Made original booking via internet booking site but extended our stay by contacting the hotel direct and got even better deal.
You need to be aware that you can only get to it by boat, a short trip from the station and the square where Ryan Air's bus drops you off. The water bus stop is moments away from this hotel.

Our water taxi literaly dropped us off at the front door. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. She sorted out our homeward bound transfer which had been reserved as a car transfer.
The bathroom was a little tired. The whirlpool bath did not work but we had not paid for it so no problem. The breakfast in the breakfast room was hot continental and perfectly okay.
On our last morning Venice flooded. No problem. The lifts did not work but breakfast was served as normal although boards had been put down for you to walk on!
We would stay here again. Its position is excellant. Next time we would not bother with booking taxi transfers, but use the water buses and coach transfer to airport. Cheaper and easier if you travel light. Having read adverse reviews, this was not our experience after 10 days on a 5* Princess Cruise.

Nothing good To say. We were totally fooled by the reviews. Upon arrival we get there by private water taxi. They watch my husband and I as we lug the luggage in from a distance. While checking in they weren't one bit friendly. Just gave us a form to sign and said room 103. The bellman put our luggage in the lift and we walked up. We gave him 5 euros hoping he would give us insight to thank him for helping with luggage. As I'm about to hop in shower he barges in mumbles something and leaves. English is not well spoken at this hotel.

Room was very old. Mosquitoes flying everywhere. Bathroom had no toiletries. Bathtub was tiny to shower in. Toilet was dirty and had stains.

Next morning we decided we didn't need room cleaned as we were only staying 2 nights and didn't unpack too much. We left the DND sign on doorknob. Housekeeping came in anyways and all out valuables were out. Ugh not okay.

We would say good morning or good night coming in n out of hotel but no response back. Learn the basics of English people! You work at a hotel with tons of people from North America! Breakfast made me sick. I threw up after having a bite of wet soggy eggs.

Worse hotel experience I have had in Europe to date.

We returned for our 3rd visit to this hotel in 8 years. Still a beautiful small, calm hotel with canal front rooms at a reasonable price for venice. Included breakfast and nice people. Beautiful rooms with marble baths.

Room Tip: get a suite

We booked Foscari Palace and fully paid for it €300 per night around a week before visiting Venice. €300 is a bit higher than average price of hotels in Venice, but because of some good reviews we've came across, we decided to pay more, but enjoy our trip to the full and stay at proper place (we were staying one night only).

Once we landed to Venice (it was around 7-8 pm) we received call from the hotel saying that something is wrong with toilet in the room we were supposed to occupy and they couldn't make us stay there, but they found another hotel for us of the "same class" and price. Since it was late and we really didn't have alternative we decided to accept their offer. We reached Foscari Palace around 9pm and they took us to the new hotel by water taxi.
Hotel was just ok, but I can't explain how bad the room was compared to what we booked initially. It was feet or so around the bed. Window was closed by couple of curtains and jalousie and when I opened it, it was just wall in less than 1 meter from the window (see photo).
We were so exhausted after overnight flight that really couldn't go back and complain about it.
Next day I checked prices as well and on top of all these issues there was €50 price difference between what we booked and what they offered (which no one even bothered to offer us refund)

Maybe Foscari Palace itself is good, but this was terrible experience for us. Don't really know what happened with the toilet??!! Quite doubtful, but it might happen!!! Anyway, if even so, they should have at least checked room they offered before-ahead and either offer better room or let us know and pay price difference back!!!

Everyone warned us on how overpriced Venice is, but this hotel was affordable, central and it really delivered what they advertised. The room was clean, airy and light with a wide screen TV, a minibar plenty of storage room and even a large sofa, perfect for relaxing after having explored Venice all day long. Right on the Canal Grande, which one can see from the roof top terrace, with easy access by vaporetto (Ca` D'Oro stop, 10 minutes from the station and Piazzale Roma where we left the car).
Reception staff very pleasant and helpful at all times. Breakfast second to none, with a selection of croissants, cakes, biscotti, fresh fruit, melon and ham, cheeses etc. etc.
I stayed with my husband for 3 nights and would definitely go back there!
I have never been happier with an online booking!!!!

Nice room on top floor with balcony overlooking plaza and canal and market. Great breakfast representing many countries first choices with helpful attendant. We don't ask for much, but always check for dining recommendations. The ladies at the front desk were great and provided exceptional choices, marking locations on maps, even calling for reservations where needed. By the end of our 5 day stay we felt like family. Don't miss the roof top deck with an amazing view.

My family and I had stayed at this hotel the last time we were in Venice and love love loved it so much we absolutely had to stay here again. We even asked for and got the same room we stayed at initially – overlooking the Grand Canal and Rialto Market. The room, the staff, the ambience, the breakfast were all even better then we remembered.

There is a vaporetta right next to the hotel that takes you across the canal for just 2 euros. There is also a gondola station there for those wonderful romantic leisurely Venice moments.

The breakfast was great and includes hot dishes, cold cuts, fruit bowl, pastries and croissants, fresh cheeses, hot teas, etc. It is sometimes quite crowded in here at breakfast but the staff was so helpful they set us up on the dock when our wait had exceeded just 5 minutes. We just cannot say enough good things about this hotel and its amazing staff.

I am already trying to plan another trip back to Venice and this charming hotel in the perfect location!
