Our La Familia of six adults just returned from 3 nights and we were so glad to have discovered this wonderful quaint family feel as it reminded us of a bed & breakfast in the USA. From the moment we arrived Fausto and Nee were so welcoming and full of information and helpfulness throughout our stay with so many great recommendations. Fausto was able to saved us 50 EUR on our taxi service when we were leaving Venice!

Breakfast was a perfect treat to start off each day.

We will recommend to our family/friends visiting in the future as this is the perfect setup for a quiet place that is not commercialized and easy to find and close to Ft Nove dock.

Thanks,

Mary, Bob, Rita, Andre, Tana & Jerry - La Familia Clan May 2014 (USA)

We stayed here for a couple of nights in May and felt this accommodation was in a great location, not too far (approx 15 mins) to walk to the main attractions and great value for money. It is a family run hotel, and the hosts, Fausto and his partner, were extremely friendly at all times and offered us helpful advice for our first time in venice. Breakfast was good and kept us going for most of the day - it consisted of yogurt, rolls, cake and drinks. It was easy to find on arrival, and in a quiet location so we had a peaceful nights sleep.

We stayed here for a few nights in March and staying at this place really made our trip. This is a lovely, family run, business; Fausto gave us excellent advice about things to do and places to see. In particular we noticed and appreciated, that he took the time to ask us what we liked doing and made recommendations based on that, rather than giving us a general touristy speil. The room was very quiet and clean, we had very restful nights there. The location was perfect too: peaceful and residential. It was lovely to see resident venetians going about their daily business each morning, yet it's also very near the Ospedale vaporetto stop and only 15 minutes walk from Rialto and St Marks. If you're on a tighter budget, there's a supermarket very near-by too, which was very handy to grab some fresh roles from for lunches. If you're looking for a comfortable, quiet base to explore Venice from, look no further. We will certainly be returning here on our next trip to Venice!

Room Tip: We were in the room at the back left off the breakfast area, It overlooks a garden courtyard and was...

In Venice, there are 3 things to consider with accommodation: price, location and room size. The price here was excellent, Eur 300 for a week in March (after Carnevale); Location was good, close to the northern prom of Fondamente Nove, so takes up to an hour off the Alilaguna airport transfer. About 10 minutes walk from San Marco (if you don't get lost) and a lovely restaurant nearby (Ristorante da Alvise). The only down side is you have to make an effort to walk beyond San Marco for meals (or you pay too much for poor food) - do make the effort and walk beyond to Dorsoduro and San Polo and on a Monday perhaps cater a picnic from the local co-op as no decent restaurant opens in Venice on a Monday (the fish market is closed so nothing fresh). Finally, room size. In Venice, you can pay a fortune for a shoe box, so to get a room where you can walk around the double bed easily, there are 2 windows, a desk, fridge, tv and a decent shower room, you really can't complain. Also excellent free wifi if you have your own laptop or smartphone. The managers are very welcoming and helpful, Fausto also writes a good blog. We will return here, but start our "Venice training" earlier next time!

Have just returned from a weeks holiday in Venice staying at Alloggi Barbaria. The hotel has 8 bedrooms and a small breakfast area, there is also a terrace which is open in the summer. Fausto and Ye run the hotel extremely well and are very friendly and courteous at all times.

The room is small and clean. We stayed in room 1 which had a view over the neighbours garden terrace which is beautiful. The room also has a fridge.

Breakfasts were more than adequate with tea or coffee, yoghurt, rolls, and cake.

The hotel is situated near Ospedale Vaparetto stop. There is a In Coop supermarket close by.

The walk from the hotel to St. Marks Square is approximately 15 minutes.

There is a wonderful restaurant close by called Da Alvise which we highly recommend, the staff were friendly and the food was excellent especially the pizzas and seafood.

Overall this small hotel offers excellent value for money.

Look forward to returning one day soon.

Friendly people, very clean rooms and a very good service. Close to St. Marcsquare, the Rialtobridge and the island of Murano. It's in a quiet little neiborhood, close to a supermarket, trattoria, fruitshops and a stop voor the waterbus and watertaxies.

My partner and I spent one night in a double room. The hotel is quite easy to find after one waterbus trip. The instructions on the hotel website is perfect. There is one set of stairs to reach the reception but it was no trouble at all. The reception staff were lovely and friendly. The room itself was clean and of a decent size as was the bathroom. The facilities are basic but it had everything we needed and it was a great base for our time in Venice. We were more than comfortable for that one night. Breakfast was plentiful, tasty, and provided a perfect start to the day.

The hotel is located away from the main hustle and bustle but everything was only a short walk away. We would definitely stay here again!
