We stayed in a family room, which really was one room that was just barely large enough to fit a king size bed and two small beds on rollers, but not much else. The room was right off of a small canal, which made it very quaint. The entire hotel was very modern and updated, except for the room, which was very Venetian with it's red tapestry walls, which matched the bedspread. The Venetian look is not my style, I love a more modern look, but that's hard to find in Venice. The breakfast was included and was quite decent. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I loved the locations. It was right off of Strada Nova, which is a large pedestrian street. The walk is about 15 minutes from San Marcos square, which is great, because there are way too many people around San Marcos. The only bad thing I have to say is that we were constantly kicked off of our wifi. That was quite annoying, especially when you're trying to do payroll.

I had a hard time finding a hotel in Venice as I had never been. After 3 hours of looking, I chose Ca' Gottardi based on the amazing reviews. It was an amazing choice! My boyfriend and I got lost stepping off the Alilaguna, and I called the hotel concierge who told me amazing directions and stayed on the phone with me until I reached the hotel. Upon getting to the hotel, check in was quick and easy, told us about places to visit and gave us a restaurant recommendation. The staff in absolutely amazing - friendly, helpful. The waiter at the breakfast buffet greeted us with a smile and the Cappucino is one of the best I've ever had! And the breakfast is free!

Our room was at the top of a new building - I guess they had just expanded the hotel. It was clean, and the bathroom looked completely new. We had wanted a room in Venetian style, which we got. No complaints here either!

One last thing - We had lost our luggage for a night. When we came back from exploring the next day, our suitcase had been brought to our room! Excellent service.

Oh! And great location. It's a 20 minute walk from St. Mark's square - I didn't have to take public transportation at ALL during my stay! Will definitely return.

We stayed in this B&B for 3 nights with a family with 2 oldrr children. Staff was very friendly and helpfull, rooms were clean and breakfast was nice. Location is very close to vaporetto. Very nice restaurant just in front of the hotel. Good location not too far from center of Venice.

Fantastic, central location -close to everything, but quieter area and not as crowded and touristy. Gorgeous decor with enormous and numerous Murano chandeliers and wall sconces. Stunning reception and breakfast room. Friendly staff, umbrellas, complimentary waters in room, self-controlled a/c, nice luxury touches. We stayed in superior room 204 directly off breakfast area - soaring ceilings, plenty of room for the 3 of us, 2 windows overlooking canal, LARGE shower, modern bath, quiet with good sound-proof windows. Only occasionally heard overhead floor creaking, but this is a restored 15th c building. Unassuming entrance, so follow good directions staff emails in your confirmation. Staircase to main lobby. Not a problem for us, but FYI. Would stay here again!!!

Just returned from a five day stay. Without doubt what made the stay so enjoyable was the level of service from all members of staff. Nothing was too much trouble, their advice and information was reliable and accurate. It is extremely rare to find such a team of people who pay such attention too detail and carry it out with a smile and pride in what they are doing. Great location, comfy beds, and a wide choice for breakfast. Would highly recommend staying. Thanks guys, you will definitely see us again.

Arrived in Venice feeling very sticky after our bus and boat journey from the airport, staff were very quick in supplying us with cold drinks even though there was a slight queue at the reception. Was able to check in extremely early (11ish) and was upgraded to a beautiful junior suite. The bed and breakfast was perfect as a base location to explore Venice, not many facilities however, but these were not needed as we spent much of the time away from the room. Only fault was that the air con was a bit tricky to use and wasn't as cold as we would of hoped. Breakfast served as a good start to the day with a nice continental spread. Staff were always extremely friendly and recommended lots of restaurants - after being a bit worried of the stories of being ripped of we managed to find some amazing restaurants! Definitely try out La Cantina for Chichettis and wine and Osteria Da Rioba for a nice meal at a reasonable venice price, both located nearby.
