“Amazing Stay”
Reviewed 3 February 2014

I'm a 21 year old college student who was studying abroad in London during the time of my stay in Spring 2013. I was a little worried about finding the place, considering I don't know a lick of Italian! The person at the desk was outstandingly helpful-- drawing up maps for my friend and I and giving us great advice. We had a big, beautiful room. It wasn't of the water, as the main image might make you think, but it was of a stunning courtyard.

While our room was clean, nicely scented and plenty big enough, we didn't spend much time in it! Since Venice is relatively small, we had 0 issues walking around the city. There are great restaurants nearby and if you walk for about 10-15 mins you will stumble upon large squares and Plaza San Marco.

I absolutely adored this place and felt very confident that I was not getting taken advantage of (monetarily) because of my age or gender. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was simple but tasty. They also made us espressos in the morning :) I recommend this place to all my friends studying abroad now!

Room Tip: Pay attention to booking.com for cancellations. I was able to swoop in and snag a spacious 2-level r...

We stayed 4 nights in November 2013 and had a wonderful stay in a charming historic palazzo on the Grand Canal. Its a great location near the Academia Bridge, which is hard to lug luggage across, within easy walking distance to many attractions. Our modern room was clean and comfortable with a beautiful colored glass chandelier. The staff was polite and helpful, but not overly outgoing. The price was very reasonable with a good breakfast included. We enjoyed and recommend Foresteria Levi!

We had 3 days in Venice and booked the Foresteria. We though that we would get lost but it was easy to find and close to all to see in Venice. Room was good, lovely chandelier in the room and very neat bathroom. Lift very small and cramped but then it was no problem as we took the stairs most of the time. We took the boat back to our car park ( Academia - it was situated opposed the hotel). Had a last view of Venice as we were leaving.
Good breakfast - don't expected bacon and eggs... But it was great.
I would recommend this hotel as we had a good experience and it the price was very affordable.
On the negative side - maybe the reception can be a bit friendlier...... Or maybe it is just the Italian way!

My wife and I stayed here on a last minute trip. We had never been to Venice before, but, thanks to a brief description of the location of this hotel from the Academmia bridge, we arrived with no problems. We saw many tourists wandering around dragging luggage with frustrated faces trying to find their hotel. For the few specific locations that we wanted to find during our stay, a street address was useless. Make sure you know where you're going in Venice. It's not like Marrakech where you have a hundred kids running around asking to find an address for you.

We purchased a two person room for our weekend trip, and the location was perfect... we just wish it was a bit more comfortable.

Getting there wasn't too bad, especially with the simple street numbering scheme used on the main island. Carrying luggage up and down bridges is a very humbling experience, so if you don't mind spending some coin, you can take a private water taxi right up to the back of the Foresteria Levi.

The room was small and the bed was forgettable, but at least the bathroom was spacious and clean. Continental breakfast included croissants, coffee, juice, and some small packs of Nutella for spreading (we took a few of those for the train ride to Tuscany), enough for a quick bite before you head to the piazzas and bridges. Wifi was spotty, but you have to expect that it in Italy. At least they have it.

The location is great, within easy walking distance of St. Mark's Square and The Accademia Bridge. There's also a few nice wine bars and restaurants for appertivo around the corner, so it definitely makes for a good touch point when crawling the area for a place to eat. Just beware of the tourist trap restaurants close to the main piazzas.

Would we stay again? Maybe, but I'd probably spend some more time exploring other options, even if it meant spending a bit more money. All in all, it's not a bad option for a night or two, just don't expect too much.

My wife and I loved our stay at this hotel, located just over the bridge from the vaporetto Academmia station. (Note – when you get to Venice, purchase the three day vaporetto pass. You can get on and off the “bus” at any station along the Gran Canale, which essentially traverses the entire city.) I’ll add that the bridge can be quite a negative upon arrival and departure, as you’ll have to carry your luggage (it’s difficult rolling on the steps) over to the hotel. Having said that, our non-smoking hotel room had all the necessaries, queen-size bed, small flat-screen TV, bedroom window opening into the courtyard with view of the basilica dome, and another large window in the bathroom. The multi-colored Chiluly-type overhead chandelier in the bedroom will catch your eye. The 4’ by 4’ shower was tight, but this seems almost standard for Italian hotels. Elevator was also small, but adequate. Breakfast is included, and the coffee was strong. Staff was very friendly and helpful, spoke excellent English, and could advise you regarding all the sights of Venice. Although the vaporetto was very convenient, walking to any of Venice’s sights was also possible from this hotel’s location.

Room Tip: Locate the hotel through Google maps, as the front door can be difficult to locate at first
