“Great Bed and Breakfast in Venice!”
Reviewed 2 August 2014

My boyfriend and I stayed at Ca' del Pozzo in July for 3 nights. The location was absolutely perfect, it was a 5 minute walk to Piaza San Marco, when you walk right down stairs you're next to a central canal. There was a great little pizza place right down stairs to the right where you could get a cheap slice of pizza. The service at the bed and breakfast was punctual and very responsive. We had a wonderful time in Venice and Ca' del Pozzo and we definitely recommend staying here!!

We stayed here for 3 nights in mid June. Very well located, easy and quick to walk to the grand canal, and 5 minutes from St Mark's square. The owner was very friendly and approachable. Annalisa delivered the breakfast in the mornings and although it suited us, the selection was limited and sweet so may not suit all tastes.

Room was comfortable in venetian style, there was a very good air conditioning unit. It was always kept clean with new towels daily. We did not find the stairs mentioned by previous guests to be an issue at all.

We stayed at this hotel in early June and we had a wonderful time. AnnaLisa was fabulous (friendly, responsive and great service) and we got to meet her daughter, Elena :-). The room was spacious (family of 4), clean, and the breakfast was simple yet very good. The location was perfect (central and close to San Marco Square), and our room had a beautiful view of the piaza and church. I would re-book this hotel and would recommend anyone to stay at this hotel.
Thank you Annalisa - you made our stay in Venice more enjoyable.

A very unassuming, yet excellent bed & breakfast hotel in the heart of Venice. As a family of 4, we stayed here for 2 nights and would not mind coming back again. Great value for money. A few tips and watch factors :

1. This is a B&B, and not attended 24x7 by any permanent staff. We connected with the hotel ahead of our coming in and this was helpful to find our way in. If you are coming from the main train station, take the Water Taxi Route No 1 to come to Santa Maria dela Giglio (Giglio) stop. Get down and walk straight in through a narrow alley till you hit the dead end of a church wall. Take left and hit a bridge over the canal. Where the bridge forks into two - take the right arm. Cross the next bridge and take a sharp right by the side of the canal. The street (or rather a dark underpass between two buildings) is the first left. It was quite a challenge to find this place at the first instance, even with a map, for the first timers to Venice. Two police women were kind enough to show us the way. The walk is around 5 mins from the boat stop in a brisk saunter. With luggage, it is quite a walk and climb up and down ! And you still need to climb 60 steps to reach the 3rd floor of the building to get in - and no elevators.

2. If this sounds scary, the place is certainly not. We had a large room (really large with 4 beds and enough moving space) overlooking the Piazza Santa Maurizio. The room was well appointed and cleaned daily. Nanni and Deborah run the place and are courteous enough. There are many eateries and bars in close proximity and you are virtually living 700 m from St. Mark's. The breakfast is served in the room and is a simple fare. They only accept cash.

3. As an abundant caution, it would be good to get the access code for the electronic buzzer next to the main door on ground floor - saves you the trouble of waiting for someone to respond to the intercom. You will get a set of keys for the 4 doors that you need to navigate to get to your room - without these, you are hopelessly stuck. Make sure you coordinate well with Nanni / Deborah on the time of your arrival so that you are not stranded on the canal !

Hope this helps. Long and short - great location, good price, reasonable service - but be prepared for some adventure and exercise.

To arrive at the hotel, we passed an alley that no one says you have to have at the end of the corridor. A warm, super comfortable hotel with great breakfast and service desk enviable run by Mr. Nicola. Two times went to Venice and we stayed in the same hotel. Highly recommend to all.

Good location re close to San Marco but entry down a dodgy lane way. Room is a good size with great bed. I knew this b&b was on the 3rd floor and thats ok as we are fit. Previous comments suggest collection at the water bus stop and offerings to the islands but we have not seen anyone or had any advice or help at all other than breakfast being delivered. Be aware that there are 60 steps from the foyer up to the doorway however there is a landing light at the bottom foyer and again at the top. 8 levels of stairs are dark when we stayed here this week. It is quite noisy as our room windows on the 3rd floor open on to a busy path for tourists. The shower in our room leaks water through an old cut off pipe over the tiled floor and this may contribute to the poor water pressure. Things that I expected/missed for a double room from a b&b at €135 per night plus tourist tax as a seasoned traveller include soap, glasses for water, a place to make a cup of tea/coffee. Anyway, that's our 3 nights in Venice. Ciao.

We stayed at this place a few years back. Beautiful large rooms great location. We were 2 couples in 2 rooms on the third floor. (no lifts). We were met at the realto bridge and were guided to the place.
Would love to stay again but just found out it is fully booked for the days before and after, the Cruise that we have booked from Venice in late July this year. 2014.
now we are still looking for a similar place.
