“Excellent, Excellent Stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 August 2012

Alessandro and Valter created and run this top-notch boutique hotel in a beautiful and quiet part of Venice. We are a family of four, with two teenagers and we spent a bit over two weeks in Europe...Rome, Venice, Paris and London. The Hotel Al Ponte Mocenigo was the winner (hands down) of all hotels during our trip (Including the London Landmark Hotel). The hotel is super clean and quaint. We loved staying in the annex. The breakfast was very very well done. Its location is perfect...situated close enough to the train station, Vaporetto, and sites, but far enough away to enjoy some great peace and quiet (and super local dining) at the end of the day. You will love Venice. You will love the Hotel Al Ponte Mocenigo. No reservations recommending this fine property. Enjoy.

Room Tip: We loved the annex!

We stayed here for 3 nights. We had a room (free upgrade due to a cancellation) across the bridge in their newly (4 months previously) refurbished block, accessible via an intercom buzzer. Up a dark staircase and you are in a suite of rooms owned by the hotel. This meant we felt very private and secure and it was so quiet! Location is great - just ten minutes to Rialto and a bit more to San Marco. A bit more if you take the vaporetto (so convenient - just outside the hotel) cos the No 1 bus stops at EVERY stop. A bit annoying when you are trying to get to the Basilica before the crowds first thing in the morning! The breakfasts were divine (yum jam-filled warm croissants and gorgeous coffee!) and staff warm and helpful. We were so pleased we checked Tripadvisor before we booked cos this was a real find. Cheap too (for Venice) with a discount for paying cash! Can't rate this hotel highly enough.

For me the Hotel al Ponte Mocenigo is an ideal place to stay while in Venice. Easily accessible it is situated in one of the quietest areas of Venice, the Sestieri Santa Croce and so one feels it is a respite from the hubbub of the masses who visit Venice. I asked for a quiet room and was given a room in the Annex. The room was comfortable, spacious and very quiet. I was impressed with how clean everything was, the modernity couched in traditional beauty and the great bed. The staff which includes Donatello, Carlito and Giovanni among others was very attentive and went out of their way to answer my every question. Sandro and Walter, do their very best to assure that the place runs smoothly and that everyone is comfortable and happy. The ladies who serve at breakfast are considerate making sure that everyone has exactly what they want. The breakfasts are delicious and a treat with a choice of cereals, yogurt, fresh fruit, pastries, coffee, tea, juices and more. The location is central to everything one might want to visit. The San Stae Vaporetto stop is just a minute away and so any part of Venice and its beautiful canals is literally at your doorstep. Everywhere in Venice itself is walkable. On my last day there I spent a few hours in the lovely courtyard and realized that this little garden was my favourite place to sit in Venice.

Room Tip: All one needs to do is ask for what one wants and the staff will do their best to fulfill your needs...

We spent 3 nights here during our trip to Venice and really enjoyed it. While it wasn't extremely luxurious, it was very clean, well located, affordable (hard to find in Venice) and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The free breakfast was great and it was nice to enjoy a cappuccino while sitting in the courtyard. Honestly we were not sure what to make of all the 5 star reviews when we booked because you rarely find a place on Trip Advisor with this many excellent reviews and so few negative ones. The hotel lived up to its reputation and was exactly what we were looking for during our visit.

Been in Venice end of July and glad we choose this hotel. We were travelling with our son so we decided to stay in the junior suite. Very clean, well decorated and quiet. Easy to get there- only a few steps from the vaporetto. Well located, it was just a10 minutes walk to the Rialto. Breakfast was copious and very good service- they do offer second capuccinos. A real feel good experience.

My wife and I stayed for three nights. Lovely old building, very clean room, and decent breakfast -- great hot chocolate! -- in the courtyard. The location is great: easy to reach with bags/suitcases (not always a given in Venice), and also a 20 min walk from San Marco etc, so very quiet, especially at night. You can walk most of the major sights from the hotel. Very friendly staff. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: We had a superior room: did not see the standard room, but this one was a good size and nicely decor...

Loved this hotel! Huge, beautiful, comfortable room. Very clean and spacious bathroom. Breakfast was delicious and the staff was very nice and helpful. Most of all, we loved the location, off the tourist track, but very very close to the vaporetti, easy to access. Would definitely go back!
