Description: Al Squero is the only Osteria in Venice exactly in front of the Ancient Squero of San Trovaso. There is no other place where appreciating from its window the construction or restoration of original Venetian gondolas. It is a cozy and comfortable place where you can share with friends a glass of Italian wine and taste an appetizing “cicchetto” at a small price. The selection of wines you can taste or buy at Al Squero comes from small regional wine firms of Friuli, Trentino-Alto Adige and Veneto, so that it is guaranteed unique care at the quality and distinctiveness of their products.

“Truth is its ok”

Nice for small bites and a spritz or a glass of wine..very small. No where to sit..sometimes smells like the varnish from the boat yard across the canal..good little sandwiches not worth the walk from main areas.

“Great for snacks and wines”
Reviewed 15 June 2014 via mobile

Very delicious and inexpensive (from €1 apiece) local cichetti and wines. The owners were nice and spoke enough English to explain dishes to me. The place is tiny, but you can take your drink outside and sit along the canal. I'd definitely go back!

“Perfect for pre-dinner drinks and snacks”
Reviewed 12 June 2014

Great find for pre-dinner apertifs and bites. We bought a bottle of prosecco and loaded up a few plates of chichetti and sat out on the canal with dozens of others, drinking, eating, smoking and enjoying a proper sunset. We may have been the only non-locals there. It's an easy stroll down to Fondamente Zattere Ai Gesuati from there. Note that if you're going around pre-dinner time (say 6-8pm), be ready to crowd around the counter and rub shoulders with strangers to call out your order...it was a little nuts in there. Overall, great spot and would definitely recommend. Wines, beers and liquors seemed reasonably priced.

“Holds it's own”
Reviewed 4 June 2014

A great little find across the canal from the gondola boat-yard. Very reasonably priced spritz and chichetti can be enjoyed perched on the wall outside if it's sunny, or at one of the two little tables inside. It's almost next door to the more famous "Gia Schiavi" cantione, but it more than holds it's own against it's more illustrious neighbour.
