We spent only one night in this hotel before cruise. The location is really very good, close to the port and to the bus station, many shops and restaurants around. Room was small but very comfortable, clean and nice. Special thanks want to say to the receptionists, they were very helpful, explained how to get to all places of interested. Even after cruise, when we came back to Venice and had half day before our flight, bag-store near the bus station was filled up, so we went back to the hotel and asked to keep bags (we did not have reservation),receptionist recognized us after a week and without any questions was glad to help us.Really appreciate!!!

The hotel was in the perfect location and reasonably priced. The train station, vaporetto, tourist info, restaurants and shops were within an arm's distance. The hotel, itself, is beautifully decorated, the rooms colorful and the breakfast room bright and cheery. Breakfast was ample, the waitstaff very nice and the older gentleman very funny.
The airconditioning worked well but you had to tell the front desk to turn it on.
The front desk was helpful and polite.
I would definitely stay here again!

We stayed at this hotel for two nights while we were in Venice. It's located a short walk from the Santa Lucia train station and some of the water bus stations so it's a great spot. It's about a 15 minute walk to Ponte Vecchio and about 30 minutes from Piazza San Marco. It's on a main street which is also nice. There is an external elevator towards the back.

The lobby is nicely decorated. The ceiling in our room was basically a large mirror, which was interesting. The wi-fi is not free, I think it's a few Euros per hour and can only be used in the lobby. The front desk also charges for maps of the city. There is also a city tax that needs to be paid.

Our biggest complaint was that when we got there the air conditioner wasn't working. We had to sleep with the windows open and got badly bitten by mosquitoes. Don't do this! Also when we arrived the entire hotel had no hot water, luckily it was very hot that day. We could hear workers banging on water pipes late into the night, and it was fixed the next day.

We also forgot something in our room and tried to call the hotel a bunch of times to ask if it was there in a lost-and-found. Every time we called they told us to call back in 2 hours.

The renovation is superb. Rooms very comfortable. Great location and helpful people. My room was on third floor and no lift but I was helped with my bag. Not too noisy either. Breakfast very nice. It is about 1 km walk which was to much in heat of day so took taxi at 9 E. worth it as saved my feet so I could hike up to old part of town and then stroll the palazzo and shopping street after dinner.

Hotel Belle Epoque is a beautiful and charming hotel located within walking distance of the train station which for me was important since I was carrying quite a bit of luggage. Besides being lovely and clean, the hotel is very well situated with an accommodating staff and is definitely a good value. My teenagers and I enjoyed our stay and we hope to visit again one day soon.

My partner and I really enjoyed our visit to Venice and having the option to stay in a characteristic three star hotel in the centre of Venice definitely helped. Our room had great decor, a view overlooking the rustic buildings of Venice and provided a peaceful contrast to the buzzing streets outside. The unique glass elevator took us up to the third floor in style and all in all we had a pleasant, hassle-free stay here. Breakfast in the morning was varied and fresh. Only points for consideration really were the lack of inclusive wi-fi and lack of security for baggage drop - we left our bags with about two dozen other suitcases in an unsecure area - in reality there is nothing stopping bags from walking out the door, sans owners.

Room Tip: Try to choose a room at the back of the hotel - away from the busy streets.

The location is perfect, only a couple of blocks from the train station. I parked my car in Mestre for 26 euros per day and took the train to Venice for 2 euros. This hotel is also about 10 minutes from Piazza Roma and not too far from Piazza San Marco. It's on a busy street, lots of shops and restaurants and less than a block from the main canal.
THE FRONT DESK
The decor is impressive, the lobby is narrow and very long. The check in was fast. You can buy a map for 1.20, which I really would recommend. I walked for 6 hours that day and never got lost.
THE ELEVATOR
It's an external glass elevator. This was added as part of the renovations.
THE ROOM
Small comes to mind. The view was mostly rooftops from the 4th floor, which is the top. Lots of large windows that can be opened. There are also good curtains to black out the light. The bathroom is large, it has a bidet as well as a shower, no tub. The room also has a desk and a small chair in the corner. The walls are covered with a cloth material. Wi-fi only in the lobby and it's not cheap, so I didn't use it. The bed was mainly 2 single beds placed together, it was fairly comfortable as long as I didn't get too close to the center. The antique style decor seems to be fairly new. Everything is very clean and smells fresh. The central air conditioning was quiet and worked very well. You get a big key that you leave at the front desk when you go out.
THE BREAKFAST
It was just OK. Continental style, the buffet area is very narrow with counter along both walls and it can get crowded. In between all that they have someone making special coffees. They had warm plain croissants, jams, fruit salad with yogurt topping, cold cuts and cereals.

I would go back, mainly for the location and price.
