We had a pleasant stay. Hotels in Venice are small and expensive, so the Hotel Orion proved to be typical in size and a good value for price. Staff were helpful when needed. The breakfast was typical Italian (don't expect much) but a big plus is that it is included with the room. The cappuccino was not bad either! Plenty of hot water and water pressure, a small safe for valuables in the room, and a location that is VERY close to St Mark's. Outside can be a bit noisy until midnight but that is to be expected in such a high traffic area. The Hotel Orion was clean enough, quiet enough, and friendly enough that we feel we received a good value for our money. The Wi-Fi service is adequate, but is the one area where improvements could be made (likely be adding inexpensive signal boosters). Please, please, please don't go to Venice and expect a huge, luxury hotel suite at these prices- it just isn't going to happen. Most importantly, we recommend that you view your hotel as somewhere to store your belongings and to rest in between your trips out exploring a truly magical city that you will miss like a dear friend once your trip has ended. If you do that, then the Hotel Orion will not disappoint.
