel - one can pop down late at night or before breakfast to experience St Marks square without the throngs. There are many advantages in staying near St Marks square. Would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to friends and will definitely stay there next time.

Located just a few steps from St. Marks Square and a 5 min. walk to the Rialto Bridge, the location can't be beat. Nothing in Venice is cheap, but this place is a top value if you want to stay on the main island. Look up the location on Google Earth and it will help you find it...look for a black iron light above the street with the hotel name on it. I have been to Venice 4 times and have stayed here twice....so worth it. No lift...be prepared for some stairs. Breakfast is very good with choice of meat, cheese, yogert, fruit, bread, and coffee's. If you are looking for a 5 star experience, stay somewhere else, and pay the big bucks. If you are looking for a wonderful Italian family run hotel in the best city in Europe...stay here.

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights in April 2013 and were delighted with its location, service and value for money. It is barely a minutes walk from St Marks Square in one direction and about 5 minutes from the Rialto bridge in the other, so providing easy access to all the regular tourist must sees. The hotel itself was a little difficult to find when we arrived but I think this was due to the time[abbout 2300] and a relatively small sign. We were in an apartment room reached via the rear courtyard which overlooked the busy street below, this was no problem as when the window and shutters were closed any noise was negligible. The room was spacious with a double bed and efficient shower in the en suite. Plenty of wardrobe space and a decent dresser were a bonus and the decor was a nice mix of period and contemporary, the room was well cleaned daily and the towels changed every other day. A decent, if run of the mill, continental breakfast is provided in the top floor breakfast room. Due to its excellent location and relatively good prices[for Venice!] we would have no hesitation in staying here again when we return to this magical city.
