After two stays, Foscari has become our default choice in Venice. The Deluxe Canal View rooms are probably the best value for money on the Grand Canal, they open right onto the canal with a small french balcony. We like to wake up in the morning, open the window and observe the hustle and bustle on the canal. The grand hotels like Gritti Palace and Danieli charge an arm and a leg for the privilege. At Foscari, you can have it for just a few hundred euro per night. There is a very nice rooftop terrace as well with a glorious view over the rooftops of Venice where you can take a bottle of prosecco and watch life go by. The staff at Foscari is very pleasant. There is breakfast included in the price, decent but served indoors so we never really used it, we like to be out and about on the streets of this beautiful city. Location is very central, right off Strada Nuova which is the main pedestrian drag. There is a traghetto stop right in front of the hotel which takes you to the Rialto fish market. Take it, then make a quick left and you will find yourself on a small square right on the canal with excellent restaurants, we liked Bancogiro a lot. Foscari has its own dock which makes for a spectacular arrival - if you take a water taxi from the airport (pricey at 90-100 euro) you can ride straight to the hotel, fabulous way to start a vacation.

hotels in venice are costly but that does not necessarily mean a good hotel ! there were other 2-3 star hotels charging 150euros + !! i booked foscari online and paid 140 Euros for one night and it was definitely worth it!
breakfast was included which was very good
i didnt catch the guys name who checked us in the eve.. but he was really helpful - i needed my ipod to be charged and he rummaged around his desk and found a usb wire for me and even a plug in.
i had a really poor view from the room but it was okay since i was only there for a night...
the room overall was well done and charming.. the bathroom was nice and had all the modern amenities. there was a safe and a flat screen tv with only cnn and bbc being the english channels.
we enjoyed having their amazing coffee on the hotels porch by the canal.

the location was good.. i found CANNAREGIO is the perfect place to stay in venice...easy to reach from the bus stop...
the vaporetto stops 2 mins from the hotel making it very convenient to reach

highly recommend this hotel !

The Foscari Palace was a great hotel. We arrived at the hotel's private dock in our water taxi, were helped into the lobbe and brought immediately to our room. The hotel is light and airy with large well appointed rooms. Loved Venice and the hotel. Can't wait to go back.

Took the vaporetto from the Main stop near the train station. It stops at the Ca d'oro stop which is only 2 minuits to the hotel. Great location in the center of Venice. Very nice room. No view, but hey we weren't in the room too much anyway. They had a very nice roof top deck overlooking the Grand Canal which we went to every day after exploring Venice. Not many people knew about it as we were the only ones up there. Good breakfast selection. Would stay here again.

Location is great. Right on Grand Canal; gondola crossing to Rialto market right there. Vaporetto Ca d'Or is only one building away. Easy walk or quick vaporetto ride from train station. Small deck, one table, on waterfront for cappucino or cocktail. Lobby was quite comfortable and nicely decorated. So was small bar, although no one ever there (no patrons, no bartender).

Bathroom fancy marble, but dated. Useless super-shower: multi-jets sprayed all over. Stayed in Superior Room with window/view onto Piazza S. Sofia; could see canal if you stuck your head out. Beds and pillows provided basic comfort; you can sleep because you're tired. Pretty quiet location for Venice. Room decor was basically okay but dated. Room safe and stocked mini fridge provided.

Could not get a decent Wi-Fi signal anywhere, including lobby. During the two days, got a snippet of a connection for two minutes once, while in lobby, then it dropped again.

Front desk was helpful and efficient when asked for assistance with reservations, but was not overtly warm or welcoming.

Were I to do it again, would pay the extra bucks for the canal-view room. Actually, were I to do it again, would probably stay somewhere else. Maybe Palazzo Stern Hotel or Hotel Bauer. Both looked lovely.

Room Tip: Spend the extra bucks and get one of the canal view rooms.

My wife and I stayed in this hotel from 9th to 13th March 2012 and loved it from start to finish. As in a previous review, we also had room 306 and it was great. Only small problem was that the mechanism for the sink plug was not working so it had to be moved manually. Had a small issue with a temporary lack of wifi connection but this was fixed more or less immediately on query. The location of this hotel, by a Gondola station on the Grand Canal, just along from the Rialto bridge was amazing and couldnt be faulted. The breakfast was varied with cereals, fresh fruit and fruit salad, yoghurt, cheeses, meats, cakes, rolls and croissants, hot food (sausages, bacon and scrambled eggs) coffee and various teas, and juice.
Venice itself could not have been better at 18 degrees C throughout our stay, and returning home to Scotland with an unexpected sunburn! Walking distance to all the main sights such as San Marco, Rialto, and lagoon trips to the outer islands such as Burano (gorgeous island) and Murano.
This hotel is ideal for a city break and again, the deal offered through Venere.com was exceptional.

I stayed at the Foscari Palace early February, pre-carnival time. The hotel is beautiful and could not be faulted, everything was perfect and so warm !.

My room 306 was a classic double, very spacious and quiet and overlooked Campo Santa Sofia, with a side view of the Grand Canal. The room was lovely and warm considering the -6 degree weather outside. All ammenities available, bathroom was very luxurious with plenty of toiletries, the shower was perfect, though I did not use the spa bath.

Breakfast was lovely too, could not fault it plenty of selection, though i did not try the hot food, one tip ask the waitress for a fresh coffee, the machine stuff was dreadful.

All staff very polite and helpful, the hotel could not be faulted and I got a great deal of 70 euro per night from venere.com when the hotel direct stated 100 euro.

Would highly recommend a stay here, perfect location, walk to the Rialto in 10 min, San Marco 20 min.

Really hope to stay here again

Room Tip: Side view of canal is ok and quiet
