Charming hotel

Review of Albergo Marin
5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 19 Sept 2018via mobile
Stayed here with my Aunty for 3 nights and it was in a superb location .. 2 minutes walk from Grand Canal..
less than 10minutes walk from train station & bus station
Rooms were lovely ... dining room was cosy and just right
Bar choice was limited but there’s enough to suit your taste
Wine was a very good price for a bottle
Sign posted to Rialto bridge & St marks square ..
water bus was nearby in the Grand canal
Would recommend this hotel to anyone

The hotel is very clean and the breakfast is free. The breakfast was actually pretty good and the coffee was tasty. This is located VERY close to the train station. When you check in, you get a complimentary drink and potato chips. Our showers colorful lights did not work and the steam function didn’t work either even though it was advertised. They tried to fix it but to no avail. Overall it was still a good stay!

Ciao Michael,

thank you so much for your feedback! We will surely put a look at the shower as it didn't give us any problem, maybe it was a temporary disservice.

Hope to see you next time

Giacomo

Love Albergo Marin! Second stay at this great little hotel tucked away in a very convenient corner of Venice. Our trip started off on a bad note with lost luggage- Albergo Marin's staff, Enrico, and especially Giacomo tried to help us- they spent time calling the airport on our behalf and did what they could to help mitigate the situation. The staff was warm, friendly, informative and the hotel, without question was clean, convenient and comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful and a very good start for our busy days. Arriving back to Albergo Marin in the evening was always like returning to our own private sanctuary- quiet, calm, and welcoming. Grazie Giacomo and all the staff- when we return to Venice- we will return to Albergo Marin! Paul and Carole, Boston MA USA, August 2018

The room is null. You sleep and your noise is almost on the WC. Very small, the equipments are nothing, the bed is bad,
everything is really bad.
in the breakfast, you have a very little choice, and if something finished, you have to answer for it and wait a very long time to get a little quantity which vanish in seconds

Room tip: run run run run

Dear Younes,

we want to thank you so much for your feedback. I got a good idea after that and this is very important in our work. First, I am very happy you enjoyed our location, luckily there is something good for you. Concerning the room, I consider a standard double room for which you paid on average 93.00€ per night ( two of you) in Venice in July (in a good location, as written), despite being small, shouldn't have free wifi connection, kettle with complimentary tea, SKY tv with a bouquet of around 600 free channels, independent air conditioning (in a warm July), working very well, screens on the windows to avoid mosquitos when you open them and a rather new bathroom. I also forgot there was our poor breakfast (complimentary), so I followed your interesting suggestion: RUN RUN RUN! I woke up early (even if I personally work till late and with care to you and our other guests) and went making some jogging. I run a lot. So when I came back I had a shower and then went to our breakfast hall to stay light, being our choice so limited. It was so easy to choose: at the very beginning, since I don't like the exposed american coffee nor hot or cold milk, I decided to get a cappuccino, made with excellent local coffee and daily milk, then I asked for a tea (it is possible to choose among 10/12 different flavours). As I am a big fan of sweets for breakfast, I saw there were many different kinds of croissant (empty, with jam, cream, chocolate, cream chantilly, etc) of different sizes, two types of yogurth, cereals, muesli, hot chocoloate (only on request, unfortunately), various jams, nutella, honey, butter, canned fruit (peach and mix), gluten free mais tablets, rusks, three different kinds of packed cookies, bread (of 4/5 different kinds on average) and the lady of the breakfast hall told me she prepares cakes sometimes, has gluten free bread and soy milk. So it was very easy for me to choose, since I also preferred not to consider salty flavours as there were cheese, salami and ham, chicken wurstel, boiled and scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, olives and pickles.

Thanks again for your feedback

Regards

Giacomo

P.s. As we change all our beds when they are 3/4 years old I do agree yours could be ready to get substituted

If you like walking like me, I suppose this is a perfect location for this. Everything in a walking distance, there is a grocery store nearby if you don´t want to spend much money in restaurant. Room was very spacious and cozy, with working air conditioning or heating. Also a lot of facilities in the room. Staff without any problem, efficient and careful. I recommend.

We loved this hotel that was the final stop on our 2 week tour of Italy. Giancomo greeted us on our arrival and graced us with a very special welcome in the breakfast area. The room was great, our was completely remodeled and had everything we needed. We chuckled with the "disco" shower in the bathroom, complete with coloured LED lights, a variety of shower heads and even a CDplayer/radio. The location is perfect, literally steps from the Grand Canal but away from the crowds. It's a short walk, from the bus/taxi park at Piazzale Roma and the train station. All the staff were friendly. The continental breakfast had plenty of choices. We would return here in a heartbeat

Room tip: Room 104 was completely remodeled and a great bathroom!
