“This hotel is a keeper!”
Reviewed 5 September 2012

I booked this hotel based on the reviews at Trip Advisors. I was a little nervous at first not knowing anyone personally who had stayed there. However, my fears disappeared upon arrival by water taxi.

This is a great little hotel in a good location. The breakfast was a real delight. The hosts and owners, Walter and Sandro were terrific. They were helpful in everyday. There were six in our party and each one said repeatedly that they would definitely stay at this hotel again. I would not hesitate to recommend this lovely little jewel.

Room Tip: We stayed in the annex. It was quiet and lovely.

We stayed here almost two years ago but just realised I hadn't left a review! We actually booked a room after a friend had recommended it and were oblivious to its good reputation on Trip Advisor. We weren't disappointed. We toured Italy for our honeymoon and, having stayed in Venice before, only wanted to stay for just the one night. I emailed the hotel to ask their availability and the owner replied in excellent English to say that it wasn't normally their policy to rent out rooms for one night only (two nights being the minimum) but as it was our honeymoon and that a friend had recommended us, he would make an exception and we made the booking. He apologised that there was only availability in the annexe, but this was not a problem at all. The room was elegant, clean, large, extremely quiet, and typically Venetian. Just lovely. Breakfast was an intimate affair, and the food was fresh and delicious. The manager (whose name I can't remember) was VERY helpful. He recommended an excellent restaurant just around the corner for our evening meal, and it didn't disappoint. It was excellent, and very reasonably priced (for Venice). I adore Venice. It's my favourite city, and this was an excellent hotel. Can't wait to return.

Room Tip: Rooms in the annexe are wonderful.

Very nice Staff & helpful. The owner is really nice guys, went out of his way to help us feel welcome, since we had arrived 4-5 hours before check-in time.

It is very conveniently located near the water taxi station, where you can get rides to airport and everywhere else.

Breakfast was awesome, this was highlight of the hotel. We were served like we were part of family.

The room we had was little small, but the decor is nice, clean and pleasant.

My family of four stayed here for three nights in July. We started our first night in their family room in their annex just around the corner. It is a pretty, solid stone building with beautiful furnishings. We then moved into the main hotel into a slightly larger room, which was also decorated in rich, Venetian-style fabrics and high ceilings. The beds were comfortable, the room was very clean and the bathroom was a good size with a strong, hot shower.

The hotel is located two minutes from the San Stae vaporetto stop. We wound up walking everywhere, though. It is about a 15 minute walk to St. Marks, which may sound long, but it was always an adventure to wander through the small maze of streets to get to any destination. The hotel is convenient to the sights and is located near shops and restaurants, but it is removed from the too-crowded, noisy, souvenir-shop laden crush of the St. Mark's Area.

The staff at the hotel are very friendly and helpful. They told us the best place to buy tickets for the sights, and they also directed us to our favorite restaurant of our two week trip in Italy - Antiche Carampane. It was a meal that we will talk about for a long, long time! We also enjoyed a trip to Burano - a small, sleepy village with beautiful lace shops, pastel-colored houses and good restaurants.

The breakfast is very generous, with pastries, plenty of espresso, American coffee or cappucino, fruit, yogurt, etc. Free wi-fi.

Overall, a lovely, clean, well-priced hotel in a great location!

Stayed here for three nights and would definitely stay again. Only three stops on the water taxi (vaperetto) from the train station. Approx 10 - 15 mins walk to St Marks and plenty of restaurants and cafes near by.
My only downside is that the room was small. VERY SMALL. And had no view but is was decorated beautifully and felt very warm and relaxing.
I can't thank the staff enough for all their help and advice, all were polite and welcoming.

Ok so this is our first trip to Venice, the first word that came out of my mouth when arriving at St.Lucia train station was WOW! Venice is gorgeous albeit busy and crowded like New York.
The location of this hotel could not be any easier, follow the directions given upon making your reservations and you can easily find it.
We were only in Venice for 2 nights, the first night they had to put us in the double room, which was the size of a small studio apartment in NYC, but it served it's purpose and it was cosy to say the least.
We were then upgraded to the junior suite which was super gorgeous. The rooms are not modern but decorated in a faux venetian style. Some say it's romantic, some may say it's fussy. I say it's just right for a few days in Venice and you want a reasonably priced hotel with great service and location.
On our first night we woke up at 11am completely missing our free breakfast which is served from 8am to 10am. the hotel was gracious enough to offer us breakfast anyway and that we were very grateful for.
I'm completely in love with Venice, but not the crowds and we'll probably come back again in the winter and would definitely book this hotel again.

Room Tip: If you are not too worried about price ask for junior suite no 10. I loved it. but I know there is...

Stayed for one nite pre-cruise, everything was just as all of the other reviewers have mentioned. Rooms are lovely, bathroom very nice, staff goes out of their way for you. We go lost navigating back to the hotel the first night, but we were extremely tired, the next day wandered off and just took the water taxi back.
I didn't want to leave this hotel or Venice. If you are going Pre or Post cruise - stay 2 or 3 nites if it is in your budget. Gelato near the hotel - awesome !
I liked that it was only 3 stops in the Canal from the airport and a short walk to the Rialto Bridge.
