This is probably one of the best hotels i visited in Rome. The location is right, the rooms are clean and comfortable and the breakfast is just amazing!
The staff is very helpful. Fortunately i got a deal which included a free trip to Murano. They took us in a luxury taxi, which also was a great experience.
True value for money, definitely will come and stay here if i ever get a chance to go back to Venice again!

Room Tip: first floor rooms would have a better view of the canal and gondolas.

Good location, and very good sized rooms. But I have gven this ol,y an Average rating for a few reasons. there was a bad sewerage smell in the bathroom, and the shower was simply a tap with a tiny shower curtain next to the toilet, providing barely enough room to shower! also, while the concierge staff were excellent, the breakfast dining staff were rude, inattentive, slow to respond to coffee orders and just plain sullen.

We had a fab 3 nights over New Year. The hotel was excellent, very close to ST Marks Square, excellent location. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Our room was on the 2nd floor and was quite spacious, very big bed which was extremely comfortable. We liked the decor of the hotel, glass chandeliers and some nice touches. Breakfast was very good for a European hotel with cooked food each day plus prosecco which was a nice touch. I will definitley only look at this hotel if we returned as it was excellent value for money. We arrived at the hotel by booking a transfer with locostaxi who I would definitely recommend, It was not cheap at 220 euros for the return trip but so easy and took us almost straight to the door of the hotel , first by car to the port area then a water taxi. The price is the same if there are 4 of you sharing so this makes it a better price.

Room Tip: We had room 205 which did not have a view but was quite spacious and good bathroom and shower.

This hotel was a great find. The staff were amazing, the rooms are clean and we had a triple which was enormous.
It is really centrally located and fantastic value for money.
Breakfast had a great choice of hot and cold foods, sweet and savoury, and we always got a table.
Would definitely recommend for all parties.

Let me start with the plus. The location is great if you want to be within short reach of San Marco Plaza or the big retail stores as Gucci, Versace and so on ( which are 50 meters away ). But if you go for comfort and service. I can imagine better hotels for this price. We had a very small room on the first floor which room had a problem with climate controll. Even by the end of december.. we had to open our room window a few times to get the warmth out of the room. Also in the night which interrupted our good night sleep. I personally had a problem to get my laundry cleaned. I guess this was because of the inbetween Xmas and New Year period. On sundays they do not accept cleaning anyway. And they just say it with a smile without giving any options what we could do. When you ask.. they will anticipate... it is how we say 'passive-helpful' in many ways. When we came in at 22.00pm and we wanted to have some coffee.. they said (again with a smile ) that was possible in half an hour at 22.30. Since it was deadcalm at the lobby and the coffeemachine was 2 feet away.. we thought that was a bit strange. They are not very flexible people. With breakfast you can get yourself the worst coffee out of a help-yourself-thermos bottle. In Italy .. that is a crime. When you ask for 'real' coffee.. they will make it separately. But you have to know that is a possibilty. You may think I am a natural complainer... but I am not. I just think you could be more in a serving mood when you pretend to be 3 stars and ask big prices. So resume... bring enough cloth and open the windows and ask through if you want to get things your way. You'll have a swell time.

First of all, the best location of this hotel should be brought up. It is near to the St.Marco piazza, and there is a gondola spot front of the door. For the first time visit tourist, Violino is the best choice!
The room is cozy and tidy, though it's not spacious. But you could just find the cute Murano Glass Lamp on the roof and the lovely fragrant in the lobby. And you are warm welcomed by the cute receptionist.
Worth to mention, the breakfast buffet they offer is adorable as well, croissant, milk, juice, coffee, ham, etc are tasty, they even provide Champaign which is delightful for me.
The most important thing is, the reasonable price, it definitely worth it.
I will back there again if I have a chance to Venice.
Thank them for the nice service and a lovely room for us:)

We've just spent 3 nights at the Violino D'Oro, and I cannot praise it highly enough!
We had booked a family room, as the "triples" were booked out for Christmas. On our check-in, the receptionist noticed that we were only a party of three, so had the fourth bed removed from our room (without us asking). This gave us an enormous amount of extra space in our room (Room 303). The room itself was spotlessly clean ; beautifully firm beds, and a lovely bathroom ( including bath tub).
The included breakfast was wonderful. A selection of yoghurts, cereals, cold meats and cheeses, pastries, as well as bacon and scrambled eggs. There were fruit Juices, as well as tea and coffee and a large selection of breads. There was a barista who made you beautifull espresso or cappuchino coffees, as well as hot chocolates. Glorious, particularly on Christmas morning with little shortbread biscuits.
The front desk staff were very welcoming, ant the location could not e better. I had been quite anxious about getting lost, on first arrival in Venice - but I shouldn't have worried as it was an easy walk from S. Marco's vaporetto stop.
All in all, a suberb hotel - excellent value for money (i booked directly with the hotel on their website, for an additional discount. I can't praise Violino D'Oro highly enough - loved every minute!
