“The Best of Venice!”

What a treat! My husband and I loved everything about the Abadessa Hotel. Located in a quiet neighborhood yet central to everything in Venice, we could not have asked for anything more. Being there at the beginning of October meant spectacular weather without the huge summer crowds. This only added to the experience of our stay at this beautiful hotel. We were treated as if we were family. The staff went out of their way to offer helpful advice on places to see and restaurants. Our room was quite small but was fine for us. The bathroom was clean and adequate. The breakfast buffet was delicious! Probably our favorite area of the hotel was the beautiful, quiet garden. After a day of touring in Venice, it was a delight to sit back and relax with a cool beverage to gather our second wind! We heartily recommend the Abadessa to one and all!

Where do I even begin. Let me begin by saying that if you are on the fence about booking this place, spend the money and do it. It lives up to everything you read about it, and everything they say about themselves. I had high expectations for this hotel, based on the photos and the other reviews. We were spending Thanksgiving in Venice, so I wanted it to be nice and I booked the presidential suite. (Note: Spend the extra and get this room.) From the first moment we got there, I knew it was going to be absolutely special. It's kind of tucked away on its own little canal, and has it's own water gate, next to a bridge. It's filled with history, everything is 500 years old here...the floors, ceilings, paintings, fixtures, frescoes. Central to EVERYTHING and in a pretty vibrant area. The room was a dream, two floors with a nice lounge area upstairs where you can sit around and drink wine. Big bathroom even by American standards. Floor to ceiling windows that open onto a balcony over the canal. Big comfy bed. The hotel staff were some of the nicest we have ever had, and super helpful. My mom sent a "Happy Thanksgiving" email to us via the website address, and the staff gave it to us at breakfast. BTW-,Abadessa has a great breakfast service. I can honestly say that our trip to Venice would not have been as special if we had stayed somewhere else.

We stayed at this beautiful hotel along with our wedding guest. We had eleven rooms and every room was a different slice of Venice. The staff was amazing and they contributed making our Venetian wedding a wonderful and memorable experience that is being talked about in Jamaica even now over two months later. My wife will never forget the playing of the wedding march with the entire staff applauding as she descended the stairs to get to the water taxi. You will not regret this choice.

Room was stylish, extremely clean, well appointed, wonderful heating/cooling control, with very comfortable beds. Another feature worth pointing out was that the hotel was in the heart of Venice and close to the shopping street and water bus station and very quiet despite being near to a busy environment with fantastic garden. The staff were extremely helpful, polite, and attentive to a guests needs.

Abadessa is not a typical hotel by any means. Large courtyard, variety of unique very good quality rooms, nice ballroom, quiet, very friendly and accommodating staff. We have stayed here twice and it inspired us in many ways. I am not sure we will ever stay at another Venice hotel. We will be back. The most enjoyable way to arrive and depart is by water taxi direct to their canal door. It is not busy and always feels calm when Venice just a few blocks away can be so busy and crowded.

We initially had booked for one night but liked the hotel - and it's location - so much that we stayed for a second night. The staff were attentive and helpful (particularly Matteo) without being overbearing and whilst our room was small, it had everything in it and a super view over the canal. The hotel also had a gorgeous garden and was very close to everthing yet extremely peaceful.

This hotel is indeed a little palace. The decor is stunning, classy and full of character. We just arrived today and yet I feel the need to post a review immediately! The staff are unbelieveably friendly and welcoming and are clearly fiercely proud of the historical value of this hotel. We were given a complimentary bottle of prosecco upon arrival. A cosy, homely place witha garden which is beautiful and quiet and tucked away from all the hustle and bustle of the main streets. Very easy to get to. We simply parked our car and got a boat directly. It is only a two minute walk from the pier. Highly recommended!!
