“A smile goes a long way...”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 July 2012

The location is excellent, the price is fair, the rooms are comfortable, and the breakfast was sufficient and tasty. Yes, this should qualify a higher star rating yet there was something missing...a feeling that our business was appreciated. We do not expect over the top service for a 3 star hotel but a simple smile or hello would be nice! There were a few staff who were kind (thank you Carlos and Dario) but the attitude of some (may have been the owner?) were simply sour! Learn to smile and say good morning...it's customer service 101 !!!

My daughter and I had a wonderful 7 night stay at the fabulously located Casanova Hotel. Staff polite, informative and courteous; twin room (2nd floor - lift, good size, air conditioned and very clean) looked down the Calle Vallaresso; breakfast OK but got a bit repetitive. Not a cheap option, but this is a prime location in Venice. I'd happily stay at the Casanova again.

I really appreciated the location of that Hotel, very near the Piazza San Marco, and also near many good shopping! The Hotel has a nice lift and offers free wireless Internet in the lobby. The only bad thing i can say about that hotel, is about the shower in the bathroom, my room was located in the 4th floor (top floor) but the force of the water from the shower was very weak!

I stayed here with my wife and daughter for 3 nights w.e.f. 3rd June 2012. Pleasant experience. Nothing much to complain about. But too small room, Broken bath shower, No Bidet as publicised in web site, Safe box is not bolted to cupboard and Inadequate breakfast compared to Rome/Florence hotels. 230 Euros per nght seems higher. Great staff members. Extremely cooperative any time. Carlos even packed some breafast for us while we checked out at 5.30 am. Great location.. Bhattacharya

This hotel chose itself. I was travelling with my 95 year old father-in-law who has limited mobilty. This hotel has a lift, is very close to Piazza San Marco and even close to a vaporetto stop.
I arrange the booking direct with the hotel via email - a very painless process.
The room we had was twin-bedded, not huge but it did have air conditioning. A small LCD TV with a selection of channels. Not masses of channels but why would you want to watch TV with Venice just outside the door??? The bathroom, specifically the shower, was probably the weakest feature. Neither of us managed a shower with constant pressure/heat.
Our room overlooked the busy Frezzaria but with the shutters and windows closed, noise wasn't a problem. Althop' I did still hear the church bells at midnight!
The breakfast is small, a jam-filled croissant, a roll, a pack of (what I think are called) french toast, a yoghurt, some individual jams/ Nutella and coffee. Not terribly good for us diabetics!
I found the staff very pleasant and helpful.
Would I go again? Well, I prefer to stay in an apartment but if that wasn't possible - yep!

Never having been to Venice before I was addicted to reviews. I have to say some of the reviews for Casanova were out of line. We loved our room #449. New bathroom. A small (thumb nail small) view of the water, top floor. We closed our windows at night and did not hear a thing and I am a light sleeper. The breakfast was very adaquate unless you want to have breakfast be your entire meal for the day. Breakfast was hard rolls, crouisants, yogourt, jams, the best coffee, cheese. The staff was wonderful. the reccomendation for dinner at Cafe Carla was great. We even had a special escort to the water taxie at Moise with a special pick up call to get us to our Cruise Ship. Only one block from St. Marks. Easy. Loved it. Would go back.

The location is fantastic, so close to San Marco. Our bed was clean and comfortable, but the carpet and washroom could have been cleaner. Breakfast was bread and croissant with cocoa or coffee essentially. Given the good price and location, overall it was passable.
