“Absolutely Fantastic Opera Balletto in Masks and 18thc clothing”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 July 2013

What a wonderful performance in a small beautiful theatre. We were so close to the opera singers and ballet dancer it was so special. The musicians (harpist/violinists and cello) were supreme musicians of the highest calibre, the opera singers moved me to tears with their arias and the single ballet dancer was elegant and beautiful. We didnt know what to expect but we thoroughly enjoyed this exhilarating and moving performance. If you love classical music and easily recognisable opera arias this is an absolute must - go and see it you won't be disappointed. Congratulations to everyone involved in this small and intimate production. We wish you every success. Easily accessible by water bus Line 1 Ca' Rezzonico. The performance lasts about 1 hr 40 mins with 16 beautiful arias.

“Overpriced, underperformed”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 July 2013

Know that this is a show that takes place in a beautiful, yet unventilated room. There is no program to inform the audience, and there is no rake to the seating. The Soamish review hits it spot on: this is a performance for tourists who don't know anything about opera.

“Opera balleto in Scuola grande Dei Carmini - well worth seeing”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 May 2013

We booked this after walking past the Scuola for the same night.
This performance included only a few musicians, a soprano and tenor, also a ballet dancer.
They were dressed in costumes and masks.
As an opera novice we really enjoyed the performance which was of a high standard in a lovely setting.
It was also quite short which suited us very well.
Would highly recommend this as a taster for a longer opera.
