“Brilliant location - if you can find it :-)”
Reviewed 12 August 2012

Stayed here for an overnight sunset experience of Venice and got just that - brilliant.
This is a very small hotel and I hightly recommend using your Smartphone/GPS to find it as you will need to turn several narrow streets, corners and the general bustle of Venice to get here. They know this and they try to giude as best as possible.

Small hotel/house with only a few rooms, I stayed on the base level in a somewhat large doubleroom with kingsize bed, firm but excellent, nice large bathroom, very clean and airconditioned. No complaints at all! The price was somewhat steep (€95) but hey - - its Venice!

Breakfast was your typical italian experience - no thrills at all and generally boring. Go somewhere else for your gourmet cravings....

Great tip - the hotel is just 30m from Grand Canal and its own little landing platform, which it not publically accesable - sit here with a glas or botlle of....something and watch the world go by!

We were given good directions to find the hotel as it's hidden away from the main streets. The room was a good size, clean and comfortable and we could even see the Grand Canal from our window. Breakfast is basic but enough for us. The owners are very friendly and helpful. We had a great time and would definitely stay there again.

We stayed here for 3 nights in June 2012. The location was absolutely perfect - close to the centre of the action (about 2 mins walk from the San Silvestro vaporetto stop) but away from the very touristry areas. Close by is a small cafe and supermarket which helps to keep the costs of staying in Venice down, as well as some well-priced restaurants where you may actually hear an Italian accent! We got the "dodgy" ground floor room, but it was fine and full of character. Perhaps a little dark, but who goes to Venice to stay in the hotel room?

The only downside was the breakfast, which was a little spartan compared to other B&Bs we've stayed at in continental Europe.

Location wise, the hotel is situated quite close to the Rialto Bridge (touristic attraction). We were greeted by a lady (one of the owners) who was extremely kind, helpful and spoke very good English. The rooms were clean and just loved the decor inside giving it a real authentic look and feel of Venice. The bathroom was very well maintained too. The hotel offers free WIFI and you get pretty decent speed. They serve you just the basic breakfast (bread, croissants, fruit salad, yoghurt etc). Just around the hotel you could find some shops and restaurants.

Finding the location of the hotel can be difficult for a few but there is nothing to worry about. You could give them a ring and they would help you out.
1) From Rialto Mercato vaporetto stop it takes only 8-10 minutes by walk to the hotel.
2) From San Silvestro vaporetto stop it takes hardly 5 minutes by walk to the hotel. (best option)

You can also walk all the way to St Mark's Square via Rialto like we did. Would be a wonderful experience to explore Venice and don't miss out to visit the tiny Murano,Burano and Torcello islands.

Overall, the hotel offers nice and clean rooms and great service. Highly recommended!!!!!!

This guest house is well located , 7 mns walk from the famous Rialto Bridge in Venice.
We had the vivaldi room which was quite big (we had an extra middle room with a sofa bed). The bathroom was small but modern. The hotel was very clean.
A few rooms are on both side of the breakfast room (so was our room) which can mean that you have some loud people having early breakfast while you try to sleep.
the breakfast was ok, the croissants seem to come out of a packet and not straight from the bakery. They have yoghurt as well and some biscottes. The coffee was good.
We were there in early May and the room was quite expensive, but no room is cheap in Venice.
I would have given it a good rating (but trip advisor only offers very good or average)

The instructions from their email were not very detailed, so I wrote the instructions from the San Silvestro Vaporetto stop

Go straight down the alley after descending the stop
take 1st left
take 1st right
you will reach a square called Campo S. Aponal
take 2nd left calle de mezo
Straight
Past canal straight down towards alla ferrovia (sign on the wall)
go Straight
Pass the pasticerria Rizzardini on your left, there will be a restaurant on your right (with table and chairs outside)
you will see a little street
Then turn immediately left into calle del forno
Straight down
Then right at the end into calle dollar
The hostel will be in your right before the corte pertriana door

TIP: remember the address number 1451, if you have gone too far, the numbers will be going down or up depending on the directions you have taken.

We were afraid that our room will be on first floor. There were bad reviews about it. But in fact we've got this room and it was perfect. A little noisy, but for a short period of time.
Clean, clear air and good staff. Also a nice european breakfast.
