We stayed at The Villa Igea for 4 nights! It's a beautiful quaint boutique like hotel! Great clean rooms, lovely breakfasts and fabulous staff! We stayed here for our 10th wedding anniversary and were so glad we did! Great location, we couldn't have chosen better if we'd have tried!!!!

My room was the largest of all hotels I stayed in a three week trip to Stockholm, Paris, Venice, Florence and Rome. Super clean, great air conditioning, convenient to everything. The front desk or breakfast room staff wasn't overly friendly, but it wasn't a make or break issue. One hint - if you arrive later at night from the airport, and take the boat bus, try to get off close to San Zaccharia, and call in advance to get directions. That way you won't worry about arriving by boat and wandering around trying to find your hotel. We asked another hotelier and they provided good directions, but we were super nervous about not finding it!

My husband and I and our 15 year old son stayed at the Igea 2 nights, July 8 and 9. The staff could not have been more accomodating and solicitous of us. Everything was spotless, we had a lovely view of the courtyard, and it was a perfect location for both the vaporetto and for walking. Breakfast offerings were many and delicious--both American and European. We all loved Venice, and would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a real Venice "feel" and great staff (thanks Matthei!).

We stayed here for 2 nights after our cruise. Water taxi from port to Zacharia was 120 Euro. expensive but worth it. Arrived early and greeted by great and friendly staff. Room was brilliant, location fabulous. Vaporetto to train station cost 6.20Euro each, one way. Directions to hotel...once off at Zaccharia look for Hotel Danili..pink coloured building. Go over two bridges to your right, there is a restaurant with green shades, the lane way is nearby. . Breakfast was brilliant, we would definetely stay here again. Loved it and Venice even though it was raining for the two days we were there. Also looking for Rialto Bridge, go to clock tower in San Marks square and following the yellow signs up high on the walls.

Stayed here for 3 nights with my husband and 2 adult children. You will most likely meet Tomaso at the front desk. You may think he is quiet and not friendly, but he is a very nice person and very helpful. He never hesitated to help with all aspects of our stay. The 2 rooms we got were spacious and spotless. The location is perfect. You were a block away from St. Mark's which was perfect. You could catch any vaporetto and any line from the San Zaccaria stop right outside our door. We were contemplating staying on the Grand Canal but really were happy with this choice. Great value for the money too.

Loved this little gem. I stayed last June and would love to go back. The staff was friendly and room was beautiful. We actually had the upstairs apartment and could not have been happier. Tomas and Mateo were professional without being stuffy and the morning staff at breakfast was always ready to cater to us. Just meters away from Piazza San Marco, Great location! Must see Joseph Martin play in the Piazza if you stay in Venice. I will definately return one day. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

We stayed three nights. Like all Island hotels it was expensive but included a nice breakfast. However it saved on taxi and transport costs and was right next San Marco Square. Water taxis are exorbitantly priced with 40 to 100 Euros not uncommon. The public water bus is fine and only around 24 Euros per day ...

The staff was excellent with the manager being particularly helpful. He was born and lives in the city and was a wealth of information. the only problem we had was that we took a "free" service over to Moreno ... the glass island it took us over alright but did not bring us back.

I see many reviews that refer to small room size ... true they are not as big as equivalently priced North American ones ... but still we found them no problem.

If you want a gondola ride these to are expensive (80 to 110 Euros). However ask at breakfast if any of the other guests are interested and split up the cost is much better.

Had no other problems and would recommend it highly.
