“Great! Nothing not to like”
Reviewed 19 December 2013

We stayed here at the end of Nov and had a really great time.
It's really important to me before spending my hard earned cash that any hotel I stay in is value for money, clean and well located.
From the minute we walked through the doorway it felt all of these things.
Like others, we arrived early and without hesitation as our room was ready, we were able to check in, leave our bags in the room and go off exploring.
The décor both in the room and communal area is very nicely done and feels very comfortable.
There is a free safe, slippers and dressing gown, along with travel toothbrush (not toothpaste) and other necessary toiletries to get you through a weekend. This is worth knowing as with hand luggage and limited space, no need to bring. There is something for everyone at breakfast and around 5pm - 7pm they leave out drinks and nibbles.
The staff were really helpful with any queries put to them and always really friendly and polite. All of them and especially the owner, Luigi, genuinely want to make sure you have a good stay.

Venice itself is a very special place!
I loved the hotels location as it helped us see parts of the city I'm sure some don't that stay in the more central part of Venice. It is a simple 20 min walk in either direction to San Marco square but such a beautiful walk it's something I wouldn't have liked to of missed. The more walking we did, (getting lost from our map many times) the more little gem areas we found. I especially loved walking back to the hotel in the evening where at some points you felt like you were the only people around, yet still felt safe.
Regards to getting from the airport to the hotel, we took the waterbus at 15euros (27 euros return) a couple of stops to Guglie (pronounced Goo Yay) and once off the bus, a 1 min walk to the end of the street, turn left and less than 50 yards down on the left you'll find the doorway for the hotel (look carefully).

Overall, I would love to return to Venice and wouldn't hesitate in staying at the Arcadia again.

no matter how long you will search honestly you will not find a better place to stay in venice. we had three nights here from 20 to 23 November in a triple room.
we were in venice 2008 and stayed in another place was nice but nothing to compare with Arcadia . the Hotel is very new very clean it on the same time traditional venetian and also modern and beautiful the location is amazing and everything is perfect. . all this are reason for itself to choose this place but there is another factor that make this hotel better than any other.
this is a small place with not hundred of rooms and that mean people really really care. We had the Pleasure to meet Luigi and His wife they are amazing people and they love what they do . this hotel is their baby as Luigi told me and i can understand extacly what he means .
The best choice for Venice. and i hope i will get to see this people again very very soon .

This is a wonderful boutique hotel. We could not fault it. Comfortable, peaceful, v clean and smartly furnished. Also conveniently located for exploring Venice by foot or on the vaporetto.

Location: Located on a lovely Venetian Street with fruit and vegetable stores outside, a fabulous bar opposite and a choice of restaurants in strolling distance. This area is much more relaxed than the areas around St Marco. It is v safe to walk around and you will see lots of local families out and about doing their shopping. We explored mainly on foot but also purchased vaporetto travel cards as it is a five minute walk to the grand canal. The airport vaporetto stops at Guglie which is just a 2 minute walk around the corner from the hotel.

The staff: Luigi and his team are polite and friendly. They make you feel very welcome. They are passionate about their city and will offer lots of advice and recommendations on places to eat / drink / visit. They will happily make table reservations /phone to check opening times etc.

The room: We booked a junior suite, a good sized room, tastefully and comfortably furnished, spotless clean. V quiet and had good quality blackout curtains. Room came with complimentary tea & coffee making (inc herbal teabags) / dressing gowns / slippers / hairdryer / sewing kit / toiletries /free Wi-Fi. It has a mini-bar / fridge plus flat screen tv (though only BBC world avail in English). The bed is super king-sized and very comfortable with good quality bed linen, quilt and pillows. The room has air con and adjustable temp control. The bathroom was spotless - with a lovely deep bath and rainfall shower. Our only comment is that there is not much closet space - however this did not bother us as our stay was for two nights.

Breakfast: Served in the main lounge / dining room, v relaxed with a gorgeous Venetian glass chandelier giving the wow factor. Lots of choice including the gorgeous glazed pastries and rich chocolate cake (Yes, Venetians really do eat cake for breakfast). Cereals / continental / toast / yogurts and fruit all avail. Coffee / tea / freshly squeezed juices and espresso's. Delicious.

Hotel tip: Ask the staff for bar / restaurant recommendations as they really know their Venice. They will produce a map giving you information on the food on offer and the prices and will offer lots of tips and advice. Bring a tablet or laptop to make use of the free Wi-Fi. We found it invaluable for looking up vaporetto times / working out opening times etc…

Everything about this hotel is excellent, impossible to find fault. Staff were outstanding, room was well up to expectation and location was perfect to access all parts of Venice. I can't think of anything negative about this hotel!

I can't say this was an overly exciting hotel, but for the price (EUR 130 / night) it had the right cost/quality balance.

The location is okay, but be prepared to walk 15-20 minutes for the main attractions, restaurants and any nightlife (when we arrived at 11:30 PM on Friday and asked where we could get a drink we were told, "not tonight; there are a lot of restaurants nearby that will be open tomorrow"). We ended up spending a bit more time than I would've preferred making the walk toward Rialto, considering we were only in town for two nights.

Rooms were clean and quiet, but the bed was a little stiff for my liking. Breakfast was pretty decent.

I would probably try somewhere else if I were back in Venice, but this would definitely be a reliable backup.

Close to the train station, you can walk to there. Even though you are in the middle of a busy street you don't hear much at all. Breakfast was simple but enough, friendly staff, clean bathroom and comfortable beds. I recommend this hotel!

Fantastic hotel in great location. Lovely rooms with added extras such as bath robes and slippers. Lovely touch of a bottle of Prosecco and muffins in our room on arrival as it was my partners birthday. Attentive staff who go out of their way to ensure you have a memorable stay. Luigi the hotel manager is excellent! This hotel deserves a higher rating than the 3 stars it currently holds. A must stay in Venice, can not recommend it highly enough! Will definitely be making a return visit here!
