We stayed here one night following a cruise, before taking the train back to Rome. We decided to check out the location the day prior to disembarkation and good thing we did because we got a little lost but once I got the directions out it was very easy to find. It is also a short walk to the train station. They provide an excellent map when you check-in. Our room was on the same level as reception so we didn't have to climb any stairs other than the ones from ground level up to reception (and there are a lot). It was cool and drizzly in Venice but the hotel was very warm and there was no way we would be able to sleep as the air conditioning had been turned off for the winter. Who knew there were mosquitoes in Venice in October? In the morning there were lots in our room because we had left the window open in the bathroom to cool the room down. There are no screens on the windows. We didn't see one mosquito while we were out walking all day but they sure found our room. I was really looking forward to seeing the front courtyard lit with candles but because it was a bit drizzly they didn't light very many. Maybe next time. Breakfast was lovely. Our room was small but it had a lovely bathroom, and we found a few English stations on the TV.
We would stay here again as we really liked the location.

Not cheap but good value for venice , great service even carries our bags up the stairs of which there were several, excellent breakfast and an ideal location - comfortable walking dist from both station and st marks sq . also some nice inexpensive restaurants locally . good size room and good shower room with nice décor . clean but perhaps a bit more dusting in the bedroom was needed. free wifi with good connection

This hotel is in a great location. Close to the train station, and easy to walk to all the sites. A lovely breakfast with pastries, cheese, yogurt, meats, cereal and fruit was served every morning, and we had great dinners at nearby restaurants. The room we had was spacious for our family of 4. My husband and I had a separate bedroom and bathroom, and the kids each had their own bed and a bathroom for them to share. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. The decor was in staying with the ambience of Venice. The staff was pleasant and helpful. There are a fair number of stairs to get up to the rooms, so people who have difficulty with stairs or large suitcases may find them a challenge. We loved walking home to our hotel in the evenings to find the courtyard lit up with candles. It really was a beautiful way to end our days.

The hotel is beautiful!! The rooms are perfect as well .and the breakfast was just amazing....the negative points are 1)the stairs to the hotel rooms. that took us by surprise we had to carry our bags up the stairs. 2) the hotel was itself difficult to find. but overall it was a good experience once the place was found and bags carried up to the room;) the hotel is well managed

Venice was our last stop and what a special surprise to find that we had an apartment booked for our stay. The owner is very friendly and greeted us at the front entrance. We had trouble finding the hotel as our travel agent provided the wrong address and there isn't a large sign on the door. Once we found it we had a wonderful time. It is on a beautiful side street that was close to some of the best little bakeries. The only problem we had was that the wifi didn't work for one of the 2 nights. We were unable to get a signal to call home to our kids so my Husband had to walk around town at 11pm to find free wifi to email our sitter. We had breakfast supplied next door at The Ribot, but they barely offered any food. We only went once and then went out on our own for the second morning.

We had a wonderful time at this hotel and were lucky enough to have a large room on the ground floor - avoiding the main pitfall of this hotel mentioned by other reviewers...the stairs! Granted we had to climb up a a few flights to get breakfast but that made us feel all the more justified in eating the most amazing croissants and other treats served in the mornings.
Our room was actually two rooms and a separate toilet/shower. The layout was a bit odd and may not suit all families but we loved it. In the master bedroom, there is a large bed and behind the bed is jacuzzi bath which the kids and I loved. It is separated from the bedroom by a half wall made of glass so if you are a very private person you may not like this, but we just spent time in the other room when someone was in the bath. The other bedroom had two single beds for the kids, a TV and a bathroom with walkin shower. Everyone was nicely decorated and comfortable. The air conditioning worked a great but being on the ground floor, the room was always cool when we came back from wandering around Venice.
The entrance to the hotel is ver charming - large innocuous wooden doors leading to a courtyard and made us feel a bit like locals.
Overall, we really enjoyed our time at Palazzo Odoni and would definitely stay here again when in venice, esp if we could eat the same room.

My husband and I visited Venice last week. This Hotel is situated within a 5 minute walk from the main train terminal & bus terminal so it was great to get off the train, walk to the hotel and drop our bags. On arrival The Manager greeted us and carried our bags to the room - our room was beautiful, traditional Italian, spacious, clean and well decorated. Breakfast was outstanding and the lady there was wonderful, very attentive and friendly. Everything was very reachable from this hotel and there was a fantastic restaurant a few doors up called Ribot - a little pricey but real traditional Italian food and a very warm welcome. No tourist pretend Italian food.
When eating out avoid at all cost the restaurants that have a menu with pictures on, they usually supply frozen food, not the real stuff. Avoid eating near the key tourist points, we found the food near the hotel was very reasonable and traditional. On departure we checked out and left our bags at he hotel for the day and picked them up on our way to the bus terminal. Highly recommend this hotel & it's location.
