Good location re close to San Marco but entry down a dodgy lane way. Room is a good size with great bed. I knew this b&b was on the 3rd floor and thats ok as we are fit. Previous comments suggest collection at the water bus stop and offerings to the islands but we have not seen anyone or had any advice or help at all other than breakfast being delivered. Be aware that there are 60 steps from the foyer up to the doorway however there is a landing light at the bottom foyer and again at the top. 8 levels of stairs are dark when we stayed here this week. It is quite noisy as our room windows on the 3rd floor open on to a busy path for tourists. The shower in our room leaks water through an old cut off pipe over the tiled floor and this may contribute to the poor water pressure. Things that I expected/missed for a double room from a b&b at €135 per night plus tourist tax as a seasoned traveller include soap, glasses for water, a place to make a cup of tea/coffee. Anyway, that's our 3 nights in Venice. Ciao.

We stayed at this place a few years back. Beautiful large rooms great location. We were 2 couples in 2 rooms on the third floor. (no lifts). We were met at the realto bridge and were guided to the place.
Would love to stay again but just found out it is fully booked for the days before and after, the Cruise that we have booked from Venice in late July this year. 2014.
now we are still looking for a similar place.

CA’ DA POZZO –WE LOVED IT!! Try this place first. Nanni (owner) is that best friend you haven’t met yet!!

1. NO “BAD SURPRISES”-THE ROOM YOU ARE LED TO EXPECT WILL BE THE ROOM YOU GET. Same room as in the image. Humble, but clean. All amenities same as promised.

2. NANNI MEETS YOU AT THE STATION. This is very important. We had been traveling for 20+ hours by the time we arrived at bus (boat) station, and we would have been lost without her to take us the last few blocks into the bldg. and up into our room.

3. NO SUDDEN CANCELLATION, LOSS OF CONTACT, OR WONDERING IF YOU STILL HAVE AN AGREEMENT. Until we arrived, she continued to keep in touch by email as much as we needed (to feel reassured) even after booking and deposit had taken place.

4. THE BREAKFAST IS WONDERFUL. Every day we got coffee, or cappuccino, and toast and marmalade, and croissants, and hot grilled cheese with mortadella sandwich, and grapefruit juice, and tiny packaged pound cakes (to take with you). She brings it to you at the hour you request (I suppose within reason). As we slowly recovered from our jet lag, we moved breakfast from 9:30 to 7:30.

5. SHE TIDIES YOUR ROOM EVERYDAY. No need to make your own bed. Sheets and towels changed once a week.

6. SHE IS VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL. ASK HER ANYTHING. Nanni works very hard to make your experience as pleasant and easy as possible. She takes your vacation as seriously as you do. She speaks English well AND YOU CAN TRUST HER WHEN YOU ASK HER what you will like, how to find places, and when to avoid them.

Because of an airport strike in Athens we didn't arrive until 11.30pm. A phone call to Nanni and 5 minutes later she arrived at the waterbus stop to show us the way and despite the hour she made us a welcoming cup of coffee.
Nanni was helpful with advice and directions and made several phone calls on our behalf, she even did our laundry for us.
The room and bathroom were very clean and the bed was very comfortable.
The B & B is located 6 or 7 minutes walk from St Marks Square where you can find many restaurants or alternatively 3 or 4 minutes in the other direction there are also plenty to choose from - a great location.
Yes, there are 3 flights of stairs but we found them manageable.
All in all we had a great visit which was made all the more enjoyable by Nanni.

I had made a reservation on their seemingly sophisticated on-line reservation system almost two months in advance of my trip to Venice. A few days before departing on my trip, I contacted the hotel to confirm. At first, the hotel would not answer my calls which were well within their business hours. Then a woman answered, and after the greeting conversation, as soon as I gave her my name, she pretended not to hear me by saying "hell? hello?" and hung up and then would not answer the phone again. So, I had to e-mail them to confirm our reservation, and over email, she said that she could not find our reservation in her system (eventhough I was still able to view the reservation in their on-line system through the confirmation code). She said it was lost, and that she no longer had any rooms, but that she would make arrangements for us to stay at another place instead. This new place was not a hotel, so she could not provide a name, or the address before making a decision to stay at this new place, and she instructed us (two women traveling alone) to bring advance cash payment. Feeling very uncomfortable about this situation, we declined her offer to "help" us, as it was not helpful at all.

So, at the last minute, we had to find another reservation (in Venice in May where the busy season is just about to begin.) Fortunately we were able to find a reservation at another hotel, but at a much higher price. I am guessing that this hotel found some other people that would pay more than we had committed to pay them and went with other people.

In short, this is not a dependable place to make advanced reservation and would caution against relying on them.

This is a quaint little Italian B & B, in which you can tell you are in Venice. The room was delightfully furnished in tradition where we were staying. The owner, Nanni and her sister went beyond what would be expected of a B & B. They gave me detailed directions to get from the airport to the B & B and even met me at the terminal to escort me to the property. Breakfast was lovely and they arranged the best trip of our holiday, to Murano island for us, free of charge. This included a private taxi boat to the Island and our own personal English speaking tour guide around the factory, where we witnessed craftsmen producing their glasswear. On draw back was the 4 flights of stairs up to the room, but was worth it for the warmth of the welcome. Position of the B & B was also amazing for those who want to visit St Marks Square. You are literally a two/three minute walk away. We planned this trip on a very low budget and thought well we are only sleeping in the room, doesnt really matter what it looks like. We didnt expect much for what we paid (being one of the cheapest ones I found), but was amazed, not only excellent value for money, but excellent service, quality and cleanliness, with amazing location. Cant recommend enough.

Venice was our last stop during our thirty day vacation in Italy. I was pleased with all our lodging selections except Ca del pozzo bed and breakfast. First, the location is not in St. Marks Squre; instead it is located in an old, decaying piazza or campo called San Mauricio. Just a word about garbage collection: in the evening the residents of surrounding apartments take their plastic bags to the center of the campo leaving them on a broken down fountain. Second, the building itself, combination of hotel, apartments and b&b with a dirty foyer off an alley. Third, the climb to the 'third' floor. However, with twenty foot ceilings the third floor is equivalent to what would be the fifth floor in today's construction. Fourth, the noise at night making sleep impossible.
I would never recommend this b&b. Fifth, the exorbitant price of 80 euros per person, per night in cash. Makes me wonder . . .
