“A taste of Old Venice - Almost Grand Style”
Reviewed 2 January 2014

This property sits right in front of the Grand Canal within walking distance to all the major Venetian attractions. It needs a little bit of maintenance and will be truly outstanding. The rooms are large and many have great views of the Grand Canal. They have a private boat dock which makes it super convenient to move around. The staff is nice. The breakfast room is a bit small and the selection needs to be updated. It feels crammed, but we are in Venice. Room decore is nice but outdated. With a little bit of refreshing and perhaps some cleanup this hotel will be tops.

Room Tip: Get one overlooking the Grand Canal

This hotel cannot be any easier to get to - we took the Allilaguna from the airport and got off at the Sant Angelo stop (also water taxi/bus), and the door to the hotel was about 25 feet from the dock. There is a nice bar area in front with free snacks during the evening. The room was nice, with a walk in closet, but you have to like the color red since the entire room was decked out in red. Staff was very friendly, and even contacted us to inform us of a labor strike with the water taxis the morning before we departed in order to make sure we had enough time to get back to the airport. Once you learn the alleys immediately behind the hotel, it's a short walk to Saint Marks square or the Rialto bridge. Nice thing about this place is that it is sort of a dead end, so you don't have the huge crowds that you deal with in the tourist spots.

Had a fantastic stay with the hotel. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The hotel is so close to everything and is situated right on the grand canal. It's very easy to get everywhere from the hotel. My room was large and lovely. Would definitely stay here again.

We spent 2 nights here. Room is elegantly decorated, spacious and and toilet is huge.

Location is excellent as it is right off water taxi stop. We could walk to any major attractions within 15 minutes. The hotel has some chairs in front facing the canal and we sat there at night drinking Italian wine and watching the night scene. Very romantic.

The staffs were very helpful and friendly.

Booked this hotel on the strength of other Tripadvisor reviews, all of which are spot on. Wonderfully helpful staff, all smiling and cheerful.
The location is perfect as the Vaporetto stop outside can take you both ways along the Grand Canal or opposite to San Toma, and has an Orancia stop for the airport water bus ( about 45 minutes ).
The hotel building is modern with a traditional feel, and spotlessly clean. Our room was a good size with an enormous bathroom, the walls and floor of which were marbled.
If you want a private, well positioned hotel with impeccable service, look no further.

We spent three nights here pre-cruise and it was just wonderful. We were greeted by the hotel manager who also recommended two restaurants: BeccaFico (general Mediterranean and excellent) and Fiore (true Venetian and a great experience). The staff spoke excellent English and was very helpful, getting us a fan for our room since it was unseasonably warm and reserving a gondola ride. The room was spacious (we were upgraded due to Virtuoso reservation) and very comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful and good. We highly recommend it!

This hotel is has a beautiful lobby, a very helpful staff, and luxuriously-appointed rooms. Very Venetian! The location faces the Grand Canal in an area that is relatively quiet. The vaporetto stops right next door, and the hotel has a dock right in front. The palazzo is an easy walk away with shops, restaurants, and music venues. We would definitely stay here again!

Room Tip: We faced the Grand Canal and thought it might be noisy. It was not noisy and the view was wonderful...
