Hotel Commercio & Pellegrino

We chose this hotel as a seemingly good compromise on cost and location – what an excellent choice. I read on Trip Advisor that the rooms are small – they are certainly not large but they are entirely satisfactory. The complimentary breakfast is more than adequate and the staff were friendly and helpful. On a short trip to Venice, it is all about location and this hotel is absolutely perfect. You cannot be better located for the transport facilities and the sights around St Mark’s Square. This was our first trip to Venice – it will undoubtedly not be our last. I will have no hesitation in returning to this hotel time and time again.

I arrived by train and walked to the hotel which took about 40minutes. The hotel is excellently located next to St . Marks square. The staff were helpful and friendly. The room was clean, but on the forth floor, the lift goes to the third floor and then a flight of stairs. I slept fine but there was slight noise. The buffet breakfast was very good, with plenty of choice. Getting about in Venice without a map will surely get you to loose your way. Certainly a different city with the mix of waterways, bridges, narrow streets, plenty of history, culture and a living city at the same time.

Room Tip: Rooms on the forth floor have a flight of stairs so if you have a lot of luggage maybe a room on the...

This great little hotel is very conveniently located if travelling from the airport. Take the Alilaguna Blue vaporetto to San Zaccaria stop. The same vaporetto then goes on to the cruise terminal. From the vaporetto stop it is a 5 minute walk over only 1 bridge (one of the very few with a ramp for wheeling luggage) to Calle de Rasse & the hotel. The rooms are small but pretty standard for most 3 star hotels in Italy & in fact Europe. Only 2 blocks from San Marco & there is a back way to get to the square without having to negotiate hordes of people.

Reception staff very welcoming & helpful. A small lift goes to the 3rd floor. If your room is on the 4th floor you'll need to carry your luggage up the final floor. Room small with comfortable single bed but very clean with reasonable sized bathroom. Windows & shutters open onto small canal. Was able to sleep with these open at night - not too noisy, considering what a busy part of town it's in. Airconditioning available in summer. There is a small safe in the room which requires a refundable €20 deposit for the key. Free wifi in the lobby & available in the rooms for charge via an external service provider. The hotel provides luggage storage after checkout.

Small breakfast room serving adequate continental breakfast - choice of juices, tea & coffee, a selection of cereals, fruit, bread, rolls, pastries, jams, cheeses & cold meats.

Plenty of small restaurants & cafes nearby but the reception staff highly recommended a restaurant a couple of blocks away - Giardinetto. Lovely restaurant in a tiny little square, reasonably priced with complimentary apperitif.

Highly recommend this lovely little hotel - the icing on the cake was being able to hear the bells of San Marco each morning & evening.

Room Tip: 1st, 2nd or 3rd floors - the lift doesn't go to the 4th floor

Let me start with the location: THE BEST! can use all the public transportation. Just small walk and everything is near. Especially the major attractions such as St Marco square and basilica, bell tower etc.

Hotel facilities: Well above the class. Food is good and plenty. great chocolate and coffee. Has a lift. Wifi+, Great rooms! very cozy. cleaned daily.

Staff: Polite and helpful. Trust me! they were the best.

My place of choice to stay in all my venice tours and I'll recommend to all!

Just a few minutes walk from San Zaccaria water taxi stop, very easy to find. Rooms are fine for a short stay and breakfast is the usual continental style. Just a short 5 minute walk to San Marco square and there are plenty of bars and cafes close by. Staff were friendly and efficient and we wouldn't hesitate to use this hotel again. Facilities to leave luggage after check-out if you have a late departure. Great value for money hotel.

Well priced, exceptionally well located in a small street behind St. Mark's square, the hotel could not have been more immaculate. I booked this budget hotel to accompany friends visiting Venice and was surprised by the exceptional value it offers. Pleasant and efficient front desk and service, better breakfast than other expensive options, though not luxurious, and so convenient for sight seeing. Safe fro valuables and a little fridge. The 4th floor is fine, by the way. Beat the crowds getting there. Take Vaporetto #2 to San Zaccaria at the bottom of the new bridge to the right of the train station and the 4.2 or 5.2 to the station from the San Zaccaria stop. Complete convenience and direct. No pushing through St. Mark's! Great option for the budget minded traveler. Really pleased and surprised by this little hotel! PS. Book direct for a lower rate!

Room Tip: I'd say 404 even if you have one short flight of stairs. 401 is for solo travelers. It is over...

This hotel is excellently situated for the vaporetto stops and for easy access to the main tourist sites. There are plenty reasonably priced restaurants nearby and a friendly caffe/bar next door. Our room was comfortable with good soundproofing between adjacent rooms. There was everything we required at breakfast and the staff were most helpful and pleasant.
