Experiencing an incredibly unique and historical city doesn't also have to accompany its sadly declining and ignored state of upkeep. Contrasted is this exquisitely executed hotel from every detail of service to comfort. Such attention doesn't come inexpensively - especially in Venice - but the value is reinforced with each interaction. For example, front desk attendant, Mirco Ardizzon repeatedly exemplified this care.
Our reservation required a minimum three-night stay (even in early January). After regretfully taking the advice of water-taxi attendant to walk with roller bags - in the rain - the proposed 10 minute walk (if you knew exactly where you were on the map), we were greeted warmly at the hotel. A glass of Primotivo in hand and sagging into an enfolding cushy chair offered a delightful rescue before a brief, but thoughtful check-in.
In meantime, our bags were quietly whisked upstairs to greet us as a staff member later personally introduced our junior suite, The Weaver. Again, not a detail of comfort seemingly missing. Immaculately clean. Large comfy bed (bit on firmer side), high quality linen, large two sink bathroom, wonderfully large walk-in shower, three different sitting areas, separate dressing/closet area, small refrigerator, and (to our wishes) nice bottle of Italian wine.
Breakfast was from 7A to 11A and representing largely traditional Italian morning fare. Exceptions were again another delightful and included surprise: specially offered scrambled eggs; and a bottomless cappuccino.
Couple things they might consider. Our preference is always for fresh air and the Weaver room comes with three windows to let in the outdoors, but two were absent screens. However, in Venice so come mosquitoes - even in January.
The other is beware their restaurant recommendations. For an establishment with such high regards and attention to quality service, it was baffling to be sent to two restaurants (Osteria Ae Cravate ranked #293 in TripAdvisor - and Ristorante Ribot ranked #81) that lacked both.
