Venice is a very expensive city. This is only a 2 star hotel, but it is a good 2 star hotel. I would stay there again. Location is great, 10 minute walk from bus and train station, twenty five minutes walk to St Marcs Square and five minutes from St Toms vaporetta stop on the Grand Canal.

Small characterful hotel, beds fairly comfy, bathroom clean & decent. Breakfast better than anticipated, boiled eggs, slices of cheese & ham, cereals and the like. Overpriced - if it weren't in Venice!

Great little hotel in a quiet part of the Dorsoduro, which was ideal for 4 guys who just needed somewhere to sleep and have breakfast while in Venice. The rooms were quiet, clean and comfortable, the shower was fine, the wi-fi and air-con worked, breakfast was plentiful and tasty and the staff were friendly and helpful. Close to the San Toma vaperetto stop and within an easy stroll to Piazzale Roma, which made travelling in and out with hand luggage very easy - we did get a tad lost on the first night, but that was probably due to the wine, rather than anything else, as we found it very easily from then on. Two excellent tratorrie nearby (Dona Honesta and Al Silvio) and a very friendly bar (Blues Cafe), which made us very welcome - don't be put off by the 2* rating and book with confidence, as we'll definitely be back.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the courtyard will be quieter, but we had no problems with outside noise.

"+":
1. Nice location (quite close to everything - train station, grand canal, san marco square). As for me - it's the best of all possible locations in the town.
2. Clean rooms
3. Price (the price is pretty high in absolute value but good enough in comparison with other hotels)
4. Stable wifi connection (even in the rooms)
5. AC (especially when you can't open windows because of the noise outside)

"-":
1. Poor breakfast (although what could you expect of 2* hotel). You might find boiler's empty.
2. Tiny bathrooms (also our bathroom didn't have soap tray in the shower)

As conclusion: good hotel for 2*. Overpriced but it's Venice - here everything is.

Finding an OK hotel in Venice can be a testing experience. Very often the hotels charge too much, the city being a popular tourist place. But if you are not too keen and fussy about room standard, this is an OK hotel that will serve you well. The big experience is the city! And the location is not in the big tourist trail.

This hotel is in a nice neighborhood. It's very close from the vaporetti (water bus), so getting around is pretty easy. The hotel is easy to find since we have gps on our phones (this make the whole "getting loss" in Venice impossible). This hotel is ok, the plumbing isn't great, so it gross me out a little bit when water takes awhile to drain in the shower. Breakfast isn't great, it's like the most basic breakfast you could find, but hey it's free so I'm not complaining.

We were in Venice for 2 nights and Tivoli Hotel was very centrally located but in a more residential neighborhood. The hotel is standard, clean rooms, decent beds and shower bathrooms. The hotel breakfast was fine (breads, cheese, yogurt, cereals and some ham). Nothing fancy, but great value for the money in a wonderful spot. The piazzas around the hotel are bustling, while also being a great place to get away from the madness of St Marks and the Rialto. Perfect for travelers looking to stay at a clean and simple hotel in a lovely location. 15 minute walk to Rialto, 20 minute walk to St Marks. Very easy to get to from the train station (10 minute walk).
