To avoid the crowded, very touristy haunts in Venice, I chose for the far more calm "Left Bank" of the city, Dorsoduro, where art galleries and small cafes are a welcome escape--and stayed in this charming hotel where incurably individualized service is the norm. Everything about my stay was memorable, the personalized breakfast service, the themed rooms that reflect Venetian history, and the always attentive staff ready to help me no matter what the request. Venice is terrific, filled with wonderful sights, but it does get tiring, but here I found a relaxful oasis that is beautifully situated near the iconic Basilica Salute and a vaporetto stop on the Grand Canal. Be prepared, the hotel is not for budget travelers. But its lavishness and enchanting beauty are well worth the price.

Room Tip: All the rooms are quiet and beautifully decorated, but ask for the Doges Room.

From the moment you step into Ca' Maria Adele, you know you're in a special place. We stayed in one of the suites on the top floor in early March. The room was exquisite and there was attention to every detail in the room. The staff was friendly and very helpful. It's located away from the more touristy areas of Venice, which makes it a very romantic and relaxing venue. This hotel was such a treat and will live in our memories for a long time.

We spent two nights here during Carnival this year. Great small gem of a hotel Best for couples. Very romantic. Tucked in a small neighborhood near the Guggenheim Museum...great area for shopping and wonderful dinners at neighborhood places. Very convenient to San Marco area without being in the busy area of the square.

Room Tip: Be aware that they are restoring the Cathedral next to the inn. Ask for a room that doesn't fac...

We booked the hotel to celebrate our engagement and were therefore looking for the ultimate romantic experience. We were not disappointed. The service was exceptional; whenever we returned to our room we discovered a fresh tidy and new touches. After exploring Venice, we reached the conclusion the hotel was located in the best location. Very central, but quiet. The touch of a bath at the end of the bed was a special addition. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Ask for the suite with the bath at the end of the bed.

Wow what a hotel! Booked after being excellently reviewed in the Gaurdian, this hotel totally delivered and lived up to its great reviews.

Location

The hotel in my opinion is in the best location. Tucked away next to the beautiful Santa Maria de Salute Basillica in the Dorsoduro district. The area is residential therefore offering lots of charm, peace and quiet. Within the vicinity of Ca' Maria Adele, you will find restaurants, boutique designer shops and art galleries. What makes the location perfect is the Salute Vaporetto stop on the Grand Canal is less lhan a minute away from the hotel. (This is the stop you need to get off at to reach the hotel). The stop is one stop away from Piazza San Marco (St Marks Square) which means you're never too far away from the action.

The Service

The service was impeccable! We arrived earlier than our check in time had stated, but this was no problem. The room was ready within 20 minutes. In the mean time we were greeted, seated in the living room area and welcomed with refreshing juices and Italian savouries and biscuits. The front desk check in were always polite and extremely helpful when needed. The room was cleaned everyday to high standards and turn down service was provided. Everyone was very pleasant and made our stay all the more enjoyable.

Breakfast

Breakfast was one thing we really enjoyed and looked forward to having. Deciding on what to have for breakfast the night before and where to have it was unconvential yet it seem to add something to our wonderful experience. Breakfast was always served on time, well presented and delicious. The breakfast was mainly continental and was of very high quality. We chose to have breakfast twice on the terrace and once in our room. We loved breakfast on the terrace as for most parts we were by ourselves and enjoyed the setting.

The Hotel and the Room

The hotel was beautifuly appointed and designed throughout. There are sensual and gothic themes running throughout. The themes vary room from room which was visually stimulating. There was lots of attention to detail and is the perfect setting for couples looking for a luxurious ,romantic getaway.
We stayed in the annexe room within a recently renovated 4 storey Venetian appartment co joined and owned by the hotel. We enjoyed the fact theat we were the only guest in the building which has two guest rooms in total. On the ground floor we had the living/ lounge area to ourselves which was occaisonaly used. Our bedroom was on the 3rd floor which had a living area, fire place, and shower room. The room had a complimentary mini bar (nice touch), free wi-fi, electronic safe and lots of storage space. The theme was of dicreet opulence creating a relaxed mood. The purples and golds along with velvet curtains and quality furninshing heightened the luxury without being to loud. The fourth and final floor had its very own balcony overlooking the charming residental venetian street. We felt like private residents here in a very intimate and romantic setting

Me and my wife thoroughly enjoyed staying here and would return in a heartbeat if we decided to return to Venice.

Notes

Do not stay here if your expecting a conventional hotel. Hotel has no lift (quite common in most parts of venice), fitness room, spa or assigned bar or restaurants, although light snack are available.

In my opinion this is an adults only boutique hotel, not designed for families with young children.

Room Tip: We stayed in the annexe room in recently renovated Venetian appartment co joined to the hotel. We fe...

My husband booked this hotel based on it`s rating as having the 2nd most sensual bedrooms in Europe! Ok , we just had a normal room and the suites are the ones that got this hotel it`s accolade but this was one of the few experiences in Venice that was positive! We were in Venice to experience Carnival so we expected high prices but we had so many experiences that left a bitter taste in our mouth, with the exception of this hotel! It is expensive but lives up to expectations!!! From the moment we arrived the service was exceptional ! Reception staff greeted us at the water taxi, unloaded our suitcases and took us to a divine lounge where we were served champagne and nibbles. The room was simple but very well decorated and classy with an enormous super comfortable bed, divine luxurious duvet and pillows and fluffy towels etc! Modern bathroom and a bottle of complementary champagne for our Valentine`s anniversary as my husband had mentioned in passing that we had been in Venice 12 years before for valentines! A really professional personal touch! The breakfast was included , we filled out our order the first night before we went to bed saying we would eat in the breakfast room but woke up late and phoned to ask then if they could bring breakfast to the room as we had gone to bed late! No problem , gorgeous breakfast was delivered hot, at no extra cost, a miracle in Italy!!! We had all our breakfasts after that in bed, all delivered on time, piping hot and with the best ingredients, omelettes that were made from real eggs, not the normal powdered version you usually get in hotels, super crispy bacon , unbelievably good Mozarella cheese , perfect Cappuchinos etc!!!! When we ordered second Cappuchinos , they were delivered by the time we put the phone down! Room was spotless, towels perfect etc. Anything we asked of reception was sorted out instantly by super friendly staff! Also taxis they organised were better priced than phoning a regular company and always reliable! The decor is creative and unusual and it has an exclusive feel! I especially want to mention the wonderful Phillipino guy who seemed to work 24 hours with a huge smile!!! He delivered the bags, brought the breakfast, cleaned the room etc! We didn`t drink our complimentary champagne on the first day but on the third day we wanted to have champagne before we went to our ball, in ten minutes they brought a cold bottle in ice in 10 minutes!!! We were happy to pay the price , as unlike many of our experiences in Venice, this hotel was worth every hard earned penny! Thanks to all of the fabulous staff!!! Ps Hotel is super well located for all sightseeing etc, it is about 150 m across the canal from Place San Marco.
