Description: Al Squero is the only Osteria in Venice exactly in front of the Ancient Squero of San Trovaso. There is no other place where appreciating from its window the construction or restoration of original Venetian gondolas. It is a cozy and comfortable place where you can share with friends a glass of Italian wine and taste an appetizing “cicchetto” at a small price. The selection of wines you can taste or buy at Al Squero comes from small regional wine firms of Friuli, Trentino-Alto Adige and Veneto, so that it is guaranteed unique care at the quality and distinctiveness of their products.

“Hidden gem!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 August 2014 via mobile

We stumbled across this fab bar after taking a wrong turn on our journey back to the hotel!
Its a beautiful spot with delicious wines and lovely chiccheti (at only €1 each). Although its very small, you can bring your drinks out and sit on the wall by the canal which adds to the overall Italian experience!
Staff are very friendly and we will definitely return!

“Just what we were looking for”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 August 2014

Before travelling to Venice we'd read enough reviews/articles online to prepare us for the tourist traps, aka most restaurants on San Marco. We walked to Dorsoduro to escape the madness and find a smaller, more local place to get some food, and stumbled upon exactly what we were looking for.The staff were friendly and happy to explain about pricing, flavours and ingredients and we were thrilled to find that wine is available from 1,20 Euro per glass and cicchetti starts from 1 Euro per piece! We snacked on anchovies, salami, soft cheese, broccoli, crusty bread and sipped wine whilst we sat on the wall outside the Osteria, gazing at the sunset over the Grand Canal at the end of the street. The food was fantastic, we really couldn't fault anything we tried. It was great to find a smaller, more genuine Venetian gem and experience something truly authentic.

“Relax in Venice”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 August 2014 via mobile

We stumbled across this delightful bar in the Dorsoduro district of Venice, quite near to the Zattere water bus stop. It has a very relaxed atmosphere and you can drink and eat outside overlooking a canal if there isn't room inside. The food and drinks are reasonably priced and of a very good standard with the staff are very friendly and helpful. Overall a real must if you are visiting the area.

“Best bites and atmosphere on the canals”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 July 2014 via mobile

We just ate at Osteria Al Squero and were so blown away by the little breads with toppings, fantastic biscuits, topped off with a welcoming and friendly service, warm atmosphere, and beautiful outlook. The bar staff were genuine and had a relaxed manner. We would recommend it for a before- or after-dinner bite and drinks.
