My husband & I spent 2 wonderful Venetian nights at the Palazzo Abadessa in early May. Perfectly located, it's in a quiet neighborhood on a canal in the Cannaregio section of Venice, less than a 5 minute walk to a vaporetta stop. The hotel is authentically decorated with antiques and beautiful chandeliers and the staff is welcoming and accommodating.
The garden is absolutely gorgeous and was a great place to enjoy breakfast (which are very good) before a busy day. After walking around Venice we quickly learned there are very, very few green spaces. I made sure to spend some time in the garden in the afternoons, and several times tourists would peak in and ask, "what is this place?" So, the garden alone makes the hotel very unique in Venice. If your planning on visiting Venice -- look no further than Palazzo Abadessa

My husband and I and my parents spent three fantastic nights at Palazzo Abadessa in April. The hotel is gorgeous, the grounds are serene and the entire staff is amazing. Everyone really went out of their way to make us feel at home. The location is perfect and the breakfast is excellent. I highly recommend Palazzo Abadessa!!!

My partner and I stayed here for a romantic weekend away. I did extensive research on hotels in Venice before booking Hotel Palazzo Abadessa and we were not disappointed. Thank you! Fabulous authentic interior, the staff were lovely and very informative, great room (although slightly small/cozy, but suited us fine), quite location so we slept very well with windows open and not woken up early in the morning. However just tuck away off one of the main streets so perfect base for exploring the city but a minutes walk and your in the middle of the bustle. The breakfast is yummie with fresh fruit, pastries, cereal, toast, boiled eggs, cheese and hams & of course juices, tea and coffee. We ate breakfast out in the wonderful haven of the garden every morning which was a joy!
We arrived earlier than normal check in and our room was already ready, cozy but just fine for us. Room 12. The ceilings were low and beamed with beautifuly intricate paintings on them. Merano glass lights and luxurious fabric walling with heavy draped curtains. There was a complimentary bottle of presseco in the fridge chilling and complimentary bowl of heavy draped curtains. There was a complimentary bottle of presseco in the fridge chilling and complimentary bowl of fruit. There was also a well stocked mini bar. The only thing I would say let it down was the shower cubicle, it was a little dated but I have to say worked perfectly fine. I would definitely whole hartedly reconend staying here, you will not be disappointed! I also wanted to add that we chose to have a private water taxi/speed boat from the airport to our hotel and although it cost 110euro it was soooooo worth it!! We felt as if we were famous or/& on a James Bond movie set, just the two of us in this beautiful polish timber speed boat, speeding towards Venice and our first glimpses of the canals took our breath away, and docking on the hotels private jettie (not sure of the terminology here) was unforgettable!! Thank you for an amazing visit to your amazing and magical city.

My wife and I spent 3 nights in this idyllic hotel in late April 2013. We used the water taxi service direct from the airport, bit expensive €110 one way but the easiest most direct route as the hotel has it's own docking point.
Our room was amazing with fabric walls and old beams, we were welcomed with a bottle of prosecco and some fresh fruit.
We ate the buffet breakfast in the unique small walled garden.
The hotel was well positioned just outside the main thoroughfare and close to all amenities
The staff were all very accommodating, recommended several restaurants which were excellent.
Would not hesitate to recommend The Hotel Palazzo Abadessa

We stayed here for two nights in May and found the hotel to be everything we expected after reading the reviews over the last year. This hotel is an absolute gem! From it's lovely quiet secluded garden to the clean and well appointed rooms to the absolutely wonderful pleasant and helpful staff this hotel deserves the highest praise. Complementary Proseco, fruit and chocolates in the room and cocktails on the Saturday evening out in the garden. We felt welcome from the moment we arrived and would love to return. It is well located and close to all of the main attractions although once in the garden you could be forgiven for believing you were miles away. We would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

My husband and I spent three nights in room 21 at the Hotel Palazzo Abadessa. The room was very nice; however, it should be noted the bathroom is located in an upstairs loft and requires climbing a flight of stairs each time you have the need to go there. The hotel has an absolutely beautiful garden and it is quiet nice to sit in while enjoying a glass of wine. The peonies were in full bloom while we were there and their aroma was fantastic. The staff was very professional and courteous and the hotel is in a great location while being a little off the beaten path. All in all a very nice stay.

Room Tip: The bathroom in room 21 is in a loft area above the bedroom. The stairs are a bit difficult to mane...

Absolutely stunning hotel. Nice breakfast that can be taken in the small but pretty and quiet garden. Room and overall décor amazing, lovely attention to detail. Location quite good, close to gondola crossing to Rialto market.
