“Wonderful first stay in Venice”
Reviewed 5 December 2013

From thousands of hotels on the internet we booked this small but excellent hotel. We did have some difficulty finding it but once there the staff couldn't have been more helpful. They gave us maps etc and soon we were realising how convenient a location it was. We walked to The Rialto Bridge,, St. Marks Square and explored nearby churches and squares. Many restaurants were nearby.

Room Tip: I would not book through Expedia or other such site. I would recommend booking through the hotel dir...

My husband and I stayed here during October. We found this place to be better than expected, it is a small hotel with great friendly service. The staff are very helpful to give tips of Venice. There are dining places nearby and St Marks square is only a 10 minute walk away. The room was very comfortable and spacious enough. We stayed in a room with ensuite, it had a small little balcony with opening doors, gave that romantic feel. I wouldn't hesistate to stay here again. Also, we found it easy with the directions provided by the hotel.

Stayed 3 nights in Oct. 2013. Good location: About 15 minute walk from Piazzale Roma (bus stop from the airport). We used the map on the hotel's website and got there without any wrong turns. You'll always see people walking around Venice with suitcases. Yes, we usually got lost while walking around as Venice is very confusing. The hotel sign hanging out front helped us find our way back every time we went out. The hotel is close to various parts of town and to the Vaporetto stops (water taxi). We bought a 3-day pass and used it often. We got checked once by the vaporetto ticket checkers. Helpful staff: Emanuele speaks English very well and makes great recommendations. Some of the others who work there don't speak it as well, but everyone if very friendly and helpful. Emanuele gave us a recommendation to our best dinner in Venice - Birraria La Corte. Get the branzini - it's a local sea bass. The restaurant is very close (if you don't get lost on the way). Rooms: We stayed in a triple the first night. It was in back. Nice size room, bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was large. I had the window open and we heard the dishes clinking in the restaurant kitchen downstairs. We had a double for the next two nights and we got the room shown in their photos. It's in front overlooking the plaza and canal. It was very nice, but the bathroom was a bit smaller. The windows are actually pretty well sound and light insulated so it was quiet and dark. There is an extra WC in the hall which was convenient for when you need a second one.The weather was cool & overcast, so we did not need AC or heating. The first night we had 1 or 2 mosquitos because I had the window open, but not lots like others have described. Breakfast: it's pretty good with breads, canned fruit cocktail, yogurt, fruit juices, fruit, and cereal, but some others that we stayed in later on our trip had more options. The cappuccino and hot chocolate was good. And the chocolate croissants were good too. Now that I think about it, it's better than what I have at home! Booking: I booked our stay thru the hotel website. They offered me a discount for paying in cash which was nice. The front door is always closed and you ring the bell to get in. There was always someone at the front desk until the last guest returned back to the hotel to let you in. I felt safe in Venice and in the neighborhood around the hotel. At the end of our stay we walked to the train station which was not a difficult walk. Steve from Los Angeles.

Room Tip: The room overlooking the plaza and canal was nice.

We stayed at the end of August with our two young children. We had a pleasant size room for the four of us with all that we needed. All the staff were charming and helpful and responsive to our girls. (Even giving us a cork screw to open our wine!) The hotel is perfectly situated, so that it is easy to walk there from the station, and then again in easy walking distance of the Rialto bridge. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and found it good value for money.

We stayed in this hotel on our honeymoon and enjoyed a lot. At least we had a very nice room with french balcony straight to small canal and square with a restaurant. The hotel is quite close to vaporetto stop and couple stops away from San Marco and yet close to the more interesting part of Venice (I don't think San Marco's area is the main or the best area of Venice, too touristic). Hotelstaff was nice and room was clean. We would absolutely stay there again!

Room Tip: Ask for the balcony to the canal and square!

We stayed there in August with my two teenagers. The location is excellent, the service was immaculate and breakfast was good. The rooms were clean and staff are very friendly. Before we traveled the hotel gave us the great, clear direction of how to get there make sure to follow that otherwise you will be lost.
If we ever go back to Venice we will stay there for sure. Thanks

We've just returned home from a wonderful short stay in Venice at the Locanda Stant'Agostin. We stayed here last year and decided to stay again when we planned our trip back to Venice and we were glad that we did! The staff is always very friendly, welcoming, and helpful! The rooms are clean and comfortable. The hotel is in a quiet part of Venice which is nice because it's quiet since it's away from the major tourist areas but still close enough to get the sights quickly. If we ever have another chance to return to Venice we will absolutely stay here again!

Room Tip: Try to ask for a room towards the back of the hotel; they're a little quieter and you can have t...
