Having come from Hotel David in Florence, which was charming in a B&B type way, Hotel Moresco was more formal than we were expecting. It is a beautiful hotel but has an uptight feel to it (loftiness). We struggled to get a confortable air temperature in the room and never quite acclimated. The breakfast was ok but again felt a bit hassled. We're in our late 40's and perhaps this hotel is better suited for a more senior client. Venice, however, was fantastic!!

Venice. I was prepared to fall in love with this city: its bridges, architectures and canals. I was also prepared for the tourist traps, overpriced restaurants and small hotel rooms with dismal service.
How wrong I was about the hotel! And how glad I was for being wrong.

Hotel Moresco was such a pleasant surprise: accommodating staff, attention to details and large bedrooms with modern bathroom. Our bathroom had Botero prints on the wall, and I have to say that I am a Botero fan so that was a good indication!

We arrived at the hotel earlier than the check-in time. The receptionist said that "Your room is being prepared for you at the moment", which I thought was much more professional than to say "Your room is not yet ready". She then offered for us to have a seat and relax in the libary and asked us if we wanted something to drink. We asked for Proseco (we're in Italy right?) and the barman (who was very nice) promptly served us a glass each along with some crisps. While we were waiting one of the staff came up to my husband and gave him some money (and no, it wasn't a payment for this review!)

When my husband booked the hotel a couple of months earlier they had promo that if you LIKE their FB page, you will get a small discount.

My husband LIKEd their page but was charged the full amount upon booking. We were told that it was an oversight but were promised that we will get the discount upon check-in.
We didn't think much of it and honestly thought, that it would be forgotten. So again, we were pleasantly surprised when we got some of money back and most importantly, they did just as they promised.

The room we had was very spacious ( not just by European standard) new and well furnished . The bathroom is very modern with mosaic tiles and a deep-sunken bath. A nice suprise is we had the room with a balcony. Although, the balcony doesn't overlook a canal, it is very big and pefect for aperitivo. Breakfast was included and very substantial. Eggs cooked to your liking is usually a good sign than hotels that serve them pre-cooked!

Now if you'd like to be in the centre of the hussle and bussle of Venice where you can see the gondolas from your window, then this hotel is pnot it. Hotel Moresco is located in the quiter side of Venice. But for those who have been to Venice, you'd know that you won't be doing much than walk your way through its many winding streets, so it's very nice to come back to this hotel at night or in the afternoon for a siesta. Being away from the hussle and bussle doesn't mean that it's far from everything. You will find heaps of restaurants, point of interests, bars anywhere in Venice, so its location is very ideal.

Booking via hotel website.

Checkin: Friendly, but want to keep the passport to make a copy
Checkout: Quick, all fine

Location: Close to Piazzale Roma, 5 mins to walk. Perfect.

Rooms: Enough space, clean, new furniture, very good beds. Quiet.

Overall: One of the best hotels I stayed in Venice. Very good breakfast, nice bar in the evening with very reasonable prices for wine. Very good value for your money.

My husband and I stayed at this wonderful boutique hotel in November for 3 days before departing back to the States. We had just disembarked from the Princess Ruby after enjoying a 10 day cruise through the Mediterranean.

After reading Trip Advisor reviews we thought this hotel would be perfect...and it WAS!!! Wonderful venetian charm, the outside entry smells great, our room had a cozy outside balcony and bathroom was large and spacious...and I loved the Rubenism people artwork. In the mornings there was a charming buffet breakfast with fresh juices, pastries, cold meats and eggs made to order. In the evenings, you could pop in and have appetizers and drinks before heading out again to explore one of the many fabulous restaurants in Venice and walk the canals.

With all of that said, the staff at the Hotel Moresco are amazing, accommodating, and friendly. They were always ready to help even going on line with me to book train tickets so my husband and I could go to Florence and see the marble statue of David. The morning we were to catch the train to Florence it was pouring down, the staff provided us with large umbrellas and we were on our way. By the way, the train station is just around the corner from the hotel...couldn't have been any easier.

You'll have a wonderful time staying at this hotel and you'll have one less thing to stress out about. We'll definitely be going back!!!!

After arriving soaking wet straight off the bus from Piazza Roma, the staff were cheery and very welcoming. We were settled into the lounge with a complimentary glass of prosecco and snacks whilst our cases were taken to our room.

Our room was much more spacious than we anticipated. (Note to readers: the last time we stayed in Venice we chose the Hotel Ca' Pisani. The room was small and bijoux to say the least. But it was close to the Accademia bridge). Complimentary bottled water and coffee via the Nespresso machine was a nice touch. There was a well stocked mini bar, but we steered clear of that.

At 630pm every night snacks are laid on in the bar. A perfect opportunity to plot up a restaurant for dinner and of course have another glass of prosecco. Just be careful not to eat too much if you intend going out for a 3 course dinner. You'll never manage it all.

The buffet breakfast was charming and there was plenty to satisfy all appetites. You can order eggs cooked to the way you like them. I did not spot any other hot food on offer.

During our stay, the concierge and receptionist ordered a free water taxi for us to go to Murano, booked restaurants and looked after our suitcases on the day we were leaving.

I cannot score this hotel high enough for the service, atmos and general fabulousness. Yes, it may be a 30 mins from St Mark's Square, but who really wants to stay in the tourist-centric hub of it all. Not me for sure. So impressed were we, we are already planning our return in 2014. Caio; for now!

Me and my girlfriend have just returned from a 3 day trip to Venice, staying in this Hotel. We are not extensive travellers, and this was more upmarket than we generally stay in. But I have to say it was absolutely marvellous, from the moment we walked through the entrance and were met immediately, then being ushered into the bar for a complimentary Bellini whilst our cases were taken to our room. The quality of the room, and the general decor is outstanding. It is located in an ideal place to get around Venice, and the breakfast was marvellous.

This is a quality hotel.
