“Lovely!”
Reviewed 21 March 2014

I loved staying at this small hotel! The hotel was spotlessly clean, quiet and the woman who ran it was very helpful. I thoroughly enjoyed staying here. This hotel is slighly outside of Venice but getting into Venice is very easy (bus to a boat, with a picturesque 10 minute boat ride). The island of Lido itself was a fantastic place to chill out. There's a beautiful nature reserve very close to the hotel. So if you want to combine seeing Venice with some time to just chill out, this is the perfect place. If you're driving into Venice, this is a great place, as getting onto the island was a snap (there's a ferry that accepts cars, it's about $30 for 2 people and a car) and there was parking at the hotel. I would totally recommend this place to anyone going to Venice and wants to also relax at the end of the day- staying here made our already lovely stay in Venice that much nicer.

I went here with my girlfriend, and I couldn't think of a better place to stay. It's located next to a nature reserve so you can walk along a wonderful beach. They're pet friendly and our dog seemed to be very popular. Our room was quiet and the beds were comfortable. The lady who runs it is super friendly. Getting in and out of Venice is easy, there's a bus or you can take a cab to the ferry terminal. We had a car but there were no issues with parking.

The immediate dining options are limited, there's basically two bars and a (very good) restaurant, but that's it. Otherwise you'll have to go into the nearby town.

Breakfast was great, and the wifi worked wonderfully the entire time.

Whenever I stay at a hotel, I like to feel like I'm getting value for my dollar and I definitely felt that staying at Villa Beatrice. And when I return to Venice (spring 2015) I'll look to stay there again.

My boyfriend and I just got back from staying in this hotel and it was lovely. We were on the ground floor but there wasnt any noise to disturb us, breakfast was lovely and the lady who ran the hotel (I cant remember her name) was very helpful. She rang to find out when we were arriving so the room was ready when we got there and we got slightly lost on the buses and she managed to direct us there. The bus stop couldnt be any closer and provided you get on the right bus its really easy to find. it is a little bit of a journey in and out of venice but at the right time of year it would be great for the beach.

I just fell in love with this hotel. It is old fashion but very well preserved. You can walk to the beach, it's only 10 minutes away and the beach is not crowed, at least within the week. It's very easy to get to the ferry station where you take the vaporetto to Venecia. The bus stop is 50 metres away from the hotel. The breakfast is VERY good. The hotel stuff was very kind and helpful

There was nothing I didn't like from Villa Beatrice

First, the strong points. The hotel is in a quiet area that allows for a good night's sleep, and the air conditioning worked well even during the four hot days that we stayed there. The breakfast was delicious and the breakfast host was very accommodating with our group of six, setting a large table in the garden for us each day. The bedding and towels were clean and well made. The internet was fairly good for hotel internet.

Unfortunately, I cannot even give a rating of “average” to the hotel since there are many weak points that more than offset the strong points. The worst of which is the maintenance. In our bathroom alone, the shower was broken, as was the hair dryer, and the clothesline, the shower curtain, the toilet tank lid, the electrical outlet, and tissue dispenser. If just one thing was broken I would have asked for it to be repaired but when almost everything has been broken for an obviously long time, you know that it is going to stay that way.

The hotel is advertised as 3 star, but to me that means I would expect to find upgraded bathroom amenities (only small bottles of combination soap and shampoo were provided -- absent was bar soap, conditioner, lotion, cotton swabs, etc.). We were glad we had brought our own products. Similarly, there was no stationary, business facilities, staffed reception desk, restaurant or snack bar, newspapers, and so on. Since the website advertised, “superior services, among the best offered by 3-star hotels in Venice,” we were expecting quite a lot more than we found, especially since many 2 star hotels would provide more services.

Free parking was advertised but the information that was not advertised is that it is simple street parking on a very narrow street. The closest spot we found was quite far from the hotel, which is in the middle of a run-down area, with the hotel being the only business on a residential street that is lined on both sides with concrete fences.

The direct water shuttle running to Venice is advertised on the hotel site but what is not advertised is that it runs infrequently and is expensive. It is not included in the already expensive (€35 per person for 3 days) transit pass that is essential if you want to visit Venice. The time to get to Venice is about 1 hour including the 13 KM bus ride, water bus (Vaporetti) and transfer time.

Regarding eating options, there are two restaurant choices within walking distance of the hotel, and neither are above average.

These issues are not necessarily decision-breakers, but prospective clients should be aware that the website is written with rose-coloured glasses, and for me, the reality did not correspond with the expectations the tale created.

To end on a positive note, the beach was within walking distance. Outside of the serviced area, it was alluringly natural and rustic. Within the serviced area, we were able to hire a couple of umbrellas and three chairs for the day at €40. The chairs were comfortable and there was a steady stream of people that made for enjoyable people-watching. Our children loved the water, except for the stinging jellyfish.

Spent few days at Villa Beatrice in the end of July.
Nice place for fast reaching of Venice and have a rest at Adriatic seaside.
Realy frendly owner Beatrice and her staff, breakfast is ok, convenient rooms equiped by aircondition. Might recommend for the family vacation. Hope be back at next season.
Local trattorias at vicinity of villa should be much better.

Would recommend if you are OK being about 30 minutes from Venice. It is ideal if you want to spend a day or two near a nice beach that is about 5 min walk from the hotel. Its a cozy, comfortable hotel (or more like a bed&breakfast) with a nice patio area. Only minor negative is that both mornings the breakfast OJ was a little sour, otherwise everything was pretty much perfect. Shower was good too, unlike the much more expensive hotel we stayed at in Rome.
