Our family of 5 booked three rooms, one Jr suite overlooking the canal, and 2 deluxe rooms. One deluxe room must have been upgraded to a Jr. suite, because it turned out to be huge, with a separate sitting room and large bath. Our Canal View Jr. Suite exceeded my expectations - beautifully furnished, spacious, large bath and even a large walk in closet - and of course the fantastic view. Each room was very clean, lavishly furnished in classic Italian style, and felt luxurious. Beds were comfy & everyone slept well. The common areas were beautifully furnished and sparkling clean. Service was always very professional and courteous. We were traveling with my 80 year old father with limited mobility, and the desk staff arranged for a wheelchair rental and wheelchair assistance at the train station. The staff emailed me several times in advance to keep me updated on availability and cost of the rental, and provided a confirmation number for assistance at the train station. I should add, this was a rather last minute request 2 days prior to arrival. Upon our arrival, the wheelchair was waiting and it made all the difference in my father's ability to experience Venice. The location is great, close to good restaurants and easy walking distance to Rialto and Piazza San Marco. For us, having the convenience of a water bus stop next to the hotel was a huge plus. Not to mention the private water taxi dock at the hotel door step. The outdoor seating on the canal is a splendid way to enjoy an evening glass of wine or morning coffee while watching the canal go by. People cram the overpriced bad restaurants on the canal for this experience, and it is all yours in peace and quiet. My family was very happy with our stay here.

Room Tip: Note that the water buses start running early and if you are splurging on a canal view ( totally wor...

We spent two days and one night. This was the 2nd time I stayed here. First time was 5 years ago, when it was only a couple of years after renovation. Naturally, the rooms are not glistening now as they did back then. But they are still in a very good condition. The thing I like most - is red/gold tapestry on the walls. They give a real feel of chic and insulate sound perfectly. Bathrooms differ in size, but all of them are quite spacious and decorated nicely. The water pressure is not consistent thought, so while taking a shower you have to adjust hot/cold from time to time. We stayed there with kids in 2 interconnecting rooms. The bigger one had a very big bathroom and and alcove where a 3rd bed was placed. The smaller one was adequate enough, the only drawback being lack of wardrobe - just open space in the corridor with hanger rails and shelves. Though I didn't find this as a problem. 5 years ago we stayed in the Junior suite overlooking Canal Grande, I highly recommend it!
Minuses: breakfast is pretty simple, choice is quite limited. The waitresses that particular morning were a bit slow and not extremely polite. However, maybe we just got unlucky with the shift....
Pluses: Location! on top of having its own berth on Canal Grande, it is 30 meters form the Palazzo Sant'Angelo bus stop (navetta) So it's very convenient! and it 10 min walking distance form Piazza San Marco. It's cosy, with a certain chic in the lobby and rooms, the view on Canal is spectaclular.
Pricing is reasonable as well.
Recommend.

My dream of sipping a glass of wine on the balcony of my hotel overlooking the Grand Canal in Venice came true. After a long day of travel we arrived to a very warm welcome and were amazed by our luxurious suite with the fantastic view from the balcony to the Rialto Bridge. The beautiful marble bathroom was huge and we felt like royalty. The room was very large and the decor absolutely amazing. Very cosy, comfortable and luxurious. The staff were always helpful and very accommodating. This was the perfect Hotel to stay in whilst in Venice and we look forward to coming back to Venice and the Palazzo Sant ' Angelo.

Room Tip: Definately ask for a room with a view of the Grand Canal as a lot of Hotels could not guarantee this...

After choosing this hotel after some extensive research on Trip Advisor (thanks everyone else for your reviews!!), we arrived in Venice on a Wednesday at Santa Lucia train station. We found the number of people wandering through the narrow Venetian streets overwhelming on the Friday and we were very happy we had done all we had wanted to do earlier in the week when it was quieter!

We used a water taxi (60 Euro direct or 90 Euro to go through the Grand Canal) to get to the hotel's private pier (this was a "must" on my Venice to-do-list) and we were met by attentive staff and an easy check in. It's worth noting that the hotel is also right next to a vaporetto which is very convenient although we never used this service as it's was only a few minutes walk to both the Rialto Bridge and the San Marco Piazza.

Our room was a suite on the second floor overlooking the courtyard and boasted a beautiful marbled bathroom with jacuzzi bathtub and a spacious bedroom with a large bed and a 'living' room in which there was a desk and a wardrobe and lounge and the minibar. The period furnishings and silk walls made us feel like we had exactly what we wanted - a luxury stay in a luxury hotel.

We used the hotel laundry service which although expensive was very efficient.

We found the hotel breakfast to be a very pleasant start to the day and ALL of the staff were extremely helpful with all of our needs including booking concerto tickets.

We also booked a gondola through the hotel which, going on information from the Internet is more expensive than finding your own gondolier and negotiating your price however we found it only slightly more expensive and well worth the hassle-free service! We were collected and dropped back off on the private pier and we took a bottle of prosecco and glasses from the hotel bar! Fabulous and definitely something that one should do on a trip to Venice!!

The hotel also organised our private water taxi back to the station upon our departure.

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone going to Venice that wants the entire "Venice Experience".

What a great Hotel! The people were all so nice. It was our first time in Italy and this hotel is a treasurer. We were very pampered. Our room overlooked the Grand Canal and it was beautiful and the room was large and had great closet space and bathroom was incredible.

This is the second time my wife and I have stayed here and when we next come to Venice this will be our first choice. Excellent, luxurious hotel in a quiet position overlooking the Grand Canal and near the Rialto bridge. Very comfortable rooms and attentive staff.

Stayed in a basic room...no view, but we were impressed with the size and classic Venetian decor. Small tables out front on the canal are perfect for coffee in the morning and wine in the evening...no bugs in April. Service was very good. Great location...enjoyed the breakfast. Wifi is extra here, but you get what you pay for....connections were flawless. Would not hesitate to return!
