This was our favorite hotel in Italy. We drove into Venice (from Florence) and were met by a water taxi that took us directly to the hotel - it was a real treat pulling up to the dock in front, unloading luggage and checking in. The staff at this hotel were first rate - the friendliest and most helpful that we found in Italy. The hotel itself is very nice. We stayed here two nights in mid-May. The room was beautiful, bed comfortable, bathrooms well appointed (including hair dryers). They even had a coffee pot in the room which we appreciated. There is a small seating area in front of the hotel on the Grand Canal. We enjoyed getting wine/beer from the bar area and sitting outside to watch the water traffic after dinner. It was a nice way to end the day. Again, the front staff was first rate. We would absolutely recommend this hotel.

This is a beautifully decorated 4 Star Hotel located on the Grand Canal. The staff was very professional and attentive. We were upgraded to the Royal Suite as we required 2 rooms. We stayed here 3 nights and felt that it was very quiet. Looking forward to a return visit. Please check out the wine bar. Highly recommend this fine Hotel.

We booked this hotel for a weekend in family. As we have 2 young kids, we asked for a suite.
From reception to check out, almost everything was simply excellent. The staff is great, they all speak english and are helpful and polite. The room was stunning, heavily decorated but that's Venice style so no complain here. It was really clean, made twice a day, and everything worked as expected. Our suite was facing the back yard and the view was really lovely.
The only disappointing thing was the room service. It took around 30min to come (which is ok), it is very pricey (but hey, this is a 4 star hotel in Venice), but the quality was just not there... We ordered a cheeseburger (20 euros...) and a pizza margarita. Both were far below expectations, probably just frozen food heated up on order. So although we had to put the kids to bed early we made sure to eat out on the second night.
Overall, it was a very nice experience and we definitely recommend this hotel.

Wonderful small hotel by the Grand canale! Staff was very good and knew what they were doing! The rooms were Venetian style decorated and good size and very clean! The location is very good you can walk every where if you want! I would go there again!!!

Palazzo Sant’Angelo is a small friendly hotel where it’s difficult not to become friends with the staff. Although located in the crowded sestiere San Marco, it is well off the beaten path between the Piazza and the Rialto bridge and subsequently gets little foot traffic. But it’s just a short walk to the Piazza, Rialto, Accademia or jump on the vaporetto just off the front door and be in Dorsoduro and away from the crowds in one stop. There is a private boat dock for the taxi to take you to dinner or a short walk to Campo Sant’Angelo and Campo Santo Stefano with plenty of non-touristy places to eat. If you can, pay the extra for the canal balcony suite as it is well worth the money. The front desk took care of our many demands and requirements for the cost of a polite grazie. I can’t name a single reason why I wouldn’t stay here again. On a two-week, five-city holiday, Palazzo Sant’Angelo was the best hotel of several that we have highly rated.

Room Tip: Get the canal view suite if you can and sleep with the balcony door wide open.
