The location was good and the owner was very nice which is a plus. But the room was freezing cold at night and there was no heater although the owner kept saying there was and that I might have pressed the wrong button. I let it go by because it was only for one night but I suggest to invest in heaters because it gets really cold and since not enough blankets are provided It can get almost unbearable. It is a pity that a place that can be a nice experience gets ruined by a freezing cold night without heat. Maybe they will do something about it so people might be inclined to return.....I know I wouldn't though! Sorry, I don't like to give bad reviews but there is really not much to say about this place other than it would be a lot better if it had heat at night.

Definitely not a place I would recommend. It was fine for the night, but nothing super nice about it. It was clean which was good, but it had a very strong smell that I noticed the minute I walked in the door. The wifi connection was not good and only worked in the check-in office. The room was freezing cold at night too. Fine for a one night stay, but would definitely not recommend it for long stays.

Owner was good at communicating (received a confirmation email as soon as I made the booking through this site), good location as the place is not in the center of tourist hotels but on a quiet road where the locals live, and it's only 5 mins (fast) walk to Piazza San Marco. The room also included small kitchen, and the place seemed like it has been recently renovated - very clean. Would have been nice to have the heaters on, as the night was little bit chilly.

If you are looking for a quiet, cozy, confortable and convenient place to stay, Ca´Venezia is the right place for you. Located around half an hour in Vaporetto ("cheapest" way to move around Venice: 7 euro each single trip) from Santa Lucia train station, Ca´Venezia is at a 10-15 minute walking distance (at a strolling pace) from the must-see spots: Piazza San Marco, the Rialto, Ca' Rezzonico...
Emmanuel, the runner of the apartments, was very attentive and provided all the necessary indications in order to reach Ca´Venezia and move around Venice.
From our own experience, we recommend walking around Venice; buying Vaporetto passes, unless you are quite short in time, is not really necessary.
Ca´Venezia is also at around one hour distance in Alilaguna Blue from Marco Polo airport.
Enjoy!

If Emmanuel, who runs this hostel with his father, does not tell you he over booked and relocate you, the hostel is great. The bathroom was dirty and not cleaned during my stay. If it hadbeen cleaned the hostel is fantastic. Emmanuel and his father are incredibly lovely.

However, if you are in a room with spare beds and he has an offer for all beds Emmanuel will tell you, very apologetically, that he accidentally overbooked. This is what happened to me.

He told me he had found me a room in Hotel Astoria San Marco. In his email to me of 22 May telling me this, he said he had made a reservation for me at " Hotel Astoria's single bedroom (just sharing a bath)". The room at Hotel Astoria was a room shared with another person, I did not know. He emailed me again on 24 May saying he could personally guarantee the accomodation was a single room and it was a nice hotel. On 24 May he told me he had seen the rooms at Hotel Astoria and promised they were very nice as he regularly relocated his guests to it.

The stay at Hotel Astoria was awful. Straight after checking in to Hotel Astoria I tried to contact Emmanuel. He would not respond. I spent the day and night walking from one hotel to another trying to find a room somewhere else. Everything was fully booked. I did not see any of Venice. I spent the night in tears walking around Venice and checked out early the next morning. Luckily the man I hadtomshare a room with was lovely. He was equally appalled at Hotel Astoria. E beds were broken. There was no hot water. The bathroom was filthy. The bedroom handle was smashed off. The dot had a large hole smashed into it. It was the size,of an attic with a sharply sloping roof, it,hit your head when you sat up in one of the beds. There was waste smeared over the toilet. The reception staff told the person who I had to share with, he would be happy as he was sharing a room with a woman. He was as disgusted as I was.

If somehow you can guarantee you will not pay a deposit, pay for an airfare, and be told you can't stay at this hotel, it is great.

Room Tip: Somehow ensure you get to stay at this hotel.

Accommodations in Venice are very expensive, but I had luck to find this place around 33 euro a night for a solo traveler. It situated in the quiet street near San Marco, there's a supermarket nearby which is very convenient. I stayed in a 3 bed mix dorm with shower. The kitchen is actually in the dorm room itself. Not very big but good enough for simple cooking. Although there's no knife and no chopping board and only one pot and one strainer, you have a little fridge to use and there are plates, dinner knife, fork and spoon to use.

The only thing I would say the downside is that there is not much socializing atmosphere in this hostel because each room is actually an apartment itself. The entire time I only met two traveler but they are gone most of the time during the day.

Otherwise, for a few day of stay and for someone like me who just want to check out the city, this place is perfect. The shower works great, the bathroom is super clean, and very quiet at night. I would recommend for someone who is a single traveler like me to stay there in this expensive city.
