“Amazing hotel”
Reviewed 27 March 2014

The hotel is simply amazing. Everything is perfect in it. Friendly service with an English speaking staff, which is not that easy to find in Italy. Location is superb - just above the side of a canal. We got a room with a view to canal and small balcony. It's like to find yourself in a movie :).
Unfortunately we had a delay in Frankfurt airport due to a strike, but when we called the hotel, they were so kind to keep a room for us for the next day. The room itself was spacious and impeccably clean. They have a nice breakfast.
I will be definitely coming back to them when traveling again to Venice.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view to canal

My boyfriend and I have just returned from a spontaneous trip to Venice...booked the flights and hotel on the Saturday and were there by Tuesday lunchtime! I used the old tried and tested trip advisor technique..best rated hotel,at the price we want, for the time we need...so ended up at Al Ponte Mocenigo. We booked the last room available which was a Standard Room in the new annexe. As mentioned here countless times, the facilities were spotless, the apricot croissants and morning cappuccino set us up for days and days of walking and the staff extremely friendly and polite ( with great osteria and trattoria recommendations). The room was bedecked in greens and golds and certainly felt more luxurious than the price..very Venetian decor. Bed was comfortable and we loved the wifi and Al Jazeera on the satellite tv was great to watch when we'd over indulged in Prosecco and needed to relax before bed.
The location of the hotel is perfect for exploring/getting lost in the city and next to the Vaporetto stop for those not keen on walking..lots of restaurants within 5 mins if you don't want to stray too far and next to a Modern Art Museum for a quick jaunt around the exhibitions and a coffee on the Grand Canal.
I'm sure wherever you stay and whatever you do in Venice will be magical but staying at Al Ponte Mocenigo made everything even more so for us.

This small hotel is well hidden in the middle of Venice, but very easy to find. Simply stop at San Stae vaporetto station and you are few meters away. It is strategically located to explore the city while still being very quiet.

We stayed in the annex which is in the same building, but with a different entrance. It was no problem at all. Just note that there is no elevator if it is a problem for you. The room decoration is superb with a baroque style : high ceiling, stylish furniture, thick & tall curtains, circumstantial light fixtures, etc. I usually prefer modern style, but this elegant decoration is the perfect setting for a stay in Venice. Everything is spotless clean.

Variety and quality of breakfast are both good. The croissant is super crispy and is one of the best I have ever tasted (once the jam removed). Staff is all friendly and helpful.

I made the reservation by internet and the communication was always quick, courteous, precise and detailed. Information was provided even before I had time to ask. Rates are very affordable considering the location.

We prefer small intimate hotels without pretension and this one did not disappoint us. We haven’t looked at any other hotels, but I can certify that it is one of the best (if not the best of its class). Thank you Al Ponte Mocenigo for this amazing experience !

We just stay 3 nights at Hotel Al Ponte Mocenigo a few days ago and agree with everyone's review on this hotel. It is fantastic and the service is absolutely 5 stars. Nothing was too much to ask. We will definitely come back again. They have made our experience in Venice very memorable.

We just left Venice and were very pleased with this hotel. The entire staff is so friendly and so helpful. The rooms are beautiful. We booked superior rooms, but I saw some of the others, and they looked very nice. The breakfast was really nice with fresh cut fruit and the best pastries. We loved our stay her end would most definitely return.

Firstly, thanks to all the previous Tripadvisor reviewers for providing the information that led me to book this hotel. Secondly to the owners and staff of the hotel who helped make our trip to Venice very special.
The location of the hotel makes it very easy to arrive from the airport. We took the Alilaguna public water bus which we booked online for a small saving. The waterbus takes you directly to San Stae stop which is only the third from the airport. We arrived in the dark and I was slightly confused how to get to the hotel. However it is very easy, When you get off the boat the street is called Campo S, Stae, there is a church in front of you and at the end of the church there is a very narrow lane (this is literally less than 100 steps from the bus stop and opposite house no. 1966) go down the lane and the side door of the hotel is on your right. If you don't want to go down the lane in the dark then walk the short distance to the first street on the left, go over the small bridge and immediately left along the narrow canal path. The first small bridge you arrive at is for the hotel.
The hotel is very small and intimate, traditionally furnished and immaculately clean. Our room was perfect with a minbar and tv. internet was reasonable and of course free. Breakfast is served between the small breakfast room and reception/bar area. We found it perfectly adequate and staff were lovely and efficient. There is lots I can say about the hotel but it has been said so many times by others.I'll just say one thing, if you are going to Venice give this hotel a try.
I loved the area around the hotel and great meals in nearby restaurants. Please ask the staff where to eat and anything about the city as everything they told us was spot on and accurate.
Please also do not hesitate to contact me for any further information.
Hopefully one day we will return.

Room Tip: Upgrade to a superior room. Our one had a balcony overlooking the canal

Found this little gem on TA. One of the best experience we had when traveling. Excellent service, good breakfast, clean and really big rooms. No carpet in the room at all, so no humidity. We had a room in the annex with a canal view. Staff recommended good restaurants and activities. A staff member went out of his way to find us some card board to pack the wine for our suitcases. He even packed us a breakfast to go since we had an early flight. Far enough from all the tourist major attraction to feel like a Venetian, but close enough to walk to everything we wanted to visit.

Room Tip: It's worth paying a little more and get a canal view. The annex side felt like our own apartment...
