This hotel was a great choice. We've stayed in the room overlooking Santa Maria Formosa. The view was great, the room was really nice and clean and the hotel personnel was kind and helpful. The restaurant they recommend for dinner - Al Giardinetto - was also very good.
I would choose this again.

We stayed in this Hotel in 2012, but this time the service has dropped. As a return customer we were offered a free drink on the balcony... this never happened! Our room wasn't ready when we arrived back after 2:00pm and once it was it took far too long for our bags to reach our room. The guy on night reception needs to learn some customer service and also how to smile! We would stay here again....no!

Vitturi, Direttore at Hotel Palazzo Vitturi, responded to this reviewResponded 2 June 2014

I was here during the first stay in 2012 AND luckily I was at the desk during the recent stay: we remembered eachother shaking our hands upon check-in and smiled.

Since guests arrived before check-in time, I remember they accepted my offer for an aperitive on the balcony. A few minutes later, when we were reaching the balcony with 2 fresh 'Bellini' they went out because they were hungry. So I personally pointed the way to a good place for lunch (Al Giardinetto). I didn't feel or realized they were upset.

After their first holiday here (the management hasn't changed in the meanwhile) we did some improvements that I was proud to mention to them (for example NEW breakfast room with more space, light and better selection on the Buffet). For this reason I'm even more sorry for not having been able to meet their right expectations.
The night staff have also been reported about this complaint and for the mentioned not speedy delivery of the luggage, for which I personally apologize.

We stayed here for three nights when we were in VenIce celebrating our 25th Wedding Anniversary. We stayed in room 11 which had wonderful views over the square. We had breakfast on the terrace and presecco in the room. The staff were terrific and couldn't do enough for us, in fact everything was very special indeed. Wonderful memories.....

We stayed in for five nights in room 23. It is a lovely old building with interesting features in a square not far from St Marks. The hotel was clean, comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful. However you should know that there is no lift and the stairs are very steep which could be a difficulty for old or disabled people. One thing - the coffee was cold every morning (its a self service deal), but just ask the staff to make you a fresh one. The hotel recommended a local restaurant for dinner and it was amazing - great food in a beautiful courtyard. I would certainly recommend this hotel and will stay there again in the future.

Room Tip: Definitely pay the extra for a superior room

Owing to its relaxing, convenient location, it's past era look building, spacious room, spotless bathroom and friendly staff, hotel Palazzo Vitturi made our stay in venice exceptional. It was our first time in Venice and we really enjoyed our relaxing time in this clean and welcoming place. We were hoping to get a room with a view overlooking the square but had no luck, however we still enjoyed our beautiful room. We would highly recommend this place, and would also like to thank, Michaele, the hotel manager, for his recommendations for good restaurants and great places to visit.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the square.

We had a lovely stay at this beautiful 13th century building. There is a sense of faded grandeur about the place which gives the hotel a feeling of time and place. You could only be in Venice. Our room was beautiful and very large , overlooking Santa Maria Formosa Square ,.bathroom was spotless and beautifully appointed. Staff were extremely charming and helpful. We had access to a balcony overlooking the busy square which was a welcome rest place to return to after the hectic streets of Venice. But a couple of stall holders do set up early in the morning if this would bother you. Authentic Venice.

A short walk from the Rialto stop. The staff is wonderful, the room we got was the quadruple, which was like staying at a castle, huge room with big screen tv, a good touch was the charging station for the electronics, charged 2 iphones, 2 ipads and a camera at the same time. Bathroom was by itself on a second floor. Very unique setting and my 7 yr old daughter loved if.
Overall good hotel, excelent location and great service.
