“Nice Quaint Hotel with Friendly Staff”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 June 2014

We booked this hotel, in part as we were traveling with a family of 4 who have had issues in Italy with booking rooms large enough for them with 3 beds. This was a great choice. Very Quaint, and off the beaten path, but at the same time conveniently located near the San Stae Vaporetto stop @ the Grand Canal. (less than 5 minute walk) There is a 'back door' where the water taxi dropped us off, so that we did not have to walk great distances with our luggage, But in hind sight, we could have taken the vaporetta (much cheaper) and walked the distance to the hotel from the San Stae stop. We did just that upon checking out....as we took the Vaporetta ride (10 minutes) to the train station.

We knew we were going to enjoy ourselves when we first arrived as we were greeted by a staff member who provided us with refreshments in the courtyard while awaiting the arrival of front desk personnel to check us into our rooms. The annex where we stayed did have a flight of stairs (no lift/elevator) but we managed to get the bags up and down without too much issue. The breakfast provided each morning was very flavorful, and enjoying it in the courtyard was hard to beat.

The rooms themselves were well furnished, and very clean. All in all a very delightful stay of 4 days for us and our traveling party. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

Room Tip: If a lift/elevator is needed you should inform them at the time of booking, as there were ground lev...

This hotel is well run with friendly staff who really seem to care about your enjoyment of your stay . Its location makes it ideal for all the main locations . Great croissant at breakfast too ! well done to Walter and Sandro .

Room Tip: If your mattress is too hard they will supply a topper for you .

We decided to avoid the tourism epicenter this time, and the Mocenigo was the perfect choice. It's on a quiet canal close to the Grand Canal and perhaps a ten-minute walk to the Rialto bridge. So it's very peaceful and yet convenient.

The people were enormously helpful, and the breakfasts were excellent.

Minor quibbles are that they allow smoking in their garden, so it may not be a pleasant place to hang out. the wi-fi worked but was awkward, requiring frequent re-logins.

Would we stay there again? Absolutely!

Room Tip: We liked our room, on the 2nd floor of the annex overlooking the canal.

My wife and I spent two days in this boutique hotel before a 12 day cruise of the Adriatic Sea. We recommend it highly to discriminating travelers looking for a wonderful Venice and European experience in a perfect location for walking to the sights and attractions.

We really enjoyed this little hotel. Based on Trip Advisor reviews, I asked for Room 46 in the Annex. It was large with a sitting area and a small view over a little canal. The room was great and the WiFi worked flawlessly. The in-room safe was a nice touch since not all of the hotels we stayed at in Italy had a safe. They provide courtesy umbrellas to borrow in case it rains - which we greatly appreciated when a quick rain shower started right a we were heading out to dinner.
The hotel is situated right next to the San Stae Vaporetto stop which is very convenient for anyone travelling from the train station with luggage.
My only complaint was the hair dryer- it was really pathetic with hardly any heat or air flow.
I would definitely stay here the next time I'm in Venice.

Perfectly situated small hotel in a quiet area of Venice close to the grand canal. We stayed in the annexe where the rooms are large and beautifully furnished with murano glass chandeliers. it is deserving of more than its 2 stars. Breakfast is served in the courtyard which is complete with the original 15th century statues . The 2 owners couldn't have been more helpful and made our stay perfect in every way

We enjoyed a 7 day stay at the Al Ponte Mocenigo in late May. The previous reviews were spot on: Clean and elegantly appointed room (Deluxe Double), superb and competent staff, convenient, yet quiet location, and delicious and cheerfully served breakfast. The management is to be commended for their excellent and friendly service and high quality accommodations - worthy of a doge!

Room Tip: The second floor (first floor European) is quieter than those located near the reception desk and ea...
