This is my second stay at this hotel (8 nights), and I would do so again for all the same reasons. It is just a lovely place to stay in Venice. I would echo all the positive comments from previous reviews. They are well deserved.
I was in 2 rooms in the annex buildings, and both were just grand. I love those beds.
Buy the ACTV Travel Card for the duration of your stay. The proximity of the vaporetto station at San Stae makes it easy to use them to get around the city, and it's good value the more you use the Card.

We liked absolutely everything about this hotel. The staff were kind, pleasant and obliging. The decor elegant Italian, the amenities spotless and the bed extremely comfortable. The prices for the bar fridge were very good. The breakfast fresh and delicious. The dining room and cleaning service fantastic. We have never been so impressed with a hotel ever. We will definitely stay here again and will recommend Hotel Al Ponte Mocenigo to all our friends. Thank you Walter and Sandro. Plus there was free wifi at the hotel, which was a bonus because there seemed to be limited wifi anywhere in the public/tourist areas of Venice

My wife and I stayed here for three nights after a Med cruise and we couldn't have been happier. This was our first trip to Venice and we couldn't have been happier with our choice of lodging. Our room overlooked the canal and had huge windows that opened out to let in the cool spring air. The location near the San Stae vaporetto stop was very convenient both for our initial arrival and early-morning departure, and for our daily trips around the islands. We enjoyed being off the beaten path but still a short walk to the busier sites like the Rialto Bridge.
Without a doubt we will stay here next time we visit.

Stayed here for four nights at the start of December, the weather was fabulous and we chose the hotel because of the reviews on tripadvisor, we were not disappointed, espeacially as it was only £88 per night, bargain! The San Stae vapretto stop is 2 minutes from the hotel and you can get the water bus from there to the airport or get on the number one water bus and cruise up and down the Grand Canal. I'd recommend getting a 'travel pass' for the vaperettos as these are excellent value and enable you to hop on and off the water buses at your leisure. We had a room in the hotel annex, which was spacious and very clean, large bathroom with plenty of hot water and the heating was very efficient when we got in after a night ride on the water bus............! Breakfast was very nice and the hotel staff were very helpful, the coffee at breakfast was delicious as were the croissants. I would heartily recommend this small and friendly hotel, ignore the 2 star rating, its a 5 star in my book!

Room Tip: our room in the hotel annex was excellent.

First time we have stayed here, and it was wonderful. This is a very small hotel, but the special feeling begins when you access the entrance by a private bridge over a canal. The hotel only has 12 rooms so it feels very personal. The owners and staff are very welcoming and friendly. I had asked for a room with a bath so we were in the part of the hotel accessed via a narrow street and a dog-leg round the corner. The room was lovely, beautifully furnished, gorgeous fabric on the walls matched the curtains and bed cover. The bathroom was small, but had everything we needed. The bath was very welcome after long days traipsing round Venice. The location is superb, just up from San Stae vaporetto stop, with two very good restaurants close by. We chose this hotel to let us explore a different part of the city - Santa Croce, San Polo and Dorsoduro. For this it was brilliant. Breakfast was excellent - lovely fresh fruit salad, lots of other choices, and fabulous crunchy apricot croissants. Price was very reasonable - I think we paid 120 Euros per night including breakfast. This is now our hotel of first choice for Venice. Highly recommended. There was a public transport strike on our last day, and the receptionist phoned our room to make sure that we knew. A very nice touch and very helpful.

We stayed at at Al Ponte Mocenigo three nights in mid-November, 2013. First big plus is the location which is just three stops from the train station on the vaporetto. The hotel is a very short walk from the San Stae stop. The proximity to the vaporetto stop was nice during our stay in Venice. We were greeted by the very charming and friendly Walter who led us to our lovely room in the annex. The room was clean and comfortable with a spotless, modern bathroom. Our window looked out into the main street below, but that did not pose a problem with noise while we were there. The breakfast was in the main building, very short walk from the annex, and it was great. Coffee of your choice is brought to you by very nice and helpful staff. The buffet selecton was excellent with some nice baked goods, cereal, yogurt, and juice. The hotel is just enough out of the way of all the activity near the Rialto Bridge and San Marco, so there are not so many tourists in this area. There are many good restaurants nearby which offer the chance to walk the real streets of Venice which are very interesting. We would highly recommend Walter and Sandro's Hotel Al Ponte Mocenigo to anyone looking for a great place to stay in Venice.

We were placed in the annexe, which is an adjoining building. The room was very Italian in decor, with a magnificent glass chandelier over the bed. New bathroom, spotlessly clean, comfortable bed. The operators were extremely helpful, and the breakfast was above average. The stay was more like a B&B experience.

Room Tip: The stairs are narrow and steep, with no elevator. Choose a ground floor room if this presents a pro...
