“Small and value for money”
Reviewed 14 June 2014

A pretty nice hotel, well placed. Don't be dissapointed by the reception. You will find small rooms and even a smaller place to have your breakfast. Nevertheless, a warm place. Good value for money. Lovely for couples.

I will be staying at the Orion hotel for the second time as the staff are great, rooms are just what you want for exploring and it ideally located for all attractions, but I have chosen to visit the Dolomite mountains and the pick will be from Tronchetta station I need help in find out how to get from St Marc Square to Tronchetta Station and by what as I am lead to believe there is more than one Troncheeta. Any ideas?

Room Tip: The room we had was opposite the Cartier shop. The shower room felt like it had heated floor which w...

The Hotel Orion is perfectly placed, being in the narrow cobbled streets just off St. Mark’s Square. My wife and I stayed here for four nights. Although the room we were given was not large, it was perfectly adequate and clean, with twin beds, desk and chair, TV, mini bar, a small safe and bathroom. The only downside was the rather small shower and the least powerful hairdryer that I have ever experienced. The room was slightly noisy at night and early morning, but that was to be expected, being right in the centre of things. The Italian’s do love their church bells! What a pleasure it was to open the curtains in the morning and take in the view of the hustle and bustle outside. Breakfast was fine with waitress service for the most delicious cream croissants and coffee. I only drink decaff coffee, but they were able to oblige with this. There was also a cold buffet that included ham and cheese. All of the staff were pleasant and helpful. If you want a simple hotel right in the heart of Venice, the Orion is not a bad option.

Brilliant location convenient for both Rialto and St Marcs Square. Small quaint hotel and great value for money. Friendly staff and great hospitality. This was our third visit to this hotel and we chose to stay here because it is fantastic value for money compared to some other hotels in Venice. It is also great to be in the middle of Rialto and St Marcs Square which are the two best areas. Suited more to couples than families.

I work for Thomas Cook and booked this hotel for one night before my cruise, it was the best price i could find with lots of different operators for a hotel that was this central, the location really is fantastic right in the heart of st.marks square and very easy to find if you follow the directions and map on the hotels website, the hotel was clean and great value, reception very friendly and helpful as i lost my case and they was helping me call the italian airport to chase this up, highly recommend!!!

Very convenient to all the main attractions. Very clean and very comfortable. No lift and stairs could be a problem for the less agile. Friendly staff.
Could be a tad difficult to find initially but when found the convenience to San Marco etc is well worth it.
Charge for wi-fi.

Room Tip: Top floor best. Restricted views but quieter. Some may find the church bells intrusive but that is c...

I can highly recommend this small hotel. we had room 25 on the first floor which was a large room with large bathroom. being on the first floor over the front it was noisy well into the night but what would you expect from a hotel in this fantastic position, just a minutes walk from St Marks Square. The staff were very helpful and the Wi-Fi worked well and was free for the first hour each day. The breakfast room is on the second floor and is satisfactory, with a good selection of coffee, rolls, cheese, ham, fruit and yogurts.
we will definitely stay here again when we visit Venice.
