“Great location, Excellent Service, a treasure in San Marco”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 October 2013

This hotel is in a fantastic location...could not be any closer to San Marco Square, yet it is quiet and comfortable. The rooms were very nice and the service was outstanding. They always remembered us and were very friendly. They even assisted us with booking some tours. Would love to stay here again some day.

I stayed 3 nights at this hotel and found it to be very comfortable.
The staff were more than helpful and it was clean.
It situated just around the corner from the more expensive hotels like the Danieli on St Mark's Basin.
I was single meeting up with some friends before travelling further, so I had a single room.
Yep, it was small with a single bed, but the bathroom was quite large. It really did suit my needs.
You could walk around the back way to St Mark's Square, passing shops and restaurants.
One gent at the desk recommend a great little restaurant...off the tourist track. La Gardinetta ( I think)

Room Tip: If you are coming from the train station and take the vaporetto #2 or #51 to San Zaccaria boat stat...

v went on our honeymoon in the romantic city of venice. location is very good, very close to ferry station "san zaccaria" if i am pronouncing it correctly. also san marco square is couple of alleys away....
not to miss things wud b:
- morning sun just outside the hotel alley (if u planning in winter)
- breakfast :)

only drawback i found was the room size was a little small...

For my first foray into Venice, I assumed that the best option was to stay as close to St. Mark's Square as possible - this was one of the only reasonably-priced rooms available even remotely close to there, esp. as they have cheaper single rooms. There are both pro's and con's to this hotel. Pro: It is tucked into an alley just around the corner from St. Mark's, which means the convenience of getting to attractions, shops, restaurants and vaporettos within a minute. Con: It also means shoving your way past ridiculous hordes of people if you have baggage - this is the most crowded part of Venice. The fixtures/furnishings in the rooms are on the older side and the rooms are tiny, but you have everything you need, like air-conditioning and a hot shower, and I was able to get a decent night's sleep. Front desk was helpful enough and the included breakfast was a nice surprise, albeit spartan. I'd recommend this for a quick one-or-two night stay in Venice where you can be in the heart of the action and will probably never be in the room anyway, but not really for a longer stay. The rationale behind staying here is basically going to be whether you want to spend a lot more or are fine dealing with basic accomodations to save some money.

Room Tip: Try to avoid the 4th floor, as the lift only reaches the 3rd floor and then you have to walk around...

The only good thing about the hotel is the location. Awful rooms that seriously need a revamp!! Smelly room, hard bed and tiny tiny room. Only stayed one night. Breakfast is very basic for continental. The guy on checkin was not friendly but got better as the day went on. Better accommodation available for better value nearby that doesn't make u feel the need for having a shower just standing in three room. The worst place I ever stayed.

My husband and I stayed here in mid August 2013. Fantastic location behind Hotel Danieli. The hotel was basic, clean with good air conditioning. Bed was hard but OK, Breakfast was basic with ham, cheese, cereal and good pastries, tea, coffee, juices. Grand canal glimpses from the window. WIFI only available in the lobby. Close to many eateries. Excellent coffee in cafe next door. Reasonably priced for Venice in peak season. Would stay here again.

Other than a convenient location this hotel is only rated a 3 star. Stayed for three nights after a cruise. You can take a water taxi from ship to hotel which is a short walk. Rooms were clean, bed very hard. Breakfast included but nothing special. Beware of hair dryer!! With converter we popped a fuse. Hotel hair dryer is only 100 watts. It was as strong as blowing out a candle. Travel a lot in Europe in the 4 star ratings have been okay until now. Staff was helpful.
