“Deluxe Venetian Comfort”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 February 2014

Experiencing an incredibly unique and historical city doesn't also have to accompany its sadly declining and ignored state of upkeep. Contrasted is this exquisitely executed hotel from every detail of service to comfort. Such attention doesn't come inexpensively - especially in Venice - but the value is reinforced with each interaction. For example, front desk attendant, Mirco Ardizzon repeatedly exemplified this care.

Our reservation required a minimum three-night stay (even in early January). After regretfully taking the advice of water-taxi attendant to walk with roller bags - in the rain - the proposed 10 minute walk (if you knew exactly where you were on the map), we were greeted warmly at the hotel. A glass of Primotivo in hand and sagging into an enfolding cushy chair offered a delightful rescue before a brief, but thoughtful check-in.

In meantime, our bags were quietly whisked upstairs to greet us as a staff member later personally introduced our junior suite, The Weaver. Again, not a detail of comfort seemingly missing. Immaculately clean. Large comfy bed (bit on firmer side), high quality linen, large two sink bathroom, wonderfully large walk-in shower, three different sitting areas, separate dressing/closet area, small refrigerator, and (to our wishes) nice bottle of Italian wine.

Breakfast was from 7A to 11A and representing largely traditional Italian morning fare. Exceptions were again another delightful and included surprise: specially offered scrambled eggs; and a bottomless cappuccino.

Couple things they might consider. Our preference is always for fresh air and the Weaver room comes with three windows to let in the outdoors, but two were absent screens. However, in Venice so come mosquitoes - even in January.

The other is beware their restaurant recommendations. For an establishment with such high regards and attention to quality service, it was baffling to be sent to two restaurants (Osteria Ae Cravate ranked #293 in TripAdvisor - and Ristorante Ribot ranked #81) that lacked both. Suggest doing your own research...

The reviews say it all. If you would like a beautifully appointed small hotel with caring, professional staff then the Moresco is for you. We arranged a private car transfer from the airport via the hotel and were greeted in the depature lounge by a extremely smart gentleman who helped us with our cases to an awaiting Mercedes Viano people carrier (blacked out windows and leather seats) and transported us in 30 minutes to Piazza Roma. He then helped us with our cases on the 3 minute walk to the Moresco. The lobby has scented oils burning so you are greeted with a beautiful scent before entering a small, but fantastic moorish reception area with small lounge / bar to left and dining are to the right. We stayed in 207 with a canal view (it was my wife's birthday) for 4 nights. Breakfasts were leisurely and everything you could want. At 6pm a small complimentary buffet is served in the extremely reasonably priced bar area (3 euro's for a large glass of prosecco!) and there are plenty of guides and books to plan your days. Our thanks to Lorenzo, Fabio, Mirco (Danke mein freund), Dario, Barbara and all the other staff who made out stay so memorable and welcoming. Andy & Jill

Room Tip: 207 has a lovely canal view. No Swimming pool or Fitness centre (don't worry you'll walk fo...

Hotel Moresco is an elegant and welcoming small hotel if you want a quiet location that is convenient and friendly. Step inside and you will feel awed at the sheer elegance of the furnishings and floors. The public areas are both beautiful and comfortable. It did quite a bit of raining (okay, a LOT of raining) and there is nothing cozier than snuggling into a comfortable chair in the Hotel Moresco library and doing a little reading while the fire warms the room. Bliss!

I love the way the 23 rooms each have their own names like The Traveller's Room, The Poet's Room, The Florist's Room, The Town Crier's Room, The Musician's Room, The Gondolier's Room, The Scribe's Room, The Glass Worker's Room, and The Umbrella Maker's Room among others. Each room fits into a specific category such as Classic, Classic with A View, Superior, Superior with A view and Junior Suite.

No matter which room you choose, you can't go wrong because they are all equally beautiful and comfortable. There are oak parquet and Venetian terrazzo flooring, elegant furnishing, silky soft bedspreads, comfy beds, and lovely draperies. Some rooms have terraces or sitting rooms. The bathrooms have American style glass showers with rainfall showerheads as well as tubs which I appreciate because I prefer showers. Slippers and plush terry robes are included and the towel racks are heated (put your robe on there to heat it too). Toiletries are included as is a Nepresso coffee maker.

I love it that this place is air conditioned which is sometimes hard to find in Europe. It is very convenient for using water taxis and the railway station. You will enjoy the quiet as the rooms are soundproofed and you will not be disturbed by other guests or outside noise.

The focus here is on service. There is concierge service but really any of the staff is ready and happy to answer questions or make suggestions. You can make special food requests if you must follow a special diet and they will give you hypoallergenic pillows. They have a drycleaning/laundry/ironing/seamstress service available. A secluded garden inside old walls is a nice place to relax and read the newspaper or eat while the concierge makes arrangements for your excursions, tours, or reservations to events or when you just want to get away from it all. You will feel pampered here.

Speaking of eating, the breakfast and the snacks here are highly recommended. Everything is delicious and nicely filling. Try the pastries- they are divine!

All in all, this is a wonderful place to stay in Venice.

Room Tip: All rooms are elegantly appointed, comfortable, and quiet (soundproofed).

Stayed a couple of nights beginning of Feb - just got back today - got to say Moresco is a beautiful hotel with friendly helpful staff - can't fault any aspect of our stay. Lovely room, nice breakfast, little touches everywhere that make a difference
The hotel is conveniently located near the Piazale Roma from where you can explore the entire city through the water buses or even on foot.

Aside from the constant rain, the trip was great.

Really friendly small hotel in a good location with easy access on foot, or by water bus to all major attractions. Everybody in the hotel was really helpful and gave good recommendations all round. Lovely lounge area, good breakfasts (including prosecco on the house) and well sized very clean and comfortable rooms. You might think it a little far from St.Mark's Square but it is a lovely walk and gives you the opportunity to see more of the city. Watch out in winter times for high tides however!!

Room Tip: Only some rooms have clear and direct views over the canal

I booked this Hotel for our anniversary trip based on the good reviews on Trip Advisor and had a fantastic stay there. The hotel staff were genuine, friendly and warm. The hotel was beautifully styled, comfortable and spotless. From Lorenzo's delicious morning omelettes served with a glass of Prosecco to Fabio and Wladamir's warm hospitality and generous servings of fine chocolate, pastries and drinks in the evenings, every staff member encountered went beyond the call of duty to make us feel welcome.

It rained the entire time we were in Venice but the Hotel provided excellent big umbrellas and prepared a roaring fire to return to.

Initially I worried that the Moresco may be too far from the centre of Venice but this was unfounded. The hotel is situated within a short and comfortable 10 main walk from the main bus station, in a pretty and quiet side street next to a canal. This means no struggling down narrow alleys or up and down many bridge steps with luggage like those in the centre of Venice. The walk from the hotel to the Rialto bridge took only 15 mins with the vaporetto stop only 5mins away if you didn't feel like walking.

The Moresco was not only a fantastic hotel, it is also in an ideal location.

If I had to be really picky I would say the rooms could do with a coat hook to avoid having to hang wet coats on the chairs or in the bathroom and there is little clothes storage space. However the decor throughout is sumptuous and comfortable and the staff are truly wonderful. The bed was unbelievable comfortable and the black out curtains and blinds meant having a lie in was easy. This was complimented by breakfast being served until 11am.

Drinks in the hotel were surprisingly cheap and complimentary buffet snacks were served during the evening.

I would recommend the Moresco Hotel to anyone and we will most definitely be back ... Hopefully without the rain! What a gem of a place.

Wow just got back from a brilliant stay here although the rain did not let up this did not ruin our getaway. Firstly the hotel is a 2 minute walk from piazzale Roma bus stop (€11 each return from Marco Polo airport ATVO) on arrival at moresco a beautifully decorated small hotel and extremely welcoming sat down whilst we waited for our room key and given a drink and snack.. The room was beautifully decorated and very clean!(if you want a room with bath make sure you request this on booking) the staff are extremely polite and will go out of their way to suggest restaurants/ places to go. Yes it is away from st marks square but I think this was part of the charm if you follow the yellow arrows too s.marco it takes you 25 mins to walk whilst taking in the winding canals and small shops .. I wouldn't bother with the water boat it took longer to get there than walking and was terrible bumping into every stop.. We will definitely stay here again best hotel we have stayed in and this is saying a lot! Also adding this hotel is at the highest point of Venice so was one of few places not flooded when tides come in.
