You could not ask for a better, more chic, welcoming and efficient host than Brittany who helped us make the most of our three day stay in her charming B&B on the Grand Canal.

Our room was comfortable and beautifully tastefully decorated albeit that it was very dark and had no view at all - only the suites have canal views. That said the communal lounge is light and airy and looks over the water which meant that the excellent breakfasts could be enjoyed while watching the gondolas glide past the window.

Room Tip: Some of the rooms have no views so be sure you know what you are booking

What a lovely B&B on the Grand Canal. We had a room overlooking the canal and were mesmerized by all the traffic on the waterway. With windows closed there was no intrusive noise and it kept the mozzies at bay. The room was large, comfortable with it's own bathroom and although equipped with modern conveniences it retained an old world charm with dark and heavy wood and original beams. Breakfast is served in a delightful dining room on the ground floor at vaporetto level, with Valentina on hand to dispense advice on how to navigate Venice. The ever helpful Brittany organised restaurant bookings and taxis and the young lady that does room service is A1 - it's the first time anybody ever folded my clothes and put them away and generally tidied up my mess. Lots of success to you in the future.

We spent 6 wonderful days at Cima Rosa in a suite with a canal view. The room was very comfortable with good air conditioning and a modern spotless bathroom. It was a perfect relaxing hideaway from the daily sights and crowds in Venice. Our hostesses rapidly became our new friends, as we enjoyed their company each day at breakfast. Brittany and Valentina provided advice and recommendations about transportation, restaurants, sightseeing and all things Venice. Valentina met us at the canal when we arrived to help us with our luggage. Melody and Gladys prepared and served a great breakfast and made sure our room was immaculate. We highly recommend Cima Rosa for an intimate, peaceful and unique experience.

I used the above title in my first review of CimaRosa (dated 13th March 2016) and perhaps it seems flamboyant or even extravagant but I realise having enjoyed this second visit that CimaRosa really deserves such superlatives! If you can read my first review for detail and description.
But I want to use this review to emphasise some of the really good reasons to choose this hotel. We were welcomed back by the owner Brittany and her team of Valentina, Melody and Gladys so warmly it made us feel special and like very welcome friends! Everything about the accommodation had maintained the high standard we experienced before. This hotel is a boutique hotel so if you are looking for a large hotel with restaurants, bars, spas and a pool this won't be for you - but for most tourists coming to Venice they want to experience this unique city full of wonderful restaurants, bars and cafes and want the perfect base to explore from - and this is it!
Arriving at the St Stae vaporetto stop by water bus or water taxi is a realistic five minute stroll ( and a very easy one at that) - this is a great help for the uninitiated Venice visitor. The location in the charming, quiet and peaceful sestiere( district) of Santa Croce is such a welcome contrast to the main tourist and crowded San Marco on the other side of the Grand Canal and yet these tourist attractions are easily reached by walking or waterbus. However for us after numerous visits to this city we so adore, we enjoy to soak up the charm of wandering through the beautiful sestieres on the Santa Croce, San Polo and Dorsoduro side of the Grand Canal. Here you will find artisan shops, delightful galleries and some truly wonderful restaurants as well as some of the prettiest Campos , Calles and Canals in the city.
Back to the CimaRosa - you enter the hotel through an exquisite walled courtyard and then into the converted Palazzo fronting the Grand Canal. The conversion has been done sympathetically with subtle, refined style that emphasises the good taste of the owners. You will find time spent in the building therapeutic and calming.
Breakfast - simply delicious- is served in a comfortable breakfast/ sitting room with Grand Canal views. Melody still makes a perfect cappuccino and serves the most delicious fruit salad!
Brittany and Valentina will be ready to help and advise on local restaurants and any other logistics for getting around Venice.
By now reading this review you will gather how much we love this hotel. We travelled with friends on this visit - they too understood why thi

My husband and I stayed here and absolutely loved it - cannot say enough about the hospitality of Brittany, Valentina, and Melody! The place is beautiful and quaint in a quiet area but just a minute or two from the Ste. Stae stop! We had a room that overlooked the grand canal and it was awesome - comfortable and spacious! great breakfast in the morning in a lovely room!! Wished we could spend more time in the room but there was just too much to do!

When we left we had a really early flight out - took the water taxi to the main area and Brittany gave us the number of the taxi company which came immediately and got us to the airport really fast!!
