“Beautiful little piece of Venice”
Reviewed 17 February 2014 via mobile

We chose this hotel for its location and for its style, we wanted a lovely boutique hotel to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. As this was our first time in Venice and we only had 2 days we wanted to make sure it was special. This hotel did not disappoint! After reading reviews (although I can always see through the nitpickers!) I was a little worried so I emailed ahead to let them know it was our first anniversary and would like to upgrade our room. They got back to me straight away with my options, prices and also gift ideas for the room on arrival.

On arrival it took us approximately 10 mins to find the hotel from st Marks square, any one that complains about the location, should not be going to Venice!! Yes you have to walk through narrow alleys to get to it but that is Venice, you feel safe and it is part of the charm. I love the entrance over the the little bridge to reception, it is beautiful when lit up at night!

We were told we had been given one of the best rooms in the hotel, it was beautiful, over looking the canal out front and we had a bottle of sparkling wine on ice waiting for us. The room / suite was stunning for what we had paid for a standard room (we were told to pay for the upgrade on checkout) very Venetian in style, huge, very clean and nothing looked worn or tired. If I was to be picky, the only thing I would say is the bathroom was small with only a shower, no bath, however it was clean and perfectly adequate for our 2 night stay, but for such a beautiful room and after seeing some of the pictures of the bathrooms with jacuzzi baths on the booking site, such a romantic room deserves a romantic bathroom, but it was clear that with the layout of these grand old buildings that the best had been done with the space available.

The breakfast room was beautiful and clean, serving until 10 or 10.30, I can't remember but for late risers like us this was great and there was still a good and warm selection.

Great location for sightseeing, less than 5 mins walk to St Marks Square.

On check out we were not charged for a thing, the room upgrade and wine were complimentary, so a huge thank you to the hotel management for making our first anniversary such a memorable one.

All in all I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone, I most definitely would not need to look around if I were to return to Venice as, for price, location and a real taste of Venice, I would just book to stay here again.

We stayed here for 3 nights recently and had a fantastic time. From the moment we stepped through the door we were made to feel welcome. We were advised of the services the hotel offers and a polite gentleman showed us to our room, assisting us with our luggage and showed us the rooms amenities.

The inside decor was very pretty and authentic and was a great start to our short trip to Venice. Breakfast was included and there were plenty of choices of food and beverages. It was served in a lovely breakfast room fitting to the rest of the hotel.

Upon departure, we were able to keep our bags in a locked cupboard in reception for the day so we could make the most of our final day before our flight home. The hotel itself is in a great location for St Marks Square and to be honest we walked most of Venice from the hotel (if you like walking). The famous Rialto bridge is a short distance also and if you cross over it to the other side you will find many more delights.

All in all a brilliant hotel and we would definitely recommend.

As title.

The hotel really is fantastic, we had room 310 which was relatively small but beautifully decorated with a lovely en-suite .

We had trouble finding the hotel from St.Marks square when we first arrived, however it is really easy once you get your bearings.

If you do book this hotel, please book a room on the second floor, people with rooms on the ground floor and first floor didn't seem to have as good of an opinion as we did due to the fact the ground floor rooms are straight off the reception, and the 1st floor room are directly off the breakfast room, which apparently begin to clean and make noise etc at 3am.

Overall we had a brilliant 3 days in Venice, and the hotel really topped our stay off.

Thank you Ca Dei Conti.

Lovely hotel, clean, nice breakfast and we got an upgrade as the conti querini room building was empty. We did have a look at it and the carpets were vile and I was disappointed within but we got a superior room in the end just a level below a suite. U don't wanna be on the ground floor because of the noise from the lobby or the first floor for the noise of the breakfast room. Luckily we were on the 2nd floor....perfect!!! Definitely pay extra for the American breakfast it's delicious. All staff speak great English. As soon as u leave the airport turn left and just keep walking to the vaporretto and pier 1 will take you to San zaccaria. If the directions from there look confusing just google maps it. We got there by walking in 4 minutes from the stop. Google maps is amazing if u get lost. The vaporretto water bus is 15 euro each and it takes a good 90 minutes to get to venice from Marco Polo. We stayed in room 303. Very happy with it. U get what u pay for if u wanna go cheap u get a small room. Would stay here again if we came back. The location is amazing right round the corner from st marks square.

Lovely hotel near st marks square. Very clean, comfortable, quiet. Good choice of breakfast. Friendly obliging staff. I would go again. Hotel sorted a water taxi from airport, cheaper than just pitching up, with a guide to hotel on first contact.

Room Tip: Upper floors have low ceilings, but taller friends were able to change rooms as in January the hotel...

Stayed here from 26th 29th December 2013. We had 3 rooms all in various locations around the hotel (one was in the door opposite main hotel). The room we had was on the ground floor to the left of the reception desk and had a lovely view of an alley and brick wall. Temperatures for December was a lovely 14C but obviously this is far too cold for some people as the heating was set to max in the hotel, therefore spent the first night sweating as the room AC didn't work and we couldn't leave the window open being on the ground floor.

Breakfast was the usual continental rubbish. You have the option to pay 2.50 euros extra for bacon and eggs but I wouldn't bother as it tastes like rubber.

Hotel Bar..... If you could call it a bar is located above the breakfast hall and is a small cabinet with a few tables outside. The problem is that its outside everyones rooms which was really strange.

Rooms were ok they certainly needed a paint and some furniture replacing. Every room had a safe but ours wasn't fixed to the wall so put all your valuables in one place to make it easy for a thief to come in take everything in one go.

Would I go back probably not....

After booking and paying three months in advance for the Conti Querini Room at this hotel we were advised it was closed. We were shown to a room that even Quasimodo would have had trouble standing up in...We were then given an upgrade to a "broom closet " but it did have a canal view. Our biggest problem with the hotel was the Reception 'Managers' attitude !!
The breakfast was generous and all one would want, the breakfast and housekeeping staff were most accommodating and no fault could be found. I must mention another Manager did try to resolve our problem, but it was all too little too late.
We were very disappointed with this hotel, the web site needs to be addressed, we certainly did not get what we paid for or what was advertised, and the management need some serious looking at. In all honesty I would not recommend this hotel to friends, there's just too many more to choose from.
