The location was nice since it was in a residential neighborhood and away from the crowds. It was nice getting a discount for paying cash. The first night we found ants in our bed and asked that bedding be changed the next day. We continued to find ants every day somewhere in the room and even in the bed. For me the A/C was very poor but it is in an old building. I went to bed each night with a cold water bottle on my neck in order to cool off enough to get to sleep. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted . The person who checked us in did not really know where a self serve laundry was and it was right near the train station. It was great to be able to securely leave our luggage the last day we were in town. But when going back to get it I used the "toilette" in the hall and there was no toilet paper. In order not to bother anyone I peeked in an open cabinet in the hall and the woman who worked there I'm sure was cussing me out in Italian for doing this-not very friendly. One night when we came in late she seemed angry that we had done so. You have to leave your room key when leaving the hotel so they have to buzz you in after a certain time. The breakfast was decent.

I spent two nights at this hotel in July 2014. The location was perfect for us - quiet, and a short walk to the train station and major sites. The room was very nice and comfortable (very cool, important during the Venetian summer!), with excellent bathroom facilities. Staff were very friendly, and exceptionally helpful in assisting me in retrieving an item left behind when we checked out - much appreciated!

We stayed here in July, 2014. It is about a 25 minute walk from St. Mark's square and a 20 minute walk (if you don't get lost) from the train station. We enjoyed being in a quieter neighborhood in Venice, but it was not easy to get there with our bags from the train station. The hotel is very quiet with double paned windows. It is on the second floor with no elevator. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was simple, but good. The coffee was not good. The room had great air conditioning and a good sized bathroom and shower. Our comforter had a brown stain that looked like blood, upon arrival. The registration person came and took the comforter, but never brought a replacement during our two day stay. There were also ants in the room on our last morning there. I mentioned it to the check out person, but he did not want to come look at the room. It was a good price for the room, but I wouldn't stay here again.

The room and bathroom were very comfortable. Even included a bathtub. Breakfast was typical Italian, with pastries, fruit, and coffee. The staff was very accommodating. The hotel was close to shopping and restaurants, but was quiet at night. It was also close to the train station.

The room was nicely appointed. We did not have a view, but were offered one the second day. It was quiet and you turn your key in at the front desk before you leave each day. Breakfast is by the front desk and was not bad. Most of the front desk people were very nice to us and helpful pointing things out on the maps. The shower in our room had a half door that you could not open unless you put up the toilet seat. The bed was very comfortable. The only issue for some of us is that there is a staircase from the street to the entrance on the second floor that is steep and has about 18 steps. Carrying the bags up was a challenge, but the front desk person was nice enough to carry them down after we checked out. Finally, when they say they have a safe in the room, they mean about 1 foot wide. We could put our passports in it, but not our iPad.

I stayed at Locanda Sant'Agostin for a few days while visiting Venice in May and I was very happy with the experience of staying there.

The hotel was located in more of a residential neighborhood (by Venice standards), walking distance from the train station. I was happy that it was away from the mayhem of San Marco square, although you could walk there in 15-20 minutes. There were a few good non-touristy restaurants around.

The hotel was very small - almost like a large flat on a second floor of the building. You had to always leave the key at the reception; to get into the hotel you had to use a buzzer at the top of the stairs. The room was very stylish, clean and comfortable with the quality of sheets, furniture and bathroom fixtures usually found in four-star hotels. The windows led to the alley and a building right across.

The internet was free and worked well. The continental breakfast was good (by Italian standards). The staff was very polite and helpful. They gave good advise on the restaurants in the area. I reserved the hotel through their website, which had the same price as the other travel sites and I was offered a discount for paying cash.

In conclusion, I really enjoyed staying there and would stay there again!
