Booked this for a special birthday surprise for my partner based on theTripAdvisor reviews. We were not disappointed! We stayed from 24th-27th January and had a wonderful relaxing time here. They gave us complimentary prosecco when we arrived (in addition to the bottle I had ordered for the room) while they completed the paperwork and we were so relaxed in the lovely sitting room that we didn't realise our room was ready! The room was very clean and modern - but in a traditional Venetian style. Not at all OTT like some of the hotes in Venice (as judged by the photos on TripAdvisor). The Nespresso machine was brilliant! Breakfast was very comprehensive and even had prosecco available alongside the juices, coffee etc. There is a theme to this review you may have noticed... We also had extra coffees one morning and were always offered eggs and bacon in addition to the pastries, cheese, meat, bread, cereal, fruit etc on offer. In fact we only needed a slice of pizza from Antica Forno (a great find...) for lunch followed by a half glass of prosecco and a cicchetti (large prawn with strawberry...delicious) at Bar Ancora standing in the suntrap near the Rialto market. Perfect! They will book the water taxi for you and this is a great way to arrive at the hotel. Although be aware that you need to pay the driver when you arrive - it isn't included in the hotel bill. Make sure you visit the Scuola di San Rocco which is nearby and also hop over the canal to the Dorsudoro to Campo Santa Margherita for drinks. Check out Cafe Noir just round the corner as well - great Bellini!

We chose the Hotel Moresco for its proximity to the airport bus drop off point before looking at the Trip Advisor reviews. The reviews confirmed we had made a good choice and we were not disappointed. The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful, the restaurants they recommended we excellent. The room was perfect with a good view overlooking the canal. Although it rained for just about all of our stay, you cannot blame the hotel for that but they did provide umbrellas, we had a wonderful short break and are already planning to return later in the year.

We stayed at Hotel Moresco on 27th January - 29th January for my wife's birthday. I emailed the hotel prior to arriving and they arranged for a cake to be delivered to the room when we checked in!
The room was faultless. We stayed in room 303 which overlooked the canal. The view was excellent and recommended. The rooms were cleaned every morning to an amazing standard and the staff were always checking to see if we were happy with how things were.
The bar was really well decorated and a good place to have a quiet drink or some snacks before you go out. The barman/waiter was excellent and made sure that we always had a pastry or drink.
The hotel is in a really good location. Its about a 2 minute walk from the bus station and a 20 minute walk to St Marks Square. I recommend walking because you get to walk along the canal and see all the sights of Venice.
I also recommend getting the car the hotel offer to pick you up from the airport. Its a half hour drive to the hotel and the driver will carry your bag all the way to reception.
Overall, I cannot really fault this hotel. We are already planning to return in July and cannot wait.

Room Tip: Ask for room 303 if it is available. Good canal view, hardly any noise at night and is on the top fl...

We made our booking based on the reviews of other tripadvisors and were certainly not disappointed! The hotel is beautifully furnished and decorated to a high standard in a modern Venetian style. Our room was exceptionally clean, comfortable and well equipped. Downstairs was a cosy library where we frequently enjoyed a glass of prosecco and a local beer after a day of walking and touring in the city. As commented by others, drink prices are very reasonable and there is a complementary nibble buffet from around 18:30.
Above all, the staff in the hotel are particularly friendly and helpful - advising on our plans, offering help and genuinely interested in our day's exploits (on our return)

Having never been to Venice before we were unsure in which district we should stay; however we knew we didn't want to stay in one of the busy areas around St. Mark's Square or the Rialto Bridge. The hotel is in the Santa Croce district with many good restaurants and traditional shops nearby. The railway station and mainline vaporetto stops can be reached in 5-10 minutes, while St. Mark's square can be reached in 25 minutes by following the sign-posted yellow route (longer if you stop at one of the many cafés or bars to soak up the Venetian atmosphere; or pause for a photo opportunity)

Room Tip: All rooms have a unique charm (see hotel web site). We stayed in Room 108 which overlooks a quiet, w...

The rest if the reviews on here say it all, this hotel is simply superb & cannot be faulted in any way. From the second you arrive to check in it is an absolute pleasure to stay here. The staff are all extremely friendly & helpful & cannot do enough to ensure your stay is as enjoyable & comfortable as possible. The welcome drink while you check in is very much appreciated! The breakfasts are a real treat, a great selection of things to choose from & the ham & cheese omelette cooked fresh is highly recommended! The evening buffet selection is a lovely way to start the evening and even treating yourself to a few drinks at the same time is great value at 3 euros per glass of wine, Spritz, proscecco or beer, far cheaper than you will find anywhere near San Marco!! The hotel location is perfect for arriving at the bus station, less than 5mins walk & impossible not to find if you have a quick check of the map beforehand. The walk back up to the nearest water bus stop at Piazzale Roma is not much more than 5mins either & there are a couple more stops in less than 10mins walk if you want to vary where you get on & off. It's about a 30 min stroll to San Marco & you can easily follow the various signs and vary your route each time. We stayed in room 2 on the ground floor and it was perfect, clean, lovely decor & a nice spacious shower. Nespresso coffees are appreciated in the room also! If you want a great place to stay in Venice that cannot do enough to look after you, is easy to find & close to transport links don't waste your time looking around just book straight into the Moresco, I can guarantee you'll be 100% happy that you booked here. This hotel is a real credit to all the people that work here.

I’ll start with the problems. The shower-surround leaked water onto the bathroom floor, but the hotel soon moved us next door. We could not master the satellite TV in either room but I’m sure that would have been fixed if we had cared enough. Otherwise it was first class. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Fabio who picked out and booked several restaurants for us. The breakfast buffet was massive with eggs and bacon also on offer. Late evenings we relaxed in the well-stocked and quiet bar. Whenever we stay at a hotel in Venice Moresco will be top of our list.
