“Close to the Train, But Not Too Close.”
Reviewed 12 August 2014

We wanted to be reasonably close to the train station but away from the busiest parts of town. This hotel was right on the Marcuola vaporetto stop which was really convenient. We bought the multi-day pass and rode the boats all over. There is a reasonably close Billa grocery store which kept our food expenses down. A bottle of cheap wine, some cheese, bread and a seat on the canal side of the Marcuola church and we had affordable dining with a view! The Marcuola vaporetto stop is surprisingly busy into the late evening but we got rid of the outside noise when I finally figured out how to turn on the air conditioner. The breakfast was top-notch and has a wide variety. The desk made a few recommendations for affordable dining away from the crowds. We saw no need to pay extra for the "canal" side.

The decor was old-world but not old fashioned. The painted accents on the walls and furniture were a nice touch. The shower was tiny but usable. We had enough room and comfortable beds. We arrived early in the day and, while our room was not yet ready, they offered us coffee and breakfast. Nice touch.

We stayed for 3 nights at the end of June, 2014. Our room was clean and comfortable. The canal stop is a minute away and the hotel is easy walking distance to sights. It's about a 15 minute walk to the train station too. We booked the hotel based on the reviews and it was pretty much what we expected. The breakfast was nice...plenty to get your day started....fruit, cereal, breads, cheese, meat, yogurt, juice. The staff was friendly and helpful. We would stay again and would recommend to our family and friends.

I decided to pay extra for canal view, thinking it was the GRAND CANAL. Yes how thick of me to think that, venice is full of canals.

Anyway if you going to upgrade take the balcony room as its the best room there.

Very clean place.

Awkward breakfast where they place portion out everything, you can of course ask for more.

Right next to a water bus route that goes all round venice, its one of the busiests but it will get you any where, you can swap to other routes easily too.

Room Tip: If you going to upgrade take the balcony room as its the best view of the canal and the biggest room...

We wanted a reasonably-priced hotel within walking distance of the sights and attractions in Venice. The reviews on Trip Advisor were pretty good so we decided to stay here. Our experience was pretty much in line with the reviews that we read. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, and the hotel was very clean. It was only a ten minute walk from the train station, and there were plenty of restaurants and markets within a 5 minute walk from the hotel. There was also a ferry stop at the end of the street. It was about a 15 minute walk to Ponte Rialto. The decor and furnishings in the hotel were somewhat dated, but everything was in good working order and very clean. I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Some room have a good view of the Grand Canal.

The hotel was suitable for our needs. Everything in Venice is a bit expensive and this place was too. They provided small and somewhat older accommodations. It was a great location, the neighborhood around it was much better than other areas. The staff was very nice and accommodating. They had AC. We would go back, unless we found a better deal for the quality.

We found this hotel suited our needs for a weekend stop in Venice. It was not cheap but no hotel in Venice is going to be cheap so visitors need to be realistic in this respect. Our room and bathroom were both perfectly adequate for our needs as we were intent on spending most of our time out and about in Venice and the surrounding environs. The location was good for us, right next to a Vaparetto and Traghetto stop and roughly midway between Ferrovia and Rialto so both were within easy walking distance. The hotel only does bed and breakfast so its proximity to a number of restaurants was a plus point and in the evenngs we managed to eat at canal side restaurants without any problem. The breakfast was typical continental fare and there was no restriction on the amount eaten, yes, if you pay more I am sure you could get better rooms and a much more sophisticated breakfast elsewhere but there were cereals, breads, meats, fruit, fruit juice, tea and coffee so you didn't need to go hungry. We had no issue with noise from other rooms particularly although some guests were not at all quiet when coming in at night, but this was their fault not the hotels. Overall we were happy with the hotel.
