“Truly a unique experience”
Reviewed 12 January 2014

Ca' Maria Adele is tucked away in a convenient, yet rather hidden and peaceful location. When we arrived, like many other guests have said, we were whisked to a sitting room with a fireplace and given Prosecco and some fresh treats. We were soon escorted to our room through a winding set of staircases. The hotel was ultra quiet and it was literally as if we were the only guests in the whole hotel. The room was a theme room (ours was the Oriental room), which was a little odd - but extraordinarily large in European terms and with a luxurious bathroom that was more than welcome after our stays in several other hotels in Europe. The service was excellent, complete with turn down service at night (rose petals, chocolates... you name it). My absolute favorite thing was the breakfast - ordered by menu and delivered to any of the multiple places in the hotel (we always took ours in bed), I more than took advantage of the delightfully unlimited options (one morning I had Prosecco, hot chocolate, AND a cafe latte to drink) and it was all delicious.

Overall, it is a luxurious and romantic hotel (romantic, primarily because of its dark, gothic undertones and total privacy and quiet), but I did think it had a particularly quirky and haunting quality... something you should be prepared for, at least (and then enjoy once you are there). You will see what I mean.

We saw this hotel (and its amazing rooms) online and decided to book. On arrival, we were ushered to the amazing fireplace room with complementary hot chocolates, tea, and biscuits. From here on, the experience was simply divine. The red room was even better than the photos we saw, it takes travelers to a new level of boutique, simply amazing and a must see. The complementary taxi ride to Murano and private tour at the glass factory makes this even better value for money and make you feel a million dollars. The best for us was yet to come, when two staff delivered the most opulent breakfast in bed (o' la la :-). This hotel is an absolute gem in Venice and is a perfect marriage to the world's most romantic city.

Room Tip: The red room!!

I have been to Venice now 4 times over the years and 3 times having stayed at the Ca Maria Adele this hotel is amazing, and never fails to disappoint us. I have written a review on this hotel before but I have not been for a couple of years so wondered if standards had changed but I am glad to say that my stay was just as wonderful as the first time !!! We stayed in one of the concept rooms which I have stayed in before they are just fantastic and all different but the other delux rooms are just as lovely, which I have stayed in and the hotel have just added two other new rooms next door.

This is a small boutique hotel in the lovely Dorsoduro district which is probably no more than about 10 mins walk from St Marks Square I have stayed New Years Eve before and have slept really well as the noise from St Marks Square on New Years Eve is very noisy but we could not even hear from where we were which was great !!! A great location.

If you wish to get your own private water taxi from the airport it's 110 Euros one way but a bit cheaper if you book the return with them there and then if not its 110 Euros back you can book this when you arrive at the airport it takes about 25 mins by boat or you can take the local water bus which I have not done before but this would take about 2 hours as it stops quite a lot, or you can ask the hotel to arrange a car to collect you from the airport take a short 15 min drive to one of the canals and from there about 12 mins water ride ( which we have done before) but slightly dearer than 110 Euros.

I have tried one other hotel in venice before which was very nice and maybe I should try others but I am somewhat drawn to this hotel time and time again so if you have a great stay and enjoy the surroundings why stay anywhere else !!!!! Also great breakfasts cooked or continental and you can have them in your hotel room / terrace or dinging area ---- I will be back !!!

We spent New Year's Eve in Venice and stayed at Ca' Maria. Gorgeous, exotic boutique hotel - wonderful gothic decorations for Christmas, breakfast at a square table surrounding an enormous decoration of branches, snow, birds on twigs. Delicious breakfast delivered on a tray at the table based on one's order the night before. Quiet and very central, close to Peggy Guggenheim and a vaporetto stop. Very comfortable bedroom/shower - just sad we couldn't spend longer.

We took my brother-in-law and his wife here to celebrate his special big zeros birthday as they'd never been to Venice before. A neighbour to The Salute it is in a quiet sector of the Dorseduro with kluxuriously appointed rooms, a small but charming lounge, an amazing breakfast room and a roof-top terrace on which to savour a late evening drink from the help-yourself bar ! A romantic, beautiful place to stay in this extraordinarily beautiful city.

Where to start, this boutique hotel is gorgeous, small, friendly, romantic and in a great position. Near to the canal and San Marco and you can walk everywhere from here or jump in the gondola.

The room was stunningly decorated as was the bar and breakfast room, very unique and venician in style. Lovely fresh linen, bath towels and good toiletries. Petals left on bed at night and fruit and chocolates.

The breakfast was lovely, good choice and well presented and mini bars in room filled daily.

Venice is a fabulous city, so much to see and do. Great little restaurants, cafes and bars where you can sit and watch the world go.

Would I stay here again, in a heartbeat

Room Tip: We had a suite, it was great

It was the 1st night of our honeymoon and we arrived on an overnight sleeper train from Paris into Venice train station. On a wet, windy, and cold day (they don't tell you about this kind of weather in the glossy travel brochures !) we took the ferry to the door-step of the Ca Maria Adele. We were hours early for check-in and cold and wet. But after a brief welcome into the hotel, we were told to leave our bags in reception and move around to the decadently furnished lounge where we ordered freshly-squeezed OJs (best OJ I've had in a long while) and filtered coffees to warm us up.

By the time we had finished the complementary drinks our room was ready. The room was well-furnished, clean, with an impressive bath and a dizzy array of complementary toiletries, and most importantly of all it was snug. And throughout our stay this is in essence what the hotel was about - snugness. Everything was frilly, or fluffy, or warm, or scented, or tactile, or visually stimulating, or all of these put together. And if you put all these snug things together in the hotel it made us feel like we were back in our own home wrapped up in a warm duvet on the sofa on a cold winter's night whilst watching a movie and drinking a glass of wine. No wonder it was voted winner of the World Luxury Hotels in 2012 and the Most Romantic Hotel in Europe 2013.

And I know it is a phrase used too often but I use it here as quite literally 'nothing was too much trouble for them' from restaurants, gondola rides, more drinks, attractions off the beaten track, the state of Venice, to the future of the Euro (joke,,, no, not the Euro, but the fact we discussed it !).

After our 3 weeks in Italy we discussed our best hotel out of the 8 we stayed in and this one came out the overall winner. Its location, hospitality, rooms, bathrooms, and breakfast are top notch.
